Does smoking when you have a cough/cold really make it worse? -
I have a cough and cold but I can-t stop myself from smoking. Will it take me ages to get better? I-m sure smokers will agree that it-s not that easy to just STOP smoking- even when you-re sick. So will it make it worse? Or will it stop me from getting well? I take medication.Well, you know that overall, smoking while you are well is making you sicker a little bit each day.Smoking while you are sick is prolonging your illness. If you are congested, you need to cough up the mucous in order to get better. When you smoke, the cilia in your lungs is paralyzed for at least 15 minutes. The cilia are those little hairs that act as a filter kind of. They move and prevent foreign material from getting deep into your lungs. If they are paralyzed, it will take longer to get all of that yucky stuff out of your chest.smoking makes everything worse...yeap...it makes it worseduh.... i think you know the answer... it isnt flippin helping the problem is it now ?It sure won-t help! Consider that you might not have gotten sick if you were not a smoker!
