How long have you stopped smoking? -
It-s my third day of No-smoking.my brain is making excuses for me to start again,
what can i tell myself so i stay motivated?Smoking is injurious to health.I can understand your feeling but your health is more important.Try not to see ciggarete packets or someone smoking.Try to tell yourself to stop smoking.Always immediately think of something else if your brain is making exuses again.i read somewhere that anytime you get a craving for a cigarette. Just drink water so you keep your mouth busy [=
or chew gum..
I admire you because my dad has been smoking for so many years and has no intention to stop.. Its nice to see someone who cares about their health and people around them
It also leaves off a bad stench and coating on everything
Anyways goodluck and stay healthy! [=chew gum and keep yourself occupied exercising or cooking or working. i heard if u stay a week not smoking then it would be even easier on you with much less craves.. good luck i know u can do it ;)You cant smoke because you have to plant a garden. You have to clean behind your toilet. And then you have to volunteer at the animal shelter. Turn off the TV so you don-t hear those anti-smoking ads that repeat the word -smoking- over and over. Your very close...good luck.I never started smoking to I had no need to stop smoking.
You can tell your brain (actually your brain tells you) about the harmful effects of smoking) and that you almost certainly will lead a a healthier and longer life when you do not smoke.
You can also figure out how much money a day it costs you to smoke. Then multiply tat by 365 days a year and lets say 40 or 50 years. Think about all the good things that you can do with this am out of money.
I know of one case where the father fell asleep on the sofa while smoking. There was a fire and his two beautiful daughters were killed. He was even a volunteer fireman. A divorce ensued.
The smoke is not just no good for you but also for all the others who are exposed to it.
Some people even justify the taking of drugs by saying that it is no worse than smoking.
Your brain will tell you all he ways that you will be better off not smoking
Continue with quitting smoking. You will be better off in so many ways.(never started smoking, actually).
Try telling yourself that now it-s easier than yesterday and tomorrow will get better than today. And chew some Orbit if you are so damn nervous.
My gf quit smoking when we went on a 7-days trekking trip on the mountains and after that she never started again because of the -long- time passed since quitting.
-The power is inside you-!Use something else to forget that like clove, candy etc.. It will help you to forget about that. Make somekind of resolution that you are not gonna touch that again.this might be silly, but here it goes: print out a picture of destroyed/diseased lung on the different places in your house. post it maybe in the bathroom, inside your closet, inside drawers, slip it inside the current book you-re reading(if you have one), and such (just please, not the refrigirator :) )... that way, you would be constantly reminded of what your lungs would look like if you continue smoking..
and of course, have a partner(s) during your journey thru a smoke-free life. he/she/they could keep you motivated and support you as well. :)
good luck!dont do it, it will get easier i promise. i stopped smoking for 2 years this December. i went cold turkey, however i didnt smoke that much anyways 5 a day maybe.
Once a smoker, you-ll always be a smoker and have those cravings, you-ve just got to be strong enough to say noOne year - I feel great!!! Food tastes good again, I can smell again, and I don-t stink anymore!!! Life is great, but only you can convince yourself to stop.
Good luck!I have only quit for 2 weeks now, but believe me, the hard part is over. Take that $4 you would normally spend on cigs a day (assuming you smoked a pack) and put it in a jar, then at the end of the month take that $120 and splurge. It will give yourself a reward you can see (as the health effects are not as evident as a jar full of money usually). This is my way of quitting, and it works so far.You can just bear by not smoking or try to take some (safe) pills which can actually help you stop smoking or it can replace smoking. It has been three yrs. since my last cigarrette...tell yourself that you will be so dissapointed in yourself if you smoke one now and that the cravings will get less intense as the days go on...you can do it, and you-ll be so much healthier, and not to mention you-ll smell nicer too! lol..keep it up, you can do it!!-What?- she asked as her cigarettes ashes fell on her keyboard...me I never drink or smoke and as for your question my best suggestion would be to resist the temptation to smoke because it can cause many problems for you and ultimately you will end up killing yourself
