Best way to stop smoking? -

Best way to stop smoking? -

I know there are probably millions out there who have stoped smoking I want to quit I really do but its hard.... about 6 years ago I used to be a meth addict but I detoxed myself and quit but quiting tobacco seems to be a lot lot harder as crazy as it sounds it was easier for me to get off meth then tobacco ... I have cut down on smokes though one pack will last me almost 2 weeks now i used to go through a pack a day almost so any way any tips or ideas from one would be helpfull

thanksthe best way to go is slow like you have been, take it slow and dont force it because that is what always sets you back to smoking againCold turkey really is best. Just be determined to beat it, and you will! Have distractions ready, like hard candy or straws to chew on, lots of gum, and something to do with your hands. Take up knitting (don-t laugh, it will help!), or woodworking, or painting.

Keep telling yourself, -I can make it one more hour...- and keep pushing it one hour at a time. The PHYSICAL addiction is gone in about 4 days, but the mental addiction is harder.

Good luck to you, you will be so glad!I gave up for 8 years once, it is hard lol
This time i used a self hypnoses cd.
i had to read a short book which took about half an hour then listen to the cd which took 25 Min-s.
that was over 8 weeks ago.
Ive smoked twice now when i was in the company of smokers and quite drunk! though i can get rat arsed and not smoke as long as no 1 else is!
hope that helpsThere is a book called -The Easy Way to Stop Smoking- by Allen Carr.

A former smoker recommended it to me and it did help. I quit on Jan 1st after 15 years and so far it really hasn-t been that hard.

It-s All in the State of the Mind (by an unknown author)

If you think you are beaten, you are

If you think you dare not, you don-t

If you think you-d like to win, but can-t,

It-s almost a cinch that you won-t.

If you think you-ll lose, you-ve lost

For out in the world you-ll find

That success begins with a fellows will

It-s all in the state of mind...

Think big and your deeds will grow

Think small and you-ll fall behind

Think that you can and you will

It-s all in the state of mind..

Life-s battle doesn-t always go

To the stronger and faster man

But sooner or later, the man who wins

Is the fellow who thinks he can. There is no one method that works for everyone. The nicotine gum worked for me, but not my wife. She finally had success with Chantix. Just keep trying until you find a method or combination of methods that work for you. The most important factor is the desire to quit.I managed to quit on my own, cold turkey, once for about three years. Since I relapsed I-ve tried the patch and Zyban without success. Tried Nicorettes too...but you can-t keep the damn things lit.

I really think it-s a mind thing. Ya gotta wanna!

As Mark Twain once said: -Quitting smoking is easy; I-ve done it a thousand times.-Different methods work for different people. I tried tapering down, but the only thing that worked for me was cold turkey, which is saying something since I was addicted to smoking since I was 7.I smoked almost 2 packs of newport 100s a day for about 10 years.

I quit when I was very sick for a week. I was hacking up green crap. The smokes tasted terrible, just like the mucus. Food also tasted terrible.

I couldn-t stop eating, but I could avoid the smokes because the taste, and even smell was just like the mucus.

I avoid smokes that first few days of being sick, ended up being sick a good week and a half or so, and by the end I realized I had gone without smoking. From that point on I was done.

The $80 a week of saved cash was nice, and I physically feel stronger as a result.

Next time you are sick, try it. The combination of symptoms may help mask the cig withdrawls as it did for me.

Good luckFind another -habit- like chewing gum or eating on sunflower seeds. That would probably help, it did for my brother.
:)the cinammon nicorette worked great for me. It was much harder to quit if i was drinking so avoid it if that triggers you.Stop buying cigarettes. Scrounge them off other people instead. This will slow you down.i quit cold turkey when i had a bad three day asthma attack and wanted just one puff and thought i was going to diemy uncle quit by taping pictures of his family on his cartons.Dont smoke, you smell and look sick.take the
gum r patches.
they will save u money?
