Questions on how to stop smoking ? -
Hi
i want to stop smoking.
i know its gonna be really difficult but i really want to.
i saw an advert on t.v that said something about sending free patches and stuff ?
does anyone know a website like that?
i live in scotland btw.
if there isnt a website like that, any helpful answers on how to quit will be really appriecated :DWHY SMOKING IS TOUGH TO QUIT
============== ==============
Smoking is very tough to quit because it doesn-t only test your Will power but it makes your biologically addicted. It is not just a bad habit, but it is something you are bound with and will require either an extreme will power (which if you had, you might have left smoking far ago) or something that can replace that habit.
HOW TO QUIT SMOKING PERMANENTLY ?
================== =================
The only feasible way to quit a bad habit or addiction is to replace it with another addiction (This is what rehabilitation centers do to drug addicts)
You can quit smoking by replacing cigarettes with some non harmful product which is easier to quit later due to its lack of biological addiction.
E-Cigarettes are a good option, Chewing gum is sometimes helpful but not always and is harmful if consumed in large quantity.
This website

Has many reviews of smoking quitters and many harmless products to help you quit smoking with detailed instructions.You will have to break two habits to stop smoking. The psychological dependence including the physical motions of putting the cigarette to your lips and enjoying (?) that act and second the actual physical addiction in your brain. You have to grow new brain cells that don-t smoke. Sounds weird but it is true. People who smoke have developed new brain cells that smoke and you have to out grow these by stopping, the brain will grow anew. This why it is so hard to quit. Good luck and happy brain growing.ok here are some tips first of all get some tooth picks. Look at the prices of cigarets they are very high. chew lots of gum it will help. Look up pictures of peoples livers when they smoke. It grossed me out when i saw it so it helps. If you stop smoking you will live longer and feel better.
I hope this helped :)Questions on how to stop smoking ? -

WHAT WORKED FOR ME
1. pick a time that you always light up and do not smoke at that time (for me it was getting in the car, even if I was going a short distance and knew I wouldn-t finish my cigarette I always lit one in the car)
2. after you no longer have the urge to smoke at that time pick another (I picked the first morning smoke with my coffee)
3. beat that one, pick another and repeat until finished
If you are a drinker the smokes at the bar will be last and hardest to beat
it is not just a physical addiction, there are psychological attachments as well and you need to attack those too- this way does that.
if you slip up keep trying it takes an average of six times trying to actually quit-that includes those whom are able to go cold turkey and those who try 20 times.Try hypnosis. They say it worksTry to get more information regarding some ways to stop smoking at my profile.You could either just quit cold turkey (which is how I quit this last time, so I-ve got nearly 2 weeks now)
Or, you could work your way down to nothing. What I mean by that is:
If you smoke full flavor cigarettes right now, smoke lights until you feel ready to move to ultra lights. And once you get to ultra lights, slowly cut yourself down until you are smoking only one or two a day, and then just quit. That-s what my husband did, and he-s been smoke-free since August 2007.First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!
As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, and it also depends on how much you-ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you-ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.
For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you-ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal...
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it-s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).
All that being said, it-s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last smoke (it-s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don-t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!Whats the best way to stop smoking? -
