because someone has put your fire out.Because of the health risk. If you smoke one pack of cigarettes per day, you increase your chances four times for having a heart attack. Depending on where it is in the heart, it could kill you instantly. It also increases your risk of hypertension, stroke, lung/mouth/throat cancer, and it smells really bad. I have a few female friends who smoke and I couldnt imagine getting close to them. Its like they smell like a giant ashtray all the time, I could only imagine what kissing them was like. If you think it makes you look cool, think again. What is cool about someone sucking on a stick and making a fish-looking face while doing it and then blowing smoke out. If you care about your own health then quit now. You can start by slowly decreasing how much you smoke per day or you can get on the medicine called Chantix that can help you quit. It eventually makes you throw up each time you smoke a cigarette.
If you are thinking that you are young and are not susceptible to the heart attacks and things of the nature, think again. I have been working as a medic for the past 11 years and see it quite often. Look at the St. Jude website and see how many children on there have cancer and then tell me that you are too young to be diagnosed with cancer. These days, age has absolutely no factor in what major medical problems you have. Why do something that is just going to add to the problems?the smell and taste is terrible. I would never date a guy that smokes it makes me want to gag....you know all the health reasons....people probably tell you all the time. Why sould i stop smoking soon? -

hello everyone. i really want to stop smoking but i am so afraid that i will not handle and get over the cravings of a cigarette. How long will it take for the cravings to go away? i am really terrified. When I quit, I found there were two things that triggered the cravings. The first is habit. The second is the nicotine widthrawal itself.
The second trigger is actually easy to get over and will go away pretty fast. It-s the first that is harder to drop. I quit without any medicines, gums, patches etc. and it really wasn-t that hard.
I decided that smoking wasn-t a habit that I developed over night and it wasn-t something that I could quit over night. Going the cold turkey route sets most people up for failure because the first time they fall off the wagon they think it-s all over.
I took three days to write down the time of day and what I was doing each time I had a smoke. I found real quick there-s a pattern. When you wake up, after you eat, before bed, when you-re at bar drinking, or sitting in traffic. Any of these sound familiar?
There were also more subtle triggers such as once I had completed a task at work. It was a way of rewarding myself.
The next step was to break the cycle. I smoked every day driving to work and driving home. So I made a rule that I couldn-t smoke in the car. I had to wait till I got to work or until I got home. I noticed the car smelled a lot better pretty quick. That was a good incentive.
It also changed the timing of the nicotine cravings and I noticed I was beginning to smoke less without even trying just by delaying that cigarette for a short time.
I then decided to not smoke after meals. I might smoke 30 minutes after I finished (and that was acceptable), but I wouldn-t do it directly afterwards.
After changing three triggers that were part of the daily routine, the cravings went away almost completely. I only wanted to smoke in response to more emotionally charged things like a highly stressful situation. I could even go out to smoking areas and talk with friends without wanting to smoke.
It took about two months total to reach the point that someone might offer me a cigarette and the thought of it was a turn off, though on rare occasions I-ll want one. I find the best way to curb that is go hang out in a smoking area. A few wiffs of second hand smoke and you-ll be glad you quit.
Good luck with it!
Unfortunately for me it took years. In the beginning you get bad cravings but they do go away and are less intense as the days go by.
Congratulations on your decision to quit, you will not go nuts.
Take a jar, empty your ashtray in it and a few drops of water..very few, the cap on it....when you get a craving, open that jar and take a big whiff...you probably wont have so intense a craving after that. The best way to stop smoking is to never start! Unfortunately it seems you are past that point. I would suggest trying some other form of tobacco such as chewing tobacco or snooter, it worked for me! It was much easier to quit the other form than smoking. If that doesnt work simply hollow your ciggarette out and fill it will weed! sounds stupid but it might work ;)Help to quit smoking!!!? -

I stopped smoking but still have to get a drug test help? -
ok i was a heavy marijuana smoker but my mom found out about my habit so she took me to the health clinic to get drug tested a week ago....i kno im dirty but i will have to go back soon... i have not smoked in a week..im 250lb is there any detox-s that clean out your system for the lab drug test ...you have to be1000% positive it works i dont want to buy anything of the internet.. and i kno i need to stop smoking and its bad for me so dont tell me thatI am 1000% positive that if you drink about a gallon or two of water today and urinate frequently you will clean out your system by tomorrow. But make sure you eat too so you don-t die from diluted nutrients in the body after drinking all that water (probably won-t happen but just to be safe because it can).
This is only if it-s a piss test though.
Shelly, just so you know drinking bleach didn-t do a thing to help your cousin pass the drug test that is just a myth, it was all the water your cousin drank afterward that did it.also you can make some coffee and add about a teaspoon full of bleach to it and it should clean out anything in your system. I know it sounds horrible but it-s really not that bad. My cousin used to do it all the time and was on probation and had random drug tests and passed every one of them by doing that. She would drink at least 2 cups of coffee with a tsp of bleach in each one and then drink A TON of water after that.i smoke weed everyday and get drug tested every week, it takes 2 days to get out of your system if u drink a galon of water, or atleast dulute the piss so you will pass. and they test for DETOX now, so if you detox and they find it you will automatically FAIL and be sent to jail. just stop smoking 3 days before the test and drink a galon of waterNothing but time will work...you need 30-45 days to get it out of your system...if they do hair samples it could take years....none of that junk on the net worksI think you-ll do fine if you just stop.I stopped smoking but still have to get a drug test help? -
