How do i get a 7 year old, a 9 year old, a 11 year old, and a 13 year old to stop smoking? -
my friends apartment complex most of the girls smoke i would not care but their 7,9,11,and 13. I-ve told them it will kill them but they wont stop. please help, i dont want my friends to dieTry showing them what smoking can do, get pictures of lung cancer, mouth and throat cancer, someone with emphysema. Better yet, if you can get a professional to talk to them, they can show the pictures and make them understand. I mean someone from a clinic or hospital who could take time to address this very important situation.
Find something online you can show to them; look at the Cancer Society for ideas or contact them for materials; they are probably free.
You are a true friend for wanting to save these young innocents.
It might be possible to offer them a challenge or set up a contest-maybe by involving an adult buying something they want if they stop. Or have one monitor the other and have a system of consequences if they have a cigarette eg no pizza for you this time, you had a cigarette! Or can-t come to the mall with us today because you smoked! or denying inclusion in going to a movie etc.
Good luck and God bless you for caring! You said you wouldn-t care, but then you said you don-t want your friends to die?
Anyway,
Tell them they-re endangering their lives and yours. Because of inhaling the smoke and breathing it out on you. Tell them side effects such as smelly breath, yellow nails, and yellow teeth.
Because they-re at such a young age, they obviously want guys to notice them. That could be the reason but just tell them, no guy is going to want to kiss an ashtray or be a widower for 60 years after you croak at a young age.Usually when kids these age are smoking, it because they are looking for attention and they think its cool, fun, or attractive to smoke. Maybe you should tell them that getting cancer isn-t cool, having a hairy tongue isn-t attractive, and not as many older people smoke as they might think, because they know the dangers of smoking later in life. You really can-t I-m sorry. You can-t just tell them to stop either - I know a lot of people who smoke and stuff and I gave up trying to get them to stop. If they really are your friends then tell them your true feelings about it and that you-re friendship is on the line if they continue to smoke. If I was them I would either call a help line or gradually start to cut down on smoking, because my friends mean more to me than anything.
I hope they will listen!Well you could be brave and tell their parents this. I know you-re thinking that you don-t want to be a tattle-tale, but if you really care about them you-ll do whatever it takes. Even if they-re going to act mean to you afterwards, then so be it.You-re right to be concerned, in a few years they-ll be struggling to quit and wish they-d never started. Unfortunately, there isn-t much you can do, they-ll have to decide to stop on their own.holy cwap! threnten to report them to the police... then do it in a week- they won-t get into much trouble because they r minors, but it will scare the crap out of them hope i helpedyou tell their parents, and their parents should give them an *** whooping that they will never forget.well you can tell their parents . but theyll be mad . but then again they dont have to know who told . sorry if i wasnt any help ..:)Give then some candy...what kinda apartment is this!? 7 years old?!?!How do i get a 7 year old, a 9 year old, a 11 year old, and a 13 year old to stop smoking? -

just read roxy-s resolved question on stopped smoking 2days ago.
i stopped smoking3 week ago and my gums are now sore and bleeding too surely this isnt just coinsidence?I quit 7 months ago. I did have a sore mouth after I quit. I had a lot of mouth ulcers. Apparently this is an after-effect of quitting ( I remember looking it up somewhere!)
Use an antibacterial mouthwash, such as listerine, and if it doesn-t go, go and see your dentist for some advice.
If you are using nicotene gum or inhalator, change to another form of nicotene replacement, as they may be irritating your gums. No, thats the good sign.Did you smoke for a long time? if you did then you inffected your body! this is what happens becuase of smoking see your doctor their is medicine that helps you!Read this:
http://www.data-yard.net/10o/gums.htm...
23% of non-smokers had sever gum desease, only 7% of smokers had it though. It may be a result of stopping, although I never had this when I stopped. However a trip to the dentist is best bet Even if it is related to stopping, a wash and brush up by the dentist will help freshen your mouth and get your taste buds working again. Congratulations on stopping .... keep it up ... its easy right ..Stopped smoking? -

I just stopped smoking. When can I start exercising? -
I just stopped smoking two days ago. I was sick of the way it made me feel. I want to start running again. I assume the smoking damaged my lungs enough that I shouldn-t just start running like I used to; how long should I wait before starting an exercise routine?
Start off by jogging, and if that is even still too much for you, try powerwalking without taking any breaks.
You should do this for a week or two, and no smoking.
After the 1-2 weeks is up, depending on how you feel, you should start either jogging faster or running.
If you still don-t feel right after 1 to 2 weeks, try jogging until you feel more comfortable, remember to breathe while you are jogging/running and bring water.
It would also help if you are able to jog/run in a place that has good air quality and is not too polluted. You can exercise right away, you don-t have to wait just because you were a smoker. It actually might be easier for your non smoking routine to exercise.
It most likely will be better for you and your lungs to start off slowly.
Try a walk run program to get yourself back into shape but if you haven-t been running in a long time you might want to start off with walking first and then go into a walk run program which will lead you back into a full run.
Good luck.
Just run. You may not be able to run like you used to. Don-t worry, you-ll know your limitations when you try. If you find yourself too tired to go on or faster, you-ve found your current limit. It-s no different than beginning running any other time, regardless whether you smoked or not.well i did the oppisite i started smoking to stop eating so much
i work out hard everyday and i am fine
i dont think you need to worry
my plan is to quit again after i lose a bit more
good luckstart with ten minutes of running a day, and then each week add ten minutes.right awayI just stopped smoking. When can I start exercising? -

and I still feel weird. ow long does the weird feeling last? This will depend on a number of factors (how long you smoked, how much you smoked, your own body etc.) and is really too hard to answer. I know for me it was about 2 months before I knew I had totally beaten the nicotine. With each passing day it gets easier and easier. Hang in there, it is worth it.
What is the method you are using to try and quit? I tried many before I found the one that worked for me. Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.

Good Luck and Good QuittingYour body is going through nicotine withdrawl and it should get better with each passiing day.
Perhaps if feeling weird not smoking, put a pen, straw, anything with that need to hold on to something passes.
I am an ex smoker congratulations I am proud of you.Keep up the good work.
Depends on how much you where smoking and how often. It takes about 30 days for the THC to clear your system. It can take another 1-2 months after that to get rid of the side effects.Nicotine is out of your system in about 72 hours, but you will probably feel like this for about a month or so.Stopped smoking a week ago? -
Any good ways to stop smoking cigarettes? -
Any good ways to stop smoking cigarettes? -
Well, yes! First of all, start by smoking ONE less cigarette per day for a week. Slowly your mind and body will adjust. Then over the next 3 weeks, continue to CUT your smoking. Remember it helps to have friends and family for SUPPORT. Tell them you need encouragement to quit. Follow up helps too! Change your diet pattern too, in that you start to cut out heavy salt and pepper use (because your taste buds will start coming back!!! A POSITIVE for quitting soon and holding out). Next, be sure to drink plenty of water, juices and NOT COFFEE which is also a stimulant). And ONE final thing which I know helps: Ask God for your desire for smoking to be taken away. MY AUNT was a smoker for more than 30 years and did NOT know how to quit: our family of about 5 different people prayed for her and her desire for smoking is GONE! God Bless!
Once you get down to 30 days and have only 1 cigarette, start to REWARD yourself in OTHER ways to give yourself POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Go out to the movies, for dinner, go jogging (increases your endorphins and good blood circulation) or for a brisk 20 min walk daily! This also helps your motivation. After ONE year of quitting cigarettes take a NICE VACATION because you deserve it! Besides, it has already been paid for since you QUIT SMOKING!!!This is the CHEAPEST METHOD AROUND!!!Best solution is Get-Paid-To-Stop-Smoking.com

Get the Facts
Easyway, founded by Allen Carr in 1983, has the highest independently verified 12-month success rate (75.8% for a smoker completing the program) of any quit smoking technique and a 90% satisfaction rating.
Compare Easyway to other methods and see for yourself why Easyway is called “The Cadillac of quit smoking methods.”
The Allen Carr Method
HOW THE METHOD WORKS
Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.
It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!
Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.
The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit with the Allen Carr Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….
TO BE FREE!
What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?
The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.
The Allen Carr Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.
No Gimmicks!
The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!
The Allen Carr Method is successful because:
It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
It is instantaneous and easy.
It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
You need not gain weight.
You will not miss smoking.
Medical Endorsements
A personal view from Professor Judith Mackay MBE, JP, FRCO (Edin), FRCP (Lon), World Health Organisation Advisory Panel on Tobacco and Health
“I have no hesitation in supporting Allen Carr’s work. Many clinics use some of his techniques but it would appear that few do it in quite such a successful package.”
Carole Johnson, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Unit, Tyne Tees
“his success rate was such that, when budgets allow, we continue to use Easyway for work with specific groups and individuals.”
Dr Anil Visa BSc, MBBch., FRCA, Consultant – Royal Hospitals NHS Trust – Royal London Hospital
“I have observed the Allen Carr method at first hand and have found it to be very successful and I wholeheartedly support it as an effective way to quit smoking.”
Dr William Green, Head of Psychiatric Dept, Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong
“It is a remarkable fact that Allen Carr, on his own admission a non-professional in behaviour modification, should have succeeded where countless psychologists and psychiatrists holding postgraduate qualifications have failed, in formulating a simple and effective way to stop smoking.”
Dr Martin Jarvis, Principle Scientist, Imperial Cancer Research
Fund and Reader in Health Psychology, University College London
”...I am more than happy to testify to Allen Carr’s enduring involvement and to recognise the value of the kind of behavioural and cognitive support he provides.”
Dr PM Bray MB CH.b., MRCGP
“I was really impressed by the method. In spite of the Allen Carr organisation’s success and fame, there were no gimmicks and the professional approach was something a GP could readily respect. I would be happy to give a medical endorsement of the method to anyone.”
Celebrity Endorsements
-His method is absolutely unique, removing the dependence on cigarettes, while you are actually smoking. I’m pleased to say it has worked for many of my friends and staff.”
Sir Richard Branson
“Some friends of mine who had stopped using Allen Carr’s method suggested I tried it. I did. It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction. Like those friends of mine, I found it not only easy but unbelievably enjoyable to stay stopped.”
Sir Anthony Hopkins
GOOD LUCK!every time u desire a cigarette
eat the ashDETERMINATION. My bf didnt really want to quit but he just stopped smoking for his NewYear Resolution and he still hasnt had a cigarette to this day no matter how bad he wants one!Just quit cold turkey. The price of the cigarettes ought to be enough to make you want to never ever smoke again. If you would stop cold turkey you could reward yourself with something really very nice. Good luck and God bless.there are no good or easy ways.....you just stopSmoke marijuana instead honestly its much better for you.smoking is a bad habit, always think while attempting to smoke that u r going to do a bad thing, do some other work or engage yourself otherwise, to avoid smoking.it all depends how bad you want to quit ihave been smoking almost 30 years and iquit about 9 weeks ago cold turkey because i was told that is the best way no matter how you do it you have to want to it is not easypachYou have to want to stop and then make it a habit not to buy anymore!!! It wasn-t easy when you started and it won-t be easy quitting...just do it!!yes think in as ma and the consequencesyes both my dad and my grandpa just went cold turkey. that-s the only way.hypnosis is supposed to work really good i have met a few people that tried it and it worked for a couple yrs.Wellbutrin works good and quick. I quit in 3 days after starting the pill. Have to get it perscribed to you. My husband also quick within 3 days of taking it too. It makes you not want to smoke and takes away your cravings and you don-t eat to subsitute smoking. Works really good.Try gum. Try decresing your smoking by each pack, for instance, if you smoke 1 pack a day, try to make it last 2 days, and then the next pack make last 3 days and so on till you eventually just dont need them anymore. Just make sure that you have plenty of support with this. Good luck.determine yourself for it and just quit. i did it that wayThink about how it will feel to leave all your family and friends if smoking kills you!
