I have stopped smoking for 2 days now.....? -
I haven-t been smoking cigarettes for 2 days now and I woke up this morning (2nd day) and my cheeks and tongue are senstive and sore. Is this a side effect of not smoking? or something more serious? I don-t drink a lot of water and my diet is mostly fast food.I quit 2 weeks ago and still have the same problem. It is most likely due to the lack of tar coating your tongue. Not to worry it will go away :-) Been here, done this before.Congrats on quitting btw, from here on, you are only going to get healthier! If you have more trouble, there is a new medication out called Chantix that is designed to help people stop smoking. Biggest side effect is an upset stomach for the first 1-2 weeks. Ask your doctor about this.Congratulations on being a non-smoker. You-re free!
Go get some multi-vitamins and start taking them for a while.
You may have unintentionally cut back on fluids, especially if you had coffee or cola when you smoked. Start drinking something that is incompatible, like bottled water or chocolate milk.
Your withdrawal symptoms will go away like a flu. You just have to wait it out until you are well. Hope you feel better soon.I am a reformed ex-heavy smoker (60 a day idiot!) and what you are going through is the bodies auto-mechanism is trying to make you start again! It will throw every thing at you to make you relent! You will feel really rough for a couple of weeks and then suddenly! you-ll turn the corner. The craving for a smoke will be bad at first then it will be like fancying a toffee or similar, then it will go! Your job is to be firm and don-t give in!!!!! THE CRAVING DOES GO IN THE END!!!!!! BELIEVE ME!well, u answered your own question - this is the problem of your wrong diet.its nothing to do with smoking....since u drink less water, your lips and tounge are parched, they r dehydrated.....and plus fast food..oily stuff mate....drinks lotsa water...gr8 u quit smoking...hang on buddy
