How i can stop smoking? -

im heavy smoker i wanna to stop smokingI recommend cutting down gradually until your quit date. I did this. I cut down to half a pack. I did this for three months. I smoked by the puff, not by the cigarette. I took only the amount of nicotine that was necessary to satisfy my urge to smoke and put the rest of the cigarette out.

After doing this for three months I quit cold turkey.

Now I-m eating more candy to distract me but its been 4 months. I have urges but they don-t last more than a second or two. If they-re lasting more than that then you-re concentrating on the cigarette. Don-t do it. Concentrate on something else.I am a heavy smoker myself. I smoke around a pack a day. I have tried gum, lozenges, cold turkey, and Chantix. (Cold turkey was the worst!)

Last year, I quit for 3 months using Chantix. I know there are some bad raps out there for it and you wont know what kind of side effects you will get from it unless you try it. I had weird dreams and it felt like they lasted all night long resulting in me feeling like I never got a goodnights sleep. I only took the pill for a month but after getting off of the drug I could watch other people smoke without even wanting to light up. It was great. I made some bad decisions after the 3rd month and ended up picking up a cigarette and became addicted again very quickly.

Now I am going to try the smokeless cigarette. The one I am getting doesn-t actually have nicotine in it - it just tastes like cigarettes. It is designed to help you break mental habit. If you are habit forming (like I am, i.e. smoking at certain times of the day, after you eat, in the car, lighting up because you see someone else smoking, ect) I believe this could help. I ordered it earlier this week so I wont get it until next week at the latest so I cant comment on how it works for me but I have seen people use it and not smoke cigarettes at all.

You could try the patch, gum, ect but I have seen many people pick cigarettes right back up after only weeks. I know it works for some and if you haven-t tried those things yet then it couldnt hurt. For me, I don-t want to quit for health reasons...I just want more money. I will not buy new clothes if I need them if it means that I won-t be able to smoke. I know its bad but what else can you do when you are addicted?

It-s a hard habit to break and I wish you the best of luck. Email me if you need someone to help you through it. I am in the same boat myself.there-s a bunch of different products specially designed to help you quit smoking. For example, there-s a special gum, but I-m not sure what it-s called. If none of those products work for you, try to stop smoking for a good reason. example:my mom quit smoking because she was pregnant, and she didn-t want the baby to get sick. find a reason ex.: you could get cancer, your toungue may need to be removed or something like that.if you want to do something, you can. I know your a heavy smoker and its hard but my grandpa whos been smoking all his life and like every few hours, has now stopped. Its just the fact of making that decision and most importantly FOLLOWING IT! not saying i will then not. just throw all your packs out, dont buy anymore and you might want to go to the doctor or pharmacy for a those nicotine gums, patchs, etc.
hope this helps, good luck!Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. cOk this is how i did it:
I was bad about smoking in my car... i wanted my cig in the morning on the way to work and i wanted it on the way home.

When my pack finished i didn-t buy a new one. Then while i was in the car i would chew gum and sing along with the stereo... if you keep playing songs that you know that words to... sooner or later you will be at your destination..

I quit for 6mo. then i went through a nasty break up and started again... now i-m in the same boat as before :( You will never be cured form this addiction and you need to be careful, because all it takes is one cig to make you stray!

GOODLUCK! I know how hard it is!The best way is U should go and meet the doctor. They sure must got some ways for this kind of problem. But if u don-t want to do that, you may try eat chewing gum instead of smoking. It really works. Try...I went cold turkey, but most can-t do that. Call 1-800-QuitNow. I hear they are some of the best counselors. Good luck.use chantix tablets.
