Some helpful suggestions would be greatSmoking is more of a psychological addiction than it is a physical one. This means that you-ll have to eliminate your daily routines that lead you to smoking. For example, you have your morning coffee and newspaper, and then a cigarette. If you can-t break your routines, try changing them just a little bit (sit in another chair, read a different newspaper, etc...). Small things like this matter. If you have real desire to stop smoking and it your own willingness, then you could ask a hypnotherapist who specialises in Stop Smoking sessions to hypnotise you which will help you stop in 1-2 sessions only. And unlike many people think, it is not something where you loose control over yourself - real hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and that-s why the willingness to stop smoking must come from you. You-ll likely be asked -why do you want to stop?-, and if the answer is -because I want to stop, because I am concerned about my health-, a hypnotherapist can help. If you answered -because my parents told me so-, the hypnotherapist couldn-t help. Make sure you go for a reputable, accredited hypnotherapist, and do not confuse hypnotherapist with hypnotist which is a separate branch of hypnosis usually associated with stage hypnosis. Good luck with quitting, you-ll feel tonnes better and healthier...I know that it is hard. But :Cold Turkey- is still the best way to quite. That means stop completely. Good Luck PemI wish I had the answer. don-t let anyone tell yuo that it is easy cuz it isn-t I am trying to do it now.My dad had to quit smoking when he had a heart attack. He said his doctor had come into his hospital room. Dad was all tensed up and ready to fight with him about quitting smoking. The doctor said, -You-ve been without cigarettes for ___ days now. Think about it.- Then he turned around and walked out.
He told us this story and said he had turned that into -who is stronger, you (cigarettes) or me?- Okay. At least it worked.
Mom went to a hypnotist (it-s hard for one spouse to quit smoking when spouse #2 is still puffing away). She wasn-t sure whether it was the hypnosis per se or her Scottish heritage (I-m paying for this, and it had better work). Post-hypnotic phrase to repeat: I do not want to smoke, I do not need to smoke, I do not like to smoke.
I was in college and living in the dorms at the time, and boy was I glad. In stressful times, an innocent glance can be interpreted as -I told you so.- (-Go to your room! and stay there!! for 40 years!!!-)
Mom kept a carton of cigarettes in the freezer from 1983 to 2004 (when we moved). Good thing she didn-t need to relapse when we moved, as the paper on the cigarettes probably had disintegrated or was about to disintegrate, and I believe she would have suffered severe facial burns if she had tried to smoke the cigarettes.
Both Mom and Dad were dedicated smokers for at least 25 years (Dad maybe 30-35 years), and both passed away due to smoking-related illness (Dad on 8-29-03, Mom on 3-29-06). This is partly genetic predisposition to being affected more strongly by tobacco than the general population and partly, well, being dedicated smokers. It still may be a statistically small number of smokers who get cancer, but the number of nonsmokers who get cancer is a much smaller pool; and I have to say that giving up smoking probably improves your chances greatly of avoiding these health problems.sweety, its called will power.
its bad for you.
so just stop.I hate to be simplistic- you really have to decide not to buy any more cigarettes. Cold turkey. Make the decision. For me, I got scared when Dana Reeve died of lung cancer- and she wasn-t a smoker. It will be hard for a few days, maybe a week or two. You are stronger than a craving. Good luck.Get someone to hide all your cigarettes, and hit you whenever you need them that badly.
keep your mind off of smoking by doing something like running or jogging or find a hobby that-s fun.Quit sitting so close to the fire, that might be the problem.once u start smoking u can-t stop....u r addicted 2 it
srry dunno the answeri heard nicotine gum aint badStart chewing gum. Look at some pictures of a cancerous lung. And check out the link. Cheers!
