do not allow yourself to buy any cigarettes, nor to accept any freebies. you are in charge of your body and your mind. there are umpteen progrems, gums, patches, etc. to help with the physical cravings but the bottom line is, you have to make the decision and you have to stick to it. If for not so long then it will be a bit easier.stop buying them and try not to hang around with people who do smokeIf you are scared of the whole -cold turkey- approach try this: Go to -tobacco lane- or any tobbacco store and buy fresh unprocessed tobacco flavored or not. Get some rice or hemp papers and put a crutch on the end and roll your own! Those kind of hand rolled cigs do not contain added addictive chemicals like the ones the feds sell at gas stations. This way you might be able to quit without post stress, because you will have been weened off of the federally stamped cigs. Good luck!determination..dont buy themyou start it you can end iti quit last year in feb, it was verrry hard but i quit n never went back. you really have to want to stop, or the first lil thing will send you back puffing. try nicorite gum, not a whole piece just half when you just gotta gotta have a smoke, it really works well with the cravings.I have heard it all the odder ones are switch to cigars or chewing tobacco because they are easier to quit first. Some say cold turkey and don-t let anything control you. When you get it for sure though let me know cause I need to too. :-)nicotinebuy a whole carton than through the whole thing away... worked for me, but the trick is to get rid of all cigs and lighters... who needs em??PLEASE TELL ME WHEN U GET THE ANSWER.I HAVE BEEN SMOKIN SINCE I WAS 9 (SAD TO SAY ) BUT TRUE.NOW I AM 40 AND STILL SMOKIN.....NOT PROUD OF IT EITHER.......HELPthere are patches, quit cold turkey...i heard tapering does not help...concentrate on something elsetry the patch or the gumforce ur brain, my dad had been smoking 50 years and given up...just say the magic wordTry spending some time at a cancer ward at a hospital as a volunteer !Maybe a patch would help or just say no or recycle all your packs and dont buy anymoreFirst, and most important: YOU must want to quit. You will never quit if you are doing for somebody else.
If you really want to quit, then here are some things that I learned when I quit:
1.) Patches worked for me, but they may not for you. If one thing doesn-t help wean you of your physical addition, try something else. Follow the program all the way through.
2.) Don-t be hard on yourself for cheating. After three days of no smokes I bought a pack, chain smoked three cigs and then threw out the rest of the pack.
3.) Toss all your cigarettes, lighters, ash tray-s etc. Out of sight, out of mind.
4.) Minimize exposure to things that remind you of smoking for the first few weeks. Bars, friends that smoke, etc.
5.) The day after you quit, go to the dentist and get your teeth cleaned. (trust me)
6.) Altoids are a godsend.
Keep trying, it-s worth it.Try not putting a cigarette in your mouth........2 points !!to stop smoking you have to be very committed. Always remember your goal. throw away all your ciggerettes and instead when you are craving a ciggerette stick a stick of celery in ur mouth or a carrot ir any other food that reminds u of a cigerette. smoking is all in ur mind. Also remember that smoking cause several desieses and shortens ur life. Look up what is in a ciggerette and try not to hang around people when they smoke. when u go to a resteraunt sit at the no smoking section and that is how you can prevent smokinggums, patches, distractions and reasons to quit reminding you, (relatives who want you not to smoke)by trying to stop smoking...throw away all of your ciggarettes buy some gum and chew it then call a doctor but in the mean while whenever you want a cigarette chew some gumstick them up your nose first than put them in your mouth...
if that doesn-t work try putting them up your butt, than smoke them...
that should keep you from smoking...they way my husband did. cold turkey and praying to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. use Jehovah-s name in your prayers. all the other trash they sell, does not work. but you have to really want to quit and mean it with your prayers, just don-t pray and think that Jehovah will do it for your,dont pick up the cigaretI-ve never smoked, but I-ve seen a lot of people try different techniques to quit. None of them seem to work better than your own will-power. Don-t try to stop dead, come off them gradually to give your body time to adjust. Don-t go to smoking areas to take in what-s left from others.
Chew gum!Stop buying them.It-s very hard. Will power is the only real way it works. Gums and patches help a little but without really wanting to stop, they don-t work.
