in my life timeI quit. ... Just cutt off your sources. Try to avoid goign to places where you will be tempted to buy them. Fill your time with something else when you want a cig. its hard but you can do itdon-t but cigarettes and don-t smoke other peoples either!
There you goStop buying cigarettes.I did it too, I found the first three days were the worst, the rest was really easy.Go on the patches I gave up on News Years Eve and feel great already after less than a week. It is easier than you think and I was on 20 a dayReplacement Replacement Replacement with some other protruding material excreting orificewhat i did was every time I craved a cigarette I forced myself to do 10 press ups(or as many as I could do). The endorphins released from that were enough to stop the carving momentarily, and the subsequent pain of having to keep doing press ups everytime I felt like having a smoke meant I broke the desire to want them...
I also used gum and mints - yes, you will still get cravings, but they will be easier to resist after a few weeks.by having lots of emotional support... tell yourself why you want to stop.. on a regular basis.... perhaps make a list of good and bad things about smoking and not smoking... post it everywhere... try the nicotine patches.... consult a doctor... join a smokers group... exercise.. do more outside activities.. etc... there are lots of creative ways.. you jsut have to be.. well.. creative.. best of luck!My father stopped smoking by chewing gum or eating sun flower seeds whenever he craved for cigarettes. It worked and it kept his mouth busy until the craving was gone. Yes you can feel grumpy, but quiting is not impossible.
+Joker+When I gave up smoking I went to a stop smoking clinic and they used hypnosis. Don-t think that you quit smoking, you need to think of yourself as a nonsmoker. It has been almost 6 years since I became a nonsmoker and I stil Have cravings sometimes. It is a damned tough habit to beat but it can be done. GOOD LUCK!!!!You know how, its just that hard.
Resist the urge, or cave. Its your choice either way.
- 7 weeks without even a puff. Still have cravings.I started smoking for a very stupid reason. when i was in college some guy was smoking next to me. Stupid me thought i would try one and that would be that. Boy was i wrong. i came home for Christmas and my dad warned me that i would get addicted. I just did not listen. I have smoked on and off for the past 9 years. My doc gave me a new drug called chantix. you keep smoking while you take the first pack of of the drug (i think its 10 days) and than you stop smoking, but keep taking the pills until you are ready to stop. My advice for those who smoke or are thinking about it. DONT even have one cig.. once you do you are hooked and for those who already do smoke. STOP. i know its easier said than done, but you will feel better, you will smell better and most of all..you will live lot longer.Ask your doctor about Chantix. It is a pill that eventually makes your body stop craving the nicotine. I don-t think insurance pays for it, but not sure how much it is either. I guess it depends on how bad you want to quit. I have heard that it is successful.make it a spur of the moment thing
don-t give up - giving upIf you really want to stop smoking you can do it...My friend has been smoking ever since she was 13 years old and now she-s 58. One day she decided she needed to quit smoking for the sake of her health and she made it...For the first time couple of weeks I think it was hard for her but she make it. Now she doesn-t smoke...You-ve to want it to stop smoking...and you can do it. If others can do ...I would say you can do it too...Hi,
I quit this time last year having had a 30 a day habit. I-d tried and failed with allsorts until I was recommended this program - see below.
It also came with a money back guarantee - can-t say fairer than that!
All the best. You need to consider the consequences. You-ve already cut your life by 5-10 yrs, wasted on average $1,080 on packs of cigarattes, reduced the size of your brain cells, and more important inhaled alchool! Breathing will get tougher and you will DIE. Smoking is serious. You don-t do it because it-s fun. You need to stop. You basically wasted your life the minute you picked up that first cigare.
PS:
There are also some pills out there that will fix up your brain from the damage of smoking.if you smoke 20 a day, try and smoke 19, and reward yourself for that, and continue decreasing little by littleI have never smoked, but my mother died of cardiac heart disease at the age of 52 after a life time smoking. Cardiac heart disease is the most common death amongst smokers.
John Cleese used to promote the way he gave up, its horrible but worked for him.
He took an ashtray full of cigarette butts and ash, poured it into a jar and filled it with water. Every time he craved a cigarette he would take the top of the jar and smell the contents. This is how smokers smell to non smokers. When you realise this is how you smell all the time maybe that is a way of getting over the craving. eventually your sense of smell will come back, you will come into contact with a smoker and be overwhelmed by the pungent aroma. That is when you are cured.find a sport u like and train,if u don like sports find something to keep your self busy and when u feel like smoking eat chokolate or some food u like.something else,to stop smoking u shud be very DETERMINED to stop and PLEEEEZ don-t GIVE UP,have faith!!!!!How can I stop smoking? -

i don-t want to sound harsh but if you really, actually, want to quit then you will.
you just think you should quit, which is why it-s hardThere is a new safe pill called Chantix, ask you doctor for a prescription, it works miracles i here.won`t power is the best way
i won`t buy any
i won`t accept any
good luck it can be doneQuit or drop dead. Hope that wasn-t too direct for you.Willpower.
And if you only smoke 10 a day, you can give it up quite easily.
I used to smoke 60-80 a day. Never used patches or the gum or any of the useless crap on the market. I just gave it up.try finding something to do that involves you moving around. like sport then when you have the urge to smoke just try holding one but not actually lighting it. just until you feel satisfied.I recommend the patch. Barely there, almost always guarenteed, and you get your fix w/o any of the side effects.its all in mind so when you r dying to smoke a cig have some polo or chewing gum for about a week but dont smoke otherwise you will not able to quit it i have been smoking for about 4 years but from 1 month i quiteed that habit its not healthy. 1 more thing to stay away is never ever touch that cig stic..ok good luck.Well it is easy just tel yourself that you won-t light a cigarat and drink a lot of water everytym you have the gravings.well maybe for like an hour a day go to the gym and that willl keep it off for the rest of the day
it worked for my dadHello Friend,
If you are thinking to stop smoking, please do not divert your mind to other decision.
Smoke will effect on your health directly and on many people surrounding you indirectly.
Whenever you like to smoke, think that you should not be a reason for other person to spoil their health. Because of you, nobody should be suffered. Try this if it works.
Or else, if you are still wanted to smoke, have a chocolate or chewing gum, so that at least for some time, you will forget smoking.
Eventually you will stop smoking. If you get addicted for chocolates and chewing gum, no problem they will not effect your health.
However chocolates are good for health as they avoid formation of gas in our stomach.Try going to a doctor. he can give you medicines that can make your taste to cigarette a bit different and awful. he can instruct you and give you things to do so you can quit smoking.uh ! smoking is really bad !! .. and i can undertand the way u say - feel like im sleep walking - well yeah ,, my uncle was just like u .. he was smoking TOTALLY BAD !! .. and that really affect his body ,,
so .. i saw those steps u can do to quit smoking ..
good luck with that ..
Practical Applications on Quitting Smoking
Here are some things for you to try on your own if you want to stop smoking.
General:
Get plenty of rest. Smoking is one of the hardest addictions to overcome and you need all the energy you can get.
Addictions may be related to brain chemistry imbalances. Good nutrition is very essential, especially during the time you are trying to form new patterns of behavior.
Some habit patterns such as smoking often have triggers that go along with them. For example, sitting in a favorite chair or getting a cup of coffee, then automatically reaching for a cigarette. Try to look for these trigger emotions or habits that go along with your smoking so that you can avoid them.
Avoid being around others who smoke while you are trying to break the habit.
Specific:
Decide on a stopping date. Tell others when it will be so they can encourage you.
Throw all your cigarettes and any related items such as your lighter or matches away. Do not put them where you can get them again -if you need them-.
Do not drink or use any beverages or medicines that contain caffeine or alcohol. During the time you are trying to break your cigarette habit, using any other addicting substances will cause you to be less successful. In addition, this is a good time to strongly consider giving these habits up also, as they are strong stimulants to smoking.
Drink plenty of water and juices during the first week you are quitting. Try to drink at least 6 glasses of water per day. Getting the nicotine out of your system is helped with increased amounts of drinks that do not contain caffeine or alcohol.
At any time during the day that you are at work and crave a cigarette, take a drink of water and go for a 10-20 minute walk. If you are at home, take a cool shower. It is difficult to smoke while in the shower.
Eat simple foods such as salads, fruits, vegetables, and whole wheat breads. Avoid overly spicy and rich foods because they may contribute to the craving for a cigarette. Avoid foods made with white flour, white rice and refined foods. Without the complete vitamins, especially B vitamins, the body often develops cravings.
Do not skip breakfast and then go for a -coffee break-. This is a sure time to need a cigarette. Instead, eat a hearty breakfast of cereals, fruit and whole-wheat toast. Avoid high fat foods such as bacon and eggs and pastries.
Go to bed early. An adequate rest may naturally help to reduce the need for a cigarette to keep you calm.
Thoroughly air out your house; sleep with the windows open.
Don-t wish that you could have -just one more smoke-. Remember that you have just given up a disgusting habit that could kill you, and gained a freedom that will be with you for life, and improve your health dramatically.
If someone knows that you smoked in the past and offers you a cigarette, tell them that you are an ex-smoker. This reinforces your decision to be a non-smoker.
Ask God to help you. Many people fail at quitting smoking, but God honors those who trust in Him and he will supply all your needs, and help you overcome this habit if you ask Him.you could try using the patches or gum.or even watch the adverts of what smoking can do to you .even find out wat is in fags gud lukyes!if you have a phone then stick there no smokingI want to stop smoking any advice plz how too? -
