How do you stop smoking? -

my friend smokes and she wants to stop. any ideas? real answers please.Try replacing smoking with a different habit like exercise or something that keeps the hands busy. The first few weeks are the hardest. Good luck.I quit by going to one of those hoaky hypnosis seminars. I really didn-t think it was going to work, but it did!! I never had a craving and I-ve been smoke free since 3/6/03! The trick is that you have to want to give up smoking and it-s the habit that-s hard to break, not so much the withdrawls from nicotine. That only lasts for about a week..no big deal. It-s the habitual reaching for the smokes that-s a toughie. Also, when your friend feels the need to reach for a cigarette, she has to remember the reasons why she quit in the first place...and to light up again would only mean she-d have to start this process all over again. Best of luck to her.Patches,gum or cold turkey. Your best chance is the cold turkey. The rest just cost as much as cigs and its another dependency. Just try cutting back one cigarette a day until your down to none. I wish your friend Good Luck. Its really hard. I haven-t been able to do it yet. I-ve tryed it all.hey girl my mom had that same problem and she saw this treatment that will help i don-t now what it is because it was so long ago that i forgot but look bye girl *********************I did it -cold turkey- along time ago. You have to really want to quit for this to work. You just have to realize it is tough when you first quit, but as time goes on it gets easier. When I quit my work began a no smoking in building policy which helped me. It-s better if you don-t hang out with people while they are smoking. Don-t go drinking, as you will want to smoke more. Stay away from situations where u will be with people that smoke. If you live with someone that smokes -ask for their support - get them to smoke outside. Try to think of smoking like a person trying to control you. You want to get away from that smoke controling your life. I feel so much better now that I don-t smoke anymore.
Your healthier, you breath better, - you save money. When I exercise I-m not out of breath like I would be when I used to smoke.
