How can i get my mom and stepdad to stop smoking? -
my mom and step-dad smoke allot. (cigarettes) i tell them all the facts and how it hurts me, and my stepdad goes -when you stop biting your nails, ill stop smoking!- and storms away. then i go back with -Biting my nails won-t put tar in my lungs!- then it turns into an argument. my mom just goes -i know hunny. I-m trying- but she-s not! what can i do to make them stop?!As an ex-smoker I-m sorry to tell you that there is nothing you can do. The person really needs to want to stop themselves and be motivated to do something about it. I used to see all those horrible ads and my husband would look at me, but I didn-t care, I enjoyed smoking and that was it.I would stop asking them if it just leads to fights, you can-t live their lives no matter how much it upsets you that they smoke.It-s an addiction already.. theres nothing really YOU can do about it... try something else.. maybe like a doctor or someone in the medical fields can help.
