Can stop-smoking cause water retention? -
My husband stopped smoking two months ago. He has been diagnosed with high uric acid recently. Complaining from a lot of swelling in his lower legs and feet. He thinks it is because he stopped smoking. He turned 38 yesterday and has been smoking at the age of 12. He had to stop smoking due to a recent medical examination concluding he needed to make this decision. He might be eating more salty foods, like potato chips, etc. Read labels for sodium. One serving shouldn-t be more than 200 Mg-s.Make sure he-s drinking plenty of water too.
If his edema (swelling) continues, have him see a doctor real soon, OK? His blood pressure might be up also....
You sound like a wonderful wife.
Good luck! :)
