What is the best way to stop smoking? -
Dr Allen Carr-s Easy Way to Stop Smoking.Guaranteed to work and it does!!Being told you have lung cancer! There are a number of way to stop smoking:
There is of course the obvious one of going cold turkey, where you just stop
Or you can cut down slowly over a period of days/weeks and then quit
Or you can do this but be aided by nicotine supplements such as patches, inhalers etc
However, all these leave you with the need to smoke after you have quit, i have found the best way, although very aggressive is to smoke yourself out of it. It sounds unconventional but if you increase the amount you smoke by double so if you smoke 10 smoke 20 a day over a period of 3 weeks, you eventually get so sick of it you quit full stop!
How this helpedHey why stop..I mean it-s not as if i-ts going to KILL you,...is it?Jump off a bridgeThe best way is will power, I have stopped 6 years now, and I tried everything including patches and still smoked. Then after over 40 years I decided I would quit without any help and I did it. I never think of them now, and I am a lot richer!!!!!!!!!!ermm not to smokenicorette patch over each eye-then you cant see ur cigarettesWell first of all you have to set your mind to it.you really need to want to do it and if you set your mind to it then your going to acomplish it. Have a goal, maybe dont do it for you maybe for the people around.Your family for example. :)Hehe, a 4th for Allen Carr-s Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
Nicotine replacement is useless, simply, it deals with the chemical addiction which although is the most addictive drug known is very mild when it comes to cravings - how many smokers do you know who wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat dying for a smoke? How many times have you gone for hours without a smoke because you simply weren-t thinking about it?
The Easyway method de-programs your mental addiction, it also counteracts the rubbish you see in the media about quitting smoking having to be difficult - it-s a state of mind. You notice all adverts for quitting smoking say -requires willpower-, it is there by law, thus why Easyway isn-t advertised on TV...shame...because will power isn-t required at all...
...think about it, is it really the best way to get smokers to quit, by telling them if they do they will have to put in a load of effort and be doomed to a life of cravings and depression when they can-t enjoy normal social situations?
Of course it isn-t! No wonder so many people smoke, because it is either smoke of suffer the difficulty of trying to quit! More people need to know about Easyway, the name says it all - QUITTING SMOKING CAN BE EASY!
I-ve never known ANYONE to quit with will power alone, all the ex-smokers I know used Easyway....
...I used patches, gum, inhalator, lozenge, tablets, I also used Zyban, I used the mouthwash/spray that makes cigarettes taste awful, I tried smoking herbal smokes, I tried hypnosis, I tried smoking cigars, I tried smoking lights, I tried sucking on lollies, I tried chewing gum, Keeping my hands occupied, keeping my mouth occupied (don-t ask how I did that, heh), I tried EVERYTHING there is out there, Easyway was the only thing that worked.convince yourself it will be better for your health and on your pocket as well, if you really want to stop then you can..................best of luck.I packed in 3 1/2 years ago. No patches, no gum, no tablets and no stupid nicotine inhalers. If you want to pack in, its the easiest thing in the world. And that-s after 15 years on the cancer sticks!take the time 2 keep your mind acting playing dancing , anything 2 stay away from thinking about itA third for Dr Allen Carr-s Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
That-s £3 for a new book that could save you thousands of £-s and of course your life, with little effort -

Quitting smoking does not have to be hard!!Not worth the full answer - too many dodgy answers and I doubt that the questioner will choose -best-.
Suffice it to say that I gave up myself, after twenty years, with no pain or craving at all and the real tip, aside from a genuine desire to give it a miss, is, as answer number one suggests: JUST DON-T BUY THEM!
(Did you know there are 4000 chemicals in tobacco smoke and as inhaling a hot, combustible mixture of chemicals [tar] is very dangerous, all of them are harmful.
ALSO : Tobacco is the ONLY product that is legally available, which will KILL you if used as directed.)
!stop buying themIn my own opinion, the very best way to stop smoking is to NEVER EVER start the habit in the first place.I smoked 60 a day for 12 years. My way of ending was simple. I didn-t -knee-jerk- into it. I slowly convinced myself, over a period of weeks, how bad it was for my health, until I was annoyed with myself. At that stage I did something really strenuous which nearly killed me. Whilst I was gasping for breath I threw the cig packet across the room in a rage at how stupid I was. After calming down I told myself that I had to last for half an hour without one. I increased it until it was a day, then two, three until it was a week. I bought sticks of liquorice to have in my mouth when the going got tough. It helped. One thing I did learn was that STOPPING IS IN TWO HALVES. One is the craving which subsides quite quickly - say two weeks. The other is the HABIT, which never leaves you. For instance annual events or similar can trigger the habit part of the brain - even events 5 years later can start you thinking about it! BUT knowing that it will happen, means you can be prepared. Stopping smoking was the greatest achievement in my life. To taste food, smell the newly mown grass, the rain after a dry spell, have an appetite! Your sense of taste and smell is re-newed by stopping. At this stage you also realise that you smelt AWFUL - your breath, your clothes, your hair. NOT a nice person to be around! Most importantly your LUNGS and other internal organs have the chance to survive a bit longer. I have seen a smokers diseased lung just after being taken out of a patient. You need no convincing after that! As a final reason for stopping, look up emphysema on the web - THEN, throw that packet AWAY...........FOR GOOD!! You know it makes sense?!The problem with smoking is we are under the illusion that it calms your nerves and releaves stress and boredom, the truth is that it does the exact opposite. When you wake up in the morning ,i personaly feel really good when i first wake up,i feel energetic but there is somthing nagging in the back of my mind telling me i need a cigarrete. What would happen if i didnt have a ciggarete? Nothing bad would happen to me ,i would just be in a bad mood all day if i didnt have one ,is being in a bad mood going to kill me? No its not ,but smoking the ciggarete will kill me,the bad mood wont last forever only a few days and its totaly possible to get through those few days without having a ciggarete but your mind must be prepared for it ,you have to see smoking for what it really is just an illusion of the mind thats is easy to break once you are prepared for it.
I also recommend alan carrs book, the easy way to stop smoking.I havent finnished reading it yet and im still smoking because he advises me to do so ,the more i read the book the more i hate smoking and the more i realsise how stupid i am for smoking in the first place. If i dont quit after reading this book then i will never quit and i-ll need to see a shrink because only an idiot wouldnt quit after learning the facts about smoking.good lucki know this sounds rotten but i always thought chewing on a fag butt would do it for me.
whenever you fancy a cigg after that all you will be able to think about is the rancid taste..eeeww
sounds crazy but if i ever wanted to quit thats what id do.
but a non crazy way would be doing a crossword puzzle every time you get the urge to smoke, or anything to take your mind off it.just stop cold turkey...Give up smoking completely and don-t use nicotine gum/patches etcetera. It means you-ll crave the nictotine a lot to begin with but your body will eventually forget about the nicotine rush if you don-t feed your addiction. Hard to do but actually physiologically the best method. The best way to stop is not to start at all, my mum always told me (she-s a smoker since age 14 and hasn-t been able to quit despite having been off them for a year at one point - just one drag from a friend-s cigarette at a very stressful time and she was hooked again).
If you-ve already started, try not buying cigarettes anymore and putting the money saved in a holiday fund - you-d be surprised how much it adds up to, and you-re rewarded that way for your efforts. My brother was a chain smoker for about 50 years. His wife died. His second wife had the perfect solution: Smoke OR eat. He chose to eat.glue your lips together and drink ensure!I wish I had never started that dirty filthy habit. I smoked for ten years and finally gave up 8 years ago.
I gave up just before coming to Japan from England. I thought that the Japanese are a sensible people. No way would they do such a stupid thing as smoking. So I gave up before I came over only to realise the Japanese are as bad as the bloody greeks.
The best way to give up smoking is a change in lifestyle. For me it was as drastic as changing countries. I would suggest looking at your current lifestyle and finding out how when and where you smoke then adjusting your lifestyle accoridngly
good luck it is an addictive drug than is only still legal cause it makes the government loads in taxUse a nicotine patch, and make a vow to never again breathe anything other than air into your lungs: I did 3and a half years ago. It just needs a bit of willpoweri stopped last week the doctor gave me some nicorette patches and a nicorette inhaler and i am glad to say they work a treat good luck if i can do it anyone can believe me xxCold Turkey (and I don-t mean the meat!)another vote for Allen Carr-s easy way. I smoked 30 a day for 15 years and really didn-t want to give up, but I knew I had to when I fell pregnant. The NHS gave me counselling, inhalers, patches and lozenges and none worked. Try the book (the CD is awful!) I got it from the local library, so no cost at all and even better, it allows you to keep smoking until you finish the book. By the time the book ends, you-ll be ready to quit.Wooo cigarettes :D
