Will i get fat if i stop smoking ? -

Will i get fat if i stop smoking ? -

i heard that if you stop smoking you will become extremely fat and thats the only reason i dont want to stop smoking :(
do you think its true or just bullshit ? and if its true is there any solution for it ?Maybe, but youll die sooner if you dont stop. I know ppl who have quit smoking and they are still thin. You can lose weight, if you begin to gain. So dont let being worried about getting fat be your only priority. Stop smoking for you, life, and family. I hope you do. Take care and good luck. You may get fat if you stop smoking.

This is because eating is a comfort mechanism.

Here are some sites to help you quit smoking and lose that weight!you might gain a little weight...but, if you are burning more calories...your body won-t be able to gain weight.

I recommend a walking or running program to coincide with smoking cessation. It will help take your mind off smoking, it will increase your calorie output, and you will feel and look better.no, thats only if you over eat because you feel like your hungry (when your actually craving nicotine), i quit smoking 7 months ago, and i havnt put on any weight since then. just dont over eat. good luck quitting, youll feel alot better for it.That is only true if you replace your cigarettes with food. Try replacing smoking with something healthy, like a brisk walk or go for a bike ride.It is true. the cigarettes contain nicotene, which speeds up your metabolism. So, when you stop smoking your metabolism will slow down and cause you to gain weight. The simple solution when you quite smoking is to cut back on your calories and then you wont gain any extra weight.by smoking you are harming your health in many ways, by smoking you are gaining weight if you stop you may improve your health, but if you stop smoking you will not gain weightNo but you will be healthierThat is kind of a myth. If you begin eating all the time to replace smoking then yes you will gain weight but what you really need to do if you are interested in quitting then you need to either try a smoking cessation class, or other form of cessation aid. OR get in touch with the American Lung Association they print a pamphlet that reads...Stop Smoking...Control Your Weight their web site is www.lungusa.org

i have been a smoker for 19 years now and really have been thinking about quiting. all of the adults that i am around smoke too.I am currently taking Chantix. I have tried every stop smoking aid out there. You first take .5 mg for the first 3 or 4 days, then take .5 mgs twice a day for the rest of the week ( while smoking ) You are suppose to quit smoking by the 7th day. I was really worried about this product working since I figured I would be lowering my cigarettes sub-consciencely for that first week. The last day came and I though, this isn-t going to work. The next day, I opened the second packet of Chantix, which is 1mg twice a day. As soon as i got to work, the pill kicked in, and I was dang now I feel something working.
It makes me feel like on the edge of being sick but not being sick. I feel like if i was to smoke a cigarette because of habit, it would make me sick.
I haven-t smoked for 2 days and trust me only once did i think about smoking and it was about 30Min-s after i got home from my dreadful day at work. Also, its close for me to take my second pill for the day too
Chantix seems to work........

PS I hear they are testing it out for alcoholics too.....Chantix, apparently it blocks the nicotine receptors in your body making you not even realize you don-t have it.

I don-t understand how it works but it doesChantix, I just quit using it. It-s a pill, not cheap, but costs no more than cigarettes. If quitting can be easy, then this was. Every now and then I want a cigarette, but the feeling goes away. You will feel so much better. GO FOR IT!! and the best of luck.....Good for you...wellbutrin is actually quite successful, and cheaper, you may want to try it first, if it doesn-t work for you, try the other one everyone is suggestion...my husband quit on wellbutrin 2 years ago, and other people (me) smoking around him does not bother him.

he smoked from age 12 to 36...I have heard a great many good things about the new drug called Chantix, discuss it with your doctor.
