Commit lozenges? How good do they actually work? -
My husband wants to stop smoking and chewing but has had a hard time in the past... he wants to try commit... how well do they work? how expensive can they get? are they very addictive? and do they really help your craving? we do not want to waste money on something that does not work!I started using the Commit Lozenges a few weeks ago, and it has really helped with cigarette cravings. I-ve tried the gum, patches, etc..and the lozenges are the first to work for me. I smoked over a pack a day for 8 years, and now haven-t had a smoke for 2 weeks.
They are kind of expensive, but i-ve heard the Walgreens store brand is just as effective. As far as how addictive they are, I won-t know for sure until i try to stop taking them. I read online that a lot of people have had problems becoming addicted to the lozenges, as well as problems with gas and tooth decay. I haven-t experienced any of these side effects, but maybe its too soon to tell! Good luck to your husband....hope this helped!Commit lozenges? How good do they actually work? -

How to make wife stop smoking completely? -
Wife and I have been together 7 years, 10 if you count the BF/GF dating part. I-ve known her from the start to be a smoker, i-ve lived with it. Although she doesn-t smoke as often as she did before and she almost quit, except for a stick or two every few weeks, or when under stress, or when she goes out with friends over dinner. It doesn-t sound THAT bad, but I do want her to stop considering she and our kids are asthmatic and that I want for us to get a life insurance. We-re both in our early 30-s. Any ideas how to approach or handle this? Do i confront her or just live with it.There are many things she can do. the gum and patch and etc. but remember she has to have the drive and will-power to do it, or she can go to her doctor and get medication. Good Luckmy boyfriend-s parents smoked all their lives and his dad quit 5 or so years ago.
a) she-s a SHE, she-s got to have some vain beauty concerns floating around....harp on those (the ugly wrinkles around her mouth, aged look, think Rachel Zoe--google her if you dont know who that is)
b) my boyfriend was asthmatic until his parents started smoking outside. it-s smoke induced asthma. your wife caused your children-s asthma. harp on the child factor and how they-re affected because of her bad habit. also, it-s been recently proven that theres something called 3rd hand smoke--the smoke thats left behind from someone smoking in a car, smoke on clothes. also if you have any pets, theyre being affected too
c) if worst comes to worse (this is going to sound stupid but my boyfriend-s 65 yr old father SWEARS by it) hypnotism. to make a long story (shorter because i already wrote a book) he tried everything in the book and was a heavy smoker since he was 16, nothing could stop him from totally quitting. finally he was so fed up he went to a hypnotist and never touched a cig again.Tell her how you really feel about it, but don-t start laying a bunch of facts on her or she-ll get irritated. How to make wife stop smoking completely? -

Its not just the nicotine. Its also the other 50+ chemicals they out in cigarettes. Also the main problem is habit.
We have been used to having body sensations which we translate as -my body needs something, which we have attempted to satisfy by having a cigarette.
When we try to stop smoking, we still get these -my body needs something- sensations, and we still feel that we want a cigarette. We have to train our body to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we have to work out what it is that we actually need.
A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of the toxic substances in our body. Another good substitute is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with the water.
Another thing to do is to find an activity which occupies the mind or body. Go swimming - nobody wants to smoke while they are swimming. Slowly, as our body adjusts and translates the -want something- feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know its not a cigarette that the body really needs, because as soon as we-ve had one we still have the feeling, and want another!JUST QUIT IT NOT WORTH IT IT IS ALL IN YOUR MIND THROW THEM NASTY THINGS AWAYWhat kind of question is this?
I found this site...

... that might be helpful. But how a laser could have an impact on a craving like smoking beats the daylights out of me.Laser therapy stop smoking? -
Should I quit smoking or go back to smoking, I quit on accident 3 months ago? -
Should I quit smoking or go back to smoking, I quit on accident 3 months ago? -
I started smoking when I was 3 and smoked until I was 34. Then i quit on New Years eve this year...i just quit cold turkey because I thought I had to...but I didn-t want to. I like smoking actually. Its other people that don-t like it.
I thought I was going to join the military, so I quit smoking because you are not allowed to smoke in boot camp. Well, I found out I can-t get in the military because I am color blind.
I-m not to worried about smoking-s damage to my health. I can still run a mile under 6 minutes and my genetics are pretty good. My grandfather started smoking at age 5 and he dies of emphysema from smoking... but, that was when he was 95 - it took smoking 90 years to kill him.
At age 3, my mother gave me a cigarette and i started regular pack a day at 12 years old. My mother is a pot head and she didn-t know any better.
Here-s my dilemma. I enjoy smoking and I-ve been doing it for 30 years. Its easy for me to quit because I understand why people smoke and why they quit. Most people can-t quit because they think its hard... but its actually easy. People only think its hard because that is what people said. In actuality all you have to do to stop smoking is stop smoking. It requires no physical effort... You do nothing!
I figure I made it 3 months with no smoking maybe i should just continue. But i will always miss smoking. I also like to drink alcohol and get drunk but i never got addicted to that. I haven-t had a beer in over a year.
What do you guys think i should do. I like smoking and drinking but i don-t do them anymore because everyone else seems to not like them. I always cared about what other people think - but now i miss out on the enjoyable things in life.
What should I do?Quit smoking by accident...I think that is the best accident that I-ve ever heard of. I smoked for 30 years and had no problems either, until last year. I can tell you that after eleven months of not smoking, my outlook on smoking has changed considerably from the third month; I-ll never smoke again. I was just banded two days ago and what a reward it was to not have had smoking related coughing in recovery.
Whatever you decide, I wish that you will never suffer long-term damage from smoking.you shouldn-t go back. your mom made a huge mistake by giving you one at age 3.definitely quitWhat in the world were you thinking??? You know how good it is for your lungs to smoke as many cigarettes as possible!! How dare you be so selfish and abandon the sacred cigarette! I suggest you go out this very minute and buy as many packs as possible... hurry as fast as you can before they turn their back on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!Defo quit youll feel soo much healthier
i quit a few months ago
and now i can actuallly breathe! its great! lol :)
i know u can run for miles
but if u keep off the cigs then u can prolly compete in the olympics :P:P
xD
