Good luckMy dad and his sister started smoking in their early teens (my dad is now 46 and his sister is 53), had the laser acupressure treatment in August and neither has picked up a cigarette since then. In fact, my dad went to a bar a week after having the treatment and had no desire to smoke at all. They both come from a family of chain smokers, and are both really happy with their decision to quit. It cost $300 and insurance did not cover it, but they-re both happier and healthier than they were months ago. Neither of them even has the urge to pick up a cigarette now.
Most important with the treatment is your desire to quit, though, and it-s good to know that you at least have that.
I wish you the best of luck!I just found out about a laser treatment to stop smoking. I guess it has been used in the UK and Canada for some time now. It is now approved in the U.S. www.LaserAssociatesofMadison.com is one advertisement I have seen..Might check it out myself. ( I know one person that had it done and she said it was like a miracle.)The shortest and least stressful way to quit is without drugs or nicotine replacements which prolong the process. Then the day you start your quitting process, just do it, no trying... do it, and keep doing it.
It helps to have some powerful guidance, and this website:

Read some books; be prepared for withdrawal symptoms - cravings - social situations - with coffee - after meals, etc.when u feel the urge to smoke chew on gum or try some coffee that usually helps. So easy, all you have to do is throw away the pack and don-t light up another fag.joe land.
STOP SMOKING (014)
The habit of smoking is an acquired pattern of action that is automatic and thus difficult to break. Subconscious programming helps eliminate the desire to smoke, which makes quitting achievable. The stop smoking program is designed to make the behavioral transition as easy as possible.

i have been ill this whole week so i havent really smoked but today i burst out crying probably because i started my period yesterday and i have not smoked either .
i am quite ill and under weight only 7 stone ( i think in kg-s thats 48kg) so i am worried about nicotine patches so amonst all methods to quit what worked best for you (not including only willpower)Quit.. Your ability to quit is in direct relation with your desire to live. You want to live bad enough, you-ll find the strength to quit. When you want to smoke - eat something - than your stop smoking - put on weight!!!I have heard that chewing on cinnamon sticks when you get the desire to smoke helps. That-s how my friend quit about 5 years ago.Does your doctors have a nurse who speciality it is to help you? If so go as if you are lucky like i am you will have brill support, i have gone from 50 per day to none and have been a no smoker for 2months and 2 weeks. The only thing is you can smell better and when you stand against someone who is either smoking of just finished one you will feel sick, but believe me it really is worth giving up. You sound a very young person and i am not so young so take it from some one who-s been a smoker for a very long time it-s great to not smoke. Plus there are several ways of giving up the old ciggy, and yes you do gain weight so that will help youI smoked from the age of 13 til 26 the whole time thinking I-d be able to stop when I WANTED to. Then that time came and no matter how much I told myself not to smoke I kept going back.
One day at work, my boss asked me if I wanted to quit smoking and my response was -who doesn-t?- That day was to change my life... forever.
I am now nearly 33 and haven-t had a cigarette since 2 weeks after my boss asked me that question. How? I read a book, it was that simple... it-s by Allen Carr and if you WANT to quit check out his website below.
Quitting smoking was the easiest (yes easiest) and most empowering thing I-ve ever done. I couldn-t have done it without the book.quit for 2 days and then hit it twice in a row
keep doin it and youll stopBuy a waterbed and fill it with petrol.GRADUALISM
My wife has no willpower but wanted to give up smoking.
January 2005 she started cutting down by one cigarette every month.By the end of the year she had quit and has not smoked since nor felt the desire except one time when she was nervous at a singing audition.
Good luckGet a friend to punch you real hard in the mouth.
You-ll not want to put a cigarette between your sore, swollen lipsA Yahoo search for -how to quit smoking- will give you a wealth of information and advice.dont stop right away, you have to do it slowly.. try 3 sticks per day until you think that you can stop it!good question i want to know tooIt sounds simple but it worked for me - stop buying them.
I smoked for 20 years - I tried to give up many times and one day thought, this is it. I am simply not buying them anymore - if you haven-t got them you can-t smoke them. It worked - six months on - no ciggies. I have forgotten I ever smoked now.
I am sorry, but you will have to have some sort of willpower - even with patches. You have to want to stop smoking.i smoked for over 40 years and tried all sorts of aids to stop the addiction- hypnosis - patches- gum -acupuncture- all failed long term .
just when i accepted to live with the addiction, or die with it! i was given Allan Carr-s book -how to stop smoking-
that was 4 yrs ago and I-ve not smoked a single puff since.
as you have not smoked whilst ill you are almost there .
good going ! try the book to strengthen your wish to quit
it -s your time to stop so good luck- let us know next month how you-re doing. What is best method to stop smoking? -

is there any thing i can do about it and what is it? is because im not smokingYes, that sounds like withdrawl effects.I-m sure it just has to do with the withdrawal. But if it doesn-t start getting better or go away soon, talk to a doctor. Withdrawal may be intense, but it doesn-t last too long.ya its normal after quiting somthimg addictive. Your body is just detoxing and your going into withdrawl. Aswell somtimes u can feel sick. so it is normal.I just stopped smoking 10 days ago, and i sweat and sweat at night, is that normal? -
