Please give me a list of reasons why
And please dont just say addictioni dont now either, y do they make these horrible things, they kill people and yet the shops still sell them, if it was up to me i-d distory them all but i guess it not as easy as tht, most of my family smoke,(thank god my mum and dad dont, my dad used to, but i made him quit buy destoryin all his fags when he were out, with the help of mum) but i made one of my auties promise me they would quit 4 new years! anyway im just hopin the rest of my family will soon quit! it really upsets me =-[it is an addiction, a physical and emotional addiction. It is stronger even than heroin in it-s addictive qualities, it is readily available (nicotine) and still socially acceptable.(tho less so now than in the past) And people do enjoy it. It is something that gives some a sense of control over the choices they can make in their lives too.
There are as many reasons as there are smokers for why they continue the habit.personally i think its jus u get used to having it around ad when its not there u want one cuz u feel like u are missing something.
example: i would drive to school everymorning smokin one and idk when i run out i feel like im missing something.Tobacco contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive drug.It has an over 70% addiction rate as almost as high as illegal drugs. That is why .I really dont know. My friend let herself get addicted to it to fit in with her -new- friends. I feel bad for her.Why cant people stop smoking? -

Though I have stopped smoking now, the stains on the teeth wont go. Going to dentist is an expensive affair. Any one can help with home remedies? Thank you.A mix of baking soda and peroxide works well. Make it into a thick paste, brush twice a day in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Not recommended for prolonged use can cause more abrasion than regular toothpaste because it is more granular than toothpaste.
Having a cleaning by a professional even once a year or once in a while, in your case, would do the best job and be best for your health. Smokers are much more prone to Oral Cancer and Oral Cancer is now #6 on the list of leading cancers. (It would also give you a better start at removing the tobacco stains and being able to keep it off)

There-s specific toothpastes that are for that sort of thing. I-ve also heard that rubbing strawberries on your teeth whitens them... not sure if it-ll work for tobacco stains but you can try. Buy a new toothbrush fore sure!Colgate Simply White Night (est. $15)
If you-re too busy to spend part of your day waiting for tooth whiteners to work, whitening while you sleep may sound appealing. Colgate Simply White Night is a brush-on whitener that The Wall Street Journal calls one of the easiest to use. Because it-s a brush-on formula, it-s easier to get in between uneven teeth where a strip might not reach. The gel is absorbed, so there-s no need to rinse. Colgate also uses 6% peroxide -- the maximum allowable for over-the-counter tooth whiteners. There are products on the market, go to a pharmacy near you ask the people who work there to introduce to you some of them.
Read the instructions on the label and use the product that appeals to your common senses.well you can try crest white strips. only $50 for 14 days! ooooorrrrrrrrr you can get baking soda and water and brush your teeth after every meal.It is the dentist can cureDental bleaching. What is the best way to remove tobacco stains off the teeth? -

For thousands of years people have been
using plants for medicine. In our time this
practice is usually called Aroma therapy. In
practicing Aroma therapy we can heal
psychologically and physically.
Did you know that apple cider pills can be
used to drain fat cells in the body? Or that
Lavender essential oil used in a diffuser can
calm your nerves and uplift your spirits.
Have you heard of smelling salts used to
treat conditions? To calm your nerves you can
put rock salt and Sandalwood essential oil in a
small jar (mix it together before) and smell it to
calm your nerves. Remember to put a top on
the jar to preserve the freshness of the
mixture.
Aroma therapy can calm your nerves but it
isn’t used widely to aid in quitting smoking. The
use of plants as medicine is used throughout
the world.
We’ve all seen the natural herbs advertised
in drugstores, the internet and on t.v. to
cleanse the body of nicotine and help with
withdrawal symptoms. Well there’s an easier
way to fight nicotine cravings with one of God’s
plants. What is it? Cinnamon. Just chew
Wrigley’s Big Red Gum (cinnamon) to fight
cravings of nicotine or any other harmful drug.
I met a woman who was very active in her
church and she told me that cinnamon gum
reduced cravings for nicotine. I tried it and
found it to be true. She has introduced many
people to this idea and has helped many people
quit smoking. She also suggests writing notes
to yourself around your house not to smoke.i was a pretty heavy smoker myself...just quit abruptly 14 days ago to be exact....after 12 years of smoking...ofcourse i have quit twice before....and always had a relapse...see, quitting is easy..its staying smoke free thats difficult....try to fill in ur smoke times with other menaingful and rewarding activities....atleast initially wen u are vulnerable to relapse, avoid ur smoking buddies and remove all visual and other cues that trigger the urge to light up...such as ur ashtray....if u are/ were a heavy smoker, then the initial period after quitting, u can have some low moods / mood swings etc...just hang in there....start exercising...chill out with non smokers....and all the best.....SIMPLY STOP SMOKINGIt-s called -Mind Power-!! Try it, you maybe surprised. My boyfriend was a chain smoker and bc of recent problems he reallllllly needed to cut back. He used to smoke at least 12 packs a day and now he is down to 1 1/2....!...its only taken a month and a 1/2. What we did is we slowly brought his # of cartons down every other week and then we started switching to lights. and now he is down to 2 cartons a week about and they are lights.....little does he know though that next week he is going to 1 1/2...lol....but you should try the same method. It takes awhile but it gets the job done you know!?Hi,
Great post! Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I-ve ever done in my life, and I thought I wasn-t addicted!
Here-s what I tried before finding success: hypnosis, those fake cigaretts, the nicotine patch, and group therapy....none worked.
I finally tried this HERBAL patch I bought 6 months ago on the net. They claim a 97% success rate. Well, it worked! They had a sweet deal which was a free 10 day trial for only $3.95 including shipping (it-s regularly $53 for 10 days)!!
I don-t know if they still have that deal, but it-s worth a try.
http://www.alllsite.info/stop-smoking-fr…
Good LuckI have relatives who have used the patch and they don-t smoke anymore.....not chain smokers but at least 2 packs a day.
Also, I heard that you can be hypnotised to quit smoking too....it-s the power of suggestion but you need to be one of the small percentage of people who can be hypnotised.
Will power........number one......it-s really all about will power. Good luck!Quitting smoking is a great opportunity to learn about ourselves.
Congratulate yourself on having the desire to stop - then you are over the worst, but still need to maintain your resolve. It-s just so easy to start thinking that just one won-t hurt, but it does. Just one achieves nothing except feeling the need for another. Whatever you do, don-t have just one. Beware - alcohol will weaken your resolve.
Here-s a few home-brewed tips that might be useful.
It-s not just nicotine addiction - there are 50+ chemicals in cigarettes. Also the main problem is habit.
We have been used to having body sensations which we translate as -my body needs something-, which we have attempted to satisfy by having a cigarette.
When we try to stop smoking, we still get these -my body needs something- sensations, and we still feel that we want a cigarette. We have to train our body to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we have to work out what it is that we actually need.
A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of the toxic substances in our body. Another good substitute is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with the water.
Another thing to do is to find an activity which occupies the mind or body. Go swimming - nobody wants to smoke while they are swimming. Slowly, as our body adjusts and translates the -want something- feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know its not a cigarette that the body really needs, because as soon as we-ve had one we still have the feeling, and want another!
We will have a few bouts of feeling or even being short tempered. We must try to bite our lip, and control; ourselves. Recognise the short temper as being the removal of toxins which are trying to find a way out. They went in through the mouth, and they try to get out that way to. We must learn to keep our mouth closed, and force the toxins out the other way.
After we have stopped for a while we will begin to feel that just one wont to any harm.
All that leads to is a desire for just another one. We must guard very strongly against the desire to have just one.1. report to a detox clinic for addiction management - yellow pages in your city will give you names of suitable places
2. get counselling from a trained psychiatrist
3. pay your dues to the pushers..... or they-ll get you back again into the habit.
4. shun so-called friends who are also into this habit
5. cold turkey ......sleep over a full weekend getting up only to eat. Drink lots of water in this period. Withdrawal pangs will disappear over 72 odd hours (physical effects of smoking only)
6. Believe you can do it. form mental imagery why you want to quit and visualise it whenever you are tempted
7. All the best!!get nicotene patches o rgum--or find a new habbit like cough drops when ever u need a cig..take a hanful of cough drops
and cough drops wont kill youdear Friend only self confidence we can stop try to control the consumption there is no treatment god bless ueat daily one apple daily continously up to 40days ,
results starts on 41 day belive me its effective.
