HELP needed on SMOKING- thx? -
I have successfully stopped smoking for 4 months-used to be a heavy smoker-2packs/dayI have been having unusual cravings to smoke lately.
it seems every time that i am angry-sad-happy--drunk- enjoying a beautiful scenery or song -- i long for a cigarette.
i have experimented with many drugs, yet i find quitting smoking is the hardest- why is it legal?
it-s harder to leave than a gf.....lol
can any of you SMOKERS remind me of why you want to stop smoking-it-s hard to imagine it after i have stopped.
we are all gonna die someday so why stop?
I-m not afraid of dying early-it-s just the process of dieing that scares me
thx a lot--To stop the craving for nicotene, use ten drops lobelia extract under the tongue, whenever you desire a cigarette. Lobelia extract can be purchased at herb stores.
Drink pure water to flush out the nicotene poisons in your body. To know how much to drink daily, divide your weight by 2, and that is how many ounces of water you should drink daily. There are at least twelve known poisons in tobacco products.
Lick a bit of salt with the tip of your tongue every time the craving for a cigarette hits you. This is reported to break the smoking habit within a month of using it.
Eat bananas daily.
Smokers are depleted of Vitamin C, so take a supplement daily or drink a glass of pure orange juice.
The herb calamus is supposed to stop the craving for tobacco. You may want to try a new and successful smoking cessation product called Chantix which is currently the frontrunner and proven way to quit smoking. Even though there is a side effect of increased suicidal tendencies, it can be overcome by simply cutting the daily dosage by half. It-s one of many smoke cessation programs which has a substantial track record of success.
Good luck!I-ve also tried quiting but it-s difficult until i started a nicorette program it-s hard with all the cravings i get but i-ve stopped for a week and that-s a good start,go to www.nicorette.co.za they will support your decision through out i-m getting there. Avoid drinking alcohol for a while GOOD LUCK!!!!!Smoking makes everything harder...you cant run up and down the stairs all day while moving or something w/o being out of breathe...I don-t know about you but my chest hurts alot...2nd hand isnt good for others or animals...sometimes when im sick of if i smoked a lot that day my lungs will hurt...there are plenty of reasons but im a lil tired and its early....but those are a few of why i want to quit....i-ve tired about 5 times in the past 6 years and I still can-t....Cause it smells bad.
It annoys people
It-s REALLY expensive.
Makes your fingers yellow.
Gives you bad breath.
lol, I hope that-s what you-re looking for. You-ve done well! It-s gonna get easier and easier from this point on :)
Good luck and stay strong!I-m not a smoker...I used to pretend to smoke in college to look cool, but I was always choking...I have friends who smoke like chimneys, if they come visit me, I tell them I don-t care what you do...smoke, drink, eat excessively...I-m not a censoring person. And I refuse to live life afraid of death...when it comes it comes.
If you mean by the process of death, the way by which you-ll die...then I-d say - I-d be a little uncomfy with the thought of a lunatic hacking me to pieces with a dull ax. But if that-s the way it may be, So Be IT!
As for the smoking thing...I treat my addictions, and I whittle them down when I think it-s time by going cold turkey. I just set my mind to IT, as I do everything else!
The only addiction I have now is being ARTcoholic. I work every minute available. It keeps me sane.
Chew gum, if you want to quit smoking.
I-m not so sure I know what you are asking.
The subject of death is so much part of your questions.
So I guess I-m not helping you with this answer!
Sorry MX!,
Greci.this is a tough one- i smoke, and i don-t really want to quit...i have accepted my horrible smoker fate..but for you friend, you have done the hardest thing you will ever do so there is no point going back...i bet you could out run me, i bet you feel better in the morning, not spitting up brown **** in the shower, i bet food tastes better to you, i bet you don-t wake up at night and can-t get back to sleep because the funny feeling in the back of your throat is making you suspect cancer, i bet you smell better than me, your teeth are probably whiter than mine, you don-t have to stand outside with me in this rediculous cold weather...get a pack of hubba-bubba and go blow some giant bubbles for the nieghbourhood kids...cheers..Well.. death doesn-t scare you but how about having emphysema for 25 years before you die? My entire life my grandfather was one tons of medications, inhalers, nebulizers, and finally for the last 5 to 8 years oxygen. I don-t know what it is like not to hear him hacking his lungs out. He then developed congestive heart failure which can also be caused by smoking. Just going grocery shopping exhausted him. He often mentioned feeling like a horse had just kicked him in the chest.
My other grandfather was also on oxygen.. but he still smoked.. I was terrified most of my childhood that he was going to blow himself up.
As for why it is legal... it is legal so that people don-t lose money and jobs.
I say all of this not as someone who has never smoked... imagine that.. I-ve seen all of this and still did/do it. I-m trying not to anymore though.
