This questions is for female smokers!People who smoke are addicted to the mental -high- they get from it. If you can break that psychological addiction, you can stop smoking - this is often used as a crutch by people who never wanted to stop smoking in the first place - -I can-t, it-s too difficult-, -I can stop any time I like-...

A lot of girls smoke because it-s an appetite suppressant and will help keep them slim - a ploy both anorexics and models use to their advantage. The reason that most people put on weight after stopping is because they need something to do with their hands and mouth, and eating fills that void - as well as the appetite returning.

Trust me, I know what I-m talking about - six years ago, I was on 80 a day and on April 11th, 2000, I stopped and haven-t had one since. It-s one of the best things I-ve ever done.honestly i agree with that guy who mentioned addictiveness.Necotine makes you addicted to it.and tar in it makes your lungs die out slowly............so im not even surprised if mine are...Im only 19 though....Im just looking for a fast way out of life the way i smoke.I gave up smoking for seven months and started again at my mums funeral. She died off lung cancer. How stupid is that?? Three years on and I-m still smoking.I quit 4 months ago so it can be done. I smoked 20 a day for 25 years but I-ve got no intention of starting again. The first week of quitting was the worst - I had horrendous insomnia. I didn-t like the premature wrinkles and receding gums I was starting to get. I didn-t stop for health reasons, purely for vanity. I read the Allen Carr book and I found that helped a lot. I never thought a self-help book would do any good, but I was proved wrong.Smoking is an addiction... just like drugs and alcohol. I wish I could quit... but I doubt that I ever will, even knowing the results.the same reason boys cant stopIt may shock you to discover that smoking is addictive.Im a girl. I need to stop smoking. Like everyone I have stress at work and home. I smoke I guess to relax but I really am trying to quit. Need help with taking the first step in quiting. Don-t want to take any medications.Very Good - It is a silent poison for death.

You can not stop it by-
gradually reducing or
reducing step by step or
smoking only on occasions etc.etc.,

You have to decide and implement on that moment itself and throw the cigarettes in had.
Only WILL POWER will achieve your stop smoking.

By smoking you do not get any sort of enjoyment and whatever you feel is only an illusion and on the other hand it helps persons to get heart ailments and cancer fast.

The only way I was able to quit is because my fiance and I did it together. He was a pack to 2 pack a day smoker for 13 years. We went on the patch (it may be mostly mental, but I swear it helped), and he went to the occasional cigar for the first month. We were on the patch for a little over two months, then didn-t need -em anymore. We-ve now been smoke-free for over 8 months. It-s a hard thing to do, but its possible.

First off you need to quit cold turkey. Then minimize use of things that remind you of smoking or create a craving (i.e. coffee, liquor, etc.). Then find substitutes like gum, twizzlers, etc to put in your mouth. One note, if you can stand it, black liquorice is a GREAT substitute, for whatever reason it-s taste cuts down on the cigarette taste craving.

Keep a calander, and remind yourself that the first 21-28 days are the hardest, thats your body going through the nicotine withdrawal. After that its just habbit withdrawal, but the physical withdrawal will be over.You need to surround yourself with non smokers. I took some nicorette gum for about 10 days, chew twice and leave in your cheeks until the urge hits you again, When it comes sit back and do deep breathing exercises, it-ll take about two minutes and it will pass. Drink lots of water, go for walks, go to the mall,
If you usually had a smoke after dinner, go straight to the kitchen.
The first 3 days will be horrible, but it-ll get easier after that.
I wrote an e-mail to all the people I know and told them I quit and updated it every month, And they send me encouragements.
Now, its been 14 months.
You can do it.Eat a brick, turn around five times, scratch your head, and hop on one foot for a minute. Then you won-t be addicted anymore.

Thanks.You are doing wonders for your body by not smoking. When they say smoking keeps you skinny, that is a myth. It keeps your lungs black is what it does. It is very possible to lose weight with exercise and eating healthy, in fact you will feel much better! I suggest you buy sugarfree gum so when you crave nicotine, you can chew on it, because they say people gain weight when they quit not from not smoking cigs, but because they buy candy and eat candy constantly.

Yes it is possible. I was in the same situation not too long ago. I stopped smoking awhile ago and I was worried about the same thing. If you stay active and eat within reason you shouldn-t gain too much weight. You might not even gain weight at all. I actually lost weight. I was worried about gaining weight as a result of quitting so I started exercising more than I had been and I changed up my diet. I-m about 10 pounds less than when I was smoking. It helps to just build up a habit of working out regularly and eating healthy regularly. I use

My friends and I use the site and we keep each other motivated.The best way to lose wight (also the hardest way) is to do lots of exercise and eat not much, mainly carbohydrates (flour bread pasta ect) lay of the sugar and fatty foods, and do exercise! 5 mins every hour will do it.count calories and keep them at 1200-1500 a day. your a bit heavier so maybe start of THE MOST at 1800. dont drink anything but water, a lot of unknown calories come from drinks.
