COLD TURKEY.

Here-s how you do it. You take LOTS of warm, relaxing baths.

You drink TONS of water. You read a lot, or engross yourself in an activity that requires intense concentration (say, a video game).

Get rid of all ashtrays, smoking accoutrements, and clean the areas where you used to smoke to within an inch of their lives (get all that creepy smoke-tar off stuff).

Eat sunflower seeds.

After three days of drinking lots of water, all the nicotine is out of your system and the craving starts to abate. It-s all psychological from there on out.

Every time you want a cigarette, go walk outside for five minutes (if you have a watch with a timer, set it). The fresh air will invigorate you. When you come back in, have a large glass of ice water.

It-s a challenge, but it is also an interesting test of will.

Who-s stronger?

YOU?

Or a dried plant wrapped in paper and tipped with a filter?

I wasn-t going to let a frigging plant beat ME.

You-ll save a fortune, your car, clothes and house won-t stink, and you-ll be truly liberated.

You just have to make up your MIND to do it.Pack a tent and camping gear and have someone with a boat drop you off on an island for a couple of weeks, where you can-t walk to buy any, and of course don-t take any with you. The fresh air and cool nights will do you alot of good. You-ll be relaxed and less stressed. Before long you won-t even miss smoking and wonder why you ever started in the first place.1. APPROACH SOMEONE THAT YOU DISLIKE INTENSELY.

2. BRAG THAT YOU CAN STOP SMOKING ANYTIME

3. WAIT FOR THEM TO LAUGH

4. STOP SMOKING

What are some good ways to get my mom to quit smoking ? -

I-m a teenage girl ... and I really want my mom to stop smoking . What are some good ways to get her to stop ? I already told her that it-s bad for her -n stuff ... but what are some other ways ? Pleease help =/ ThanksTell her you would like her to live to see her grandchildren someday. Also the cigarette smoke destroys the collagen in you skin and makes it saggy and wrinkled. Now I bet that isn-t on her Christmas wish list!Take it from experience, the only way she can quit is for her own personal health, not for others. What you can do for her is do research for the best cessation method for her. For example, my mother has been smoke free going on five years, that-s after smoking most of her adult life, by getting her to:

1) change to a less poisonous brand of cigarette. Most brands like Marlboro, Camel, Newport, etc. have additives in them to make them super-addictive, forcing more nicotine to the brain. If she smokes one of those, get her to try a more natural brand like Natural American Spirit. After a week or so, those additives will be out of her system and will make it easier to stop complete.

2) cessation program. Ultimately you want her to be completely smoke free but first getting her to substitute smoking with another type of nicotine delivery system is essential. There are many on the market these days but the nicotrol inhaler worked for my mom: It-s used like a cigarette and gives the needed nicotine without lighting up. Once she starts using it on a regular basis, she will be ready to wean herself from it.

3) Hypnotherapy: One of the blocks for successful quiting, we found was that women have a unique relationship with smoking and that quiting is more like grieving, that-s why most people fail is once the physical withdrawal subsides (in about 72 hours) then the mental games begin. Find a hypno-therapist that specializes in smoking cessation and have her do at least on session. My mother wailed and cried and grieved for days after she stopped but after on hypno session, she felt much better and has been smoke-free since. Good luck!!Check with your local cancer society, they may have some good ideas.
I quit after many years by using the gum. I could chew the gum in places where I could never smoke---like theaters, buses, planes, offices. Buy her some nicotine gum.
Good luck.Just open up and tell her how it could and does affect you.Seriously, I read this book called The Easy Way To Quit Smoking by Alan Carr. It is amazing. Order it online and give it to her. Tell her to be open minded about it. :) I quit, my mom quit, my friends have quit...and its SIMPLE!!!Ha ha, is she a social person? because, (if they-re not retards) tell your mums friends, and your friends to like cough and stuff, around her,
