Okay, I read -The Only Way To Stop Smoking- and finished it a couple of days ago. I totally agree with Allen and understand his point. However, since I stopped smoking, I-ve wanted a cigarette constantly! People say that the physical cravings only last about 3 minutes but I have been thinking non-stop about smoking for two days solid, every single waking minute and I don-t know about you guys but it-s driving me bloody nuts.
Just based on what I-ve told you, this seems more like the -willpower- method than this apparently ridiculously easy method of stopping smoking.
I would attend an Allen Carr clinic but in New Zealand, they cost $455.00 and I seriously do not have that kind of money.
Where have I gone wrong with Allen Carr-s method? I know smoking does nothing for me, that I-m being controlled by a drug, that the discomfort and craving has been caused by the last cigarette e.t.c. e.t.c, but I still want a cigarette. Up to this point, it-s been extremely difficult to abstain from smoking (but I have) and I don-t know how much longer I can.
PLEASE HELP! Seriouslyafter 44 yrs of smoking I quit 11 mts ago, it does get easer as you go along but I don-t think it ever completly goes away, please stick with it and get someone close to you for encouragement, it does help, you will not be disappointed in the futureI quit 14 months ago using Chantix. I still sometimes want a cigarette. I won-t have one though because after smoking for 35 years I don-t ever want to go back! I don-t know if smokers ever really get over the craving. I guess we just need to stick to our decision. I really wish I knew the answer. Good luck and please stick to it.Hey You! You are doing so well and Im very proud of you.Easy thing to start smoking but what a beatch to stop.Hope I have the strength you have had so far to get me thru too!
You go ........... :-if you were to take a couple of packs of cigs and put them in a pail of water, and let it stand for a couple of days, all the nicotine and chemicals would come into the water...
and, if that water fell onto the ground do you know
they would have to call a hazardous swatt team in to clean up the toxic mess? and your putting that into your mouth when you smoke cigs.
not to mention the temperature of a cigarette, basically your heating up your tongue and throat and lungs with a hot chemical that is way above body tempt.
feel your tongue right now with your own tongue, you will see it is very tough, thats from smoking...dont smoke, and keep going forward...your tongue will be nice and soft in a couple of months.
