Start chewing Tobacco whenever you have the urge for a cigarette. After a few weeks you-ll be out of the habit of cigarettes. Then wean yourself off the chewing tobacco. It worked for me. What fool gave me a thumbs down? That is how I quit smoking. Its easier to quit chewing tobacco. How is it any different than the stupid gum or that inhaler thing or the patch. All your doin is getting out of the habit of lighting up while still getting your Nicotine. You get out of the habit then you stop using your crutch.I knew a girl some years back who wanted to quit smoking badly ... when I ran into her one time, she was grinning from ear to ear because she had successfully done it... she told me she did it this way:Every time she got a craving for a smoke, she chewed on vitamin C! (the flavoured ones) apparently she not only was able to quit; but she didn-t gain weight either!
Sound like a good idea??This change for the better in your life is going to take more than wishing, it needs a concentrated decision and action.
Start off by deciding once and for all to do it - no wishing, no hoping, just absolute confidence that you will see this through to the end. Believe me, you won-t even begin to know the power and satisfaction that your success will bring.
Smoking is a short term gratification. It brings you instant pleasure, but not enjoyment, not self-esteem, not health and not a happy future. All good things come from a little sacrifice - so go to it.
Some quick tips: Get a friend or group, or family to support you and be there when you need them. Write out the benefits of your new you - then read them, shout them everyday. Plan and get ready things to do with your hands and yourself, instead of smoking. Look up new hobbies, skills and what sort of exercising you can take up.
There-s lot of info about quitting smoking, good snacks to grab, and other advice here:

The only thing he really does different to stop is he always carries chewing gum. After a meal..he immediatly pops some into him mouth. When he gets an urge ...he just chews gum. He says without it.. he would not be able to do it.
I think you just really have to make your mind up to do it... go stock up on some good gum...and try it.
