I have just recently stopped smoking and I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to stay off cigarettes? I smoked my last ciggie on Sunday afternoon and was in hospital until yesterday afternoon having an operation, so it didn-t really bother me as I was in a lot of pain and couldn-t really walk. Now I-m home I-m finding that I have major cravings and don-t know what to do with my hands! I haven-t substituted ciggies with food yet so that-s a good sign! Any tips guys? I don-t really want to use patches or gum so if you have any tips that will take my mind off the cravings without using these that would be great! Lulu xStay away from the gum and patches, it takes 72-96 hours for all of the nicotine to get out of your body, you are already there. I would suggest that you use drinking straws or chew on an ink pen. Having just had surgery you are probably spending a lot of down time, being bored, you need to find something to keep you busy. You will have to find what works best for you, each person is different. You have made it through the hardest part so stick with it you are doing great!

www.DrMichaelPaul.comI started a hobby, cross stitching. I find that if I get into that I don-t think about smoking. Any craft store is full of interesting things to do. Another good thing to do is read a book. Before you know it, you have gone several hours without smoking.Stopping Smoking? -

The book is called Easy Way To Stop Smoking, I-ve read a few reviews and also watched the 8 min film on the website, so just wondering if anyone has or knows someone that has read the book and stopped, thanksmy boyfriend read it and stopped smoking really easy with this book. every time he had a craving for a cigarette he would read a chapter of the book and it helped to stop the craving. i also used to smoke and read the little pocket book which helped me immensely. it helps because it makes you realise that alot of the addiction is psychological and it will help you break the psychological addiction which is the hardest part to do. once this has been cracked then the physical addiction is easy to overcome as that bit only lasts a few days.I HAVE READ THIS BOOK!
I STILL SMOKE, the book puts it all into perspective and does work to some degree i stopped cold turkey for 2 weeks i started again because i was gaining weight and saw smoking as the lesser of two evils. the idea of the book is to remove the desire to smoke and that it did another aim is to make you feel like you are sacrificing nothing and therefore need no substitute, that bit i missed and was replacing the cigs with mints, sweets and chocolate.
I recommend you try the book it has worked for many what do you have to loose?yes, my neighbors did and they both quit, after over 30 years, I-m thinking of reading it now, but dont know how -gorey- it is, what the review web-site ?No. You are the only one who has read it...and that-s too bad.
There are still some smokers out there so it would be nice if more people would read it.
Won-t most smokers agree that to stop really only takes a true, definite desire to quit? (Patches-Smatches,etc.).NO I have never read it but would like to for informant reasons. Not me, bored me to death.Sorry this is really a none answer - no I haven-t read the book but, I stopped smoking 53 days ago and haven-t cheated once! It helps if you have a goal to aim for. I desperately needed an big operation and my surgeon told me point blank that if I didn-t stop he wouldn-t operate. I had my operation on 13th August and came home on Tuesday this week and am tons better BTW. Anyway, I registered with the Nicorette Activestop website and got emails and texts from them everyday for a month. I can-t believe how easily I did it especially as I had chain smoked for 37 years! If you want to stop then you are nearly there, it gets easier once you have made that decision. Good luck.I-m going to give up next year in time for my 30th :( and my aunt recommended Allen Carr-s book she gave up after reading it and hasn-t smoked now for a few years.no i havent read it heard its very good thoughI read the book but it didn-t work for me although I do know some people who it did work for.
ps Allen Carr died of LUNG CANCER!!.it just takes will power to stop. yuo can do it if you really want to .save the money you would use i did i was going to florida that was my goal. good luck.I have after i stopped very good but i have my own theory it is about re-trainig the grey matter as with cigarettes, alcohol, heroin, cocaine, homose… etc.etc.you have to tell yourself from day one I DON-T SMOKE not i am giving up smoking, try it bet it works good luckread it and gave up for 3 months then read again and gave up for 2 months. can-t believe i read the most boring book in the world twice. i need another wayI got the book and it was no good! just boring! My sister in law has read this book and she stopped smoking, she has smoked for years and said the book was great and she doesn-t even feel like a ciggarette!A friend of mine went to one of his workshops in the UK about three years ago (I don-t think he did it personally though). She said it was great and managed to stop for 6 months but started again. I read the book afew years ago - it is very good but I didn-t stop for long.
I finally gave up in January this year - I think they key is actually wanting to stop - I just got to the stage where I was sick to death of smoking and feeling horrible, unfit and out of breath. I gave up when I was 40 - I now it-s a bit of a cliche but when you get a bit older - you realy feel the affects of smoking - out of breath etc - you don-t feel it so much in your twenties and early thirties - you still think you are invinsible. I thik that I have cracked it now though - 8 months and no ciggies!Stopping Smoking, has anyone ever read Allen Carrs Book? -

none of that get clean quick crap works..30 days they can still get a sample if its blood....urine is a little bit shorter about 12 days...also depends on how good there test is...good luckdrink lots of water, and try to piss it out. its worked for me before. im not talking a few glasses at dinner either. try to get down about a gallon a day, but dont over do it because it is possible to die from drinking too much water. anything more than 1 gallon in a day could be troubble.if they test your hair - you-re toast. takes six months for the hair to grow out. I think a pee test can be positive for a month.wow it seems as tho u want us to tell u a magical solution to get u clean....best way to achieve this would be to not smoke.. lolYou-ll be lucky. Could take up to three months then could still be in liver.Iv stopped smoking weed for good, i have a test in 3 days, i stopped a week ago, how can i get clean fast? -
