How to stop smoking NOW? -

How to stop smoking NOW? -

i have been smoking for 10 years and am trying to conceive a baby. i don-t drink alcohol, i exercise and eat well. i have tried many things to give up smoking. does anyone have some practical advice on stopping without supplementsI also smoked for 10 years. I have never quit smoking in those ten years and my weak attempts at quitting never lasted longer than a day. I have been wanting to quit for while now and am very anti most supplements so did quite a bit of research before finding something that worked for me. By the way I did try Allen Carr-s book. It is fantastic as everything he says is true, but it just was not enough to help me. Perhaps the workshop could help?

I was recommended hypnotherapy by a collegue. I have not smoked a single cigarrette in 2 full weeks now. It has been pretty tough, but totally worth it as I can notice differences in energy levels, my skin etc. I was very lucky to find a hypnotherapist that specialised in removing the need to smoke. This happened in one 1 hour session. I would totally recommend it as even though its been pretty tough (still not as bad as I had ever imagined) - I have actually never gotten to the point of even trying to light a smoke in the last two weeks. I can handle other people smoking. I have survived social scene-s etc.

The first week got rid of most of my nicotene cravings, and the past week has been getting over the mental cravings ie -I-v had a bad day and need to have smoke now!- But everyday gets easier and easier and I look forward to being a non smoker for the rest of my life.

Just be sure to try find someone that either comes recommended or is established as a practicing professional of hypnosis and hypnosis to quit smoking, or preferably both! Good luck! And really, once you have been nicotene free for a bit you will seriously wonder why you were so addicted in the first place!you can try to replace the cigarette with something. for example my aunt used a tooth brush, everytime she would urge to smoke she would either brush her teeth or just stick the brush in her mouth. You could also try a cucumber or carrot. Lemon Drops are also known to help people, sometimes even throat losengers. This should help with the physical addiction, the mental one is another story. For that I would imagine your goal and nothing else. everytime you want to smoke see yourself pregnant and not wanting to hurt your unborn baby.lecithin, red licorice-unless diabetic, multivitamin, valerian root, sunflower seeds...if you don-t take supplements you are not preparing your body for a baby-s health and you are not replacing the nutrients robbed from your body by cigs, i smoked from age 14 -22 and am 51just let ur husband take the money and go shopping for a while and you wont be able to by cigars OR you could reduce the cigars u take a day like whats your average then reduce it by 1 and so on and keep going then till its 1 and some how just stop!

lol i wish u all the best and i hope u do stopI don-t know if this could help and I don-t know if you-ve tried it since you said that you have tried many things, but my mom quit and it has been 2 years and she hasn-t touched a cigarette. She was on Wellbutrin (Bupropion) and it helped her quit smoking.Hi Sarah, I stopped on the 18/12/07
I just stopped.
I just decided not to do it any more.

this is a head thing, once you get your head right it is easy

no cravings no nuffin, if this is the right time for you you will do it.

ps I smoked for nearly 20 years, 40 a day

Good luckstart by smoking a certain number a day (we-ll say 20).
every day, smoke one less cigarette.

if thats too quick, try taking one away every 2 days.

the key is to have determination to quit. good luck! =)try excersising longer and harder. you-ll like throw your pack away when your gasping for oxygen. worked for me , i wanted to throw up after i smoked a cigg after a hard *** work out.Just stop and suffer through the first week. After that, its over and you will rarely want one and the craving will only last 5 mins. Just stop, cold turkey, like that, its that easy.See a therapist or someone who specializes in breaking addictions. It can be the best way to go because someone else who knows what they-re doing is helping you quit. It-s all worth it for the baby.

Good luck!Try chewing gum. If it doesn-t work, then whenever u are craving for a cigarette, try to imagine yourself cussing after smoking.theres a book by allen carr.
he explains things differently. No idea myself. Best way to stop smoking..is to never start. im keep it that way with me.Two words: JUST STOP.
