How Can I Help People Stop Smoking ? -

How Can I Help People Stop Smoking ? -

After the death of Allen Carr I have finally decided to spend some of my free time to help other people BASH THE WEED. I have made a real commitment for the new year to help other people give up as I have.

Due to smoking in 2006 we lost two dear friends and also two of my close family have died of cancer related illnesses in the past. To lose Allen Carr this year was a horrible loss as he has done so much for the cause, he was a titan in the war against the horrible habit.

Also new laws in 2007 will stop smoking in public places in the UK so gives people a real reason to stop. All profits of the website will be used to fund charities and further the products and development of the website.

My goal is to help as many people stop smoking as I can.

http://www.smokingcycle.comWhat a wonderfully noble idea! I believe that you will find his volunteer effort extremely satisfying. Just imagine, for every two people that you assist to quit smoking, you are saving one life! We-re what you ever did that type of returned on your time investment?
First of all, you must realize that you cannot -make people stop smoking.- The harder you try, the more they will resist; it is only human nature.
What you can do is -plant the seed- in their mind, sit back and watch it germinate. In other words, you can get them thinking about quitting, given positive reinforcement when they mention quitting and when they are ready, lead them to useful resources. The final step, is support after they quit. You must realize that this is an addiction that we are dealing with and relapsing is part of this addiction. It is not quite as easy as -the easy way- where it is not as hard as most people imagine.
We are currently constructing a program for volunteers, such as yourself to help people quit smoking. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Good luck in your noble effort!

Sincerely,

And you have to tell the that of course it won-t happen in a day,no it will talk a time,You can convince them at first to smoke less so that they could give up (for example: Instead of 10,he can smoke 5 and so on).Tell them that you must think of your son if he always see you smoking he will start imitating in earlier age.
Good luck and never give uplisten the world is not in ur hands.the things u do is wat u do
u cant stop the world from smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
the thing u can do is if u smoke ,then stop smoking
the only suggetion any one can givei was a 40 a day smoker until alan carr-s book was recommended to me..

i knew he had been diagnosed with lung cancer but i didnt realise he had died

i owe that man alot

good luck with your goal Phillip and i will take a look at your web siteA couple of tips you can pass onto people:

don-t keep ciggs on you, don-t make it convenient to start again.

If you MUST smoke, discipline yourself to drive 20 mile/10km to a store far away, you-ll smoke a single cigerette out of the whole pack, then throw the rest away... you must now make up for the slip by going home, taking a shower, and think about how much time and money was wasted on doing just that... even though it seems redudant, I feel that real life smoking wastes just as much as this inconvenient smoking.I started smoking for a very stupid reason. when i was in college some guy was smoking next to me. Stupid me thought i would try one and that would be that. Boy was i wrong. i came home for Christmas and my dad warned me that i would get addicted. I just did not listen. I have smoked on and off for the past 9 years. My doc gave me a new drug called chantix. you keep smoking while you take the first pack of of the drug (i think its 10 days) and than you stop smoking, but keep taking the pills until you are ready to stop. My advice for those who smoke or are thinking about it. DONT even have one cig.. once you do you are hooked and for those who already do smoke. STOP. i know its easier said than done, but you will feel better, you will smell better and most of all..you will live lot longer. It is very nice quiestion and decession - we can-t stop smoking habit fully. But we try ,we can reduce the % of the smokers. In my experience now a days girls are using smoking more then gents. try to make an association (group) for anti smokers and where ever we see the smokers convince them to avoid smoking.
