Anyone tried Chantix - stop smoking pill? -

Has anyone tried this to stop smoking? And if so, did it work? Any crazy side effects? Any comments, suggestions, or anything that you could give me would be great. I just got a prescription today.I have not had any personal experience with Chantix but with what people say at Yahoo answers I wouldn-t go near the stuff. The side effects I have read so far include: headaches, nausea, stomach pains, mood swings, bad temper, feelings of depression and nearly everyone says they suffer from nightmares. Most people suffer from one or more of these side effects.

I truly believe that to quit smoking you need to deal with your psychological addiction before your physical one. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.

Quitting smoking does not require any patches, gums, herbs or drugs. These methods are expensive, time consuming, potentially harmful and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.

If you still choose to use Chantix than please do a lot of research first.

Good Luck and Good Quitting
Always a good indication - are pilots allowed to take the medication and still fly?

It has been linked to more than 3000 reports of problems including suicides, heart trouble and aggression, according to a new study by the non-profit Institute for Safe Medication Practices that sparked the Federal Aviation Administration review.

They banned it. Would you trust it?I know two people who used it. One person had success with it. She said she didn-t have any cravings or bad side effects.
The other said she had horrible nightmares, stopped taking it, and is smoking again.
Hope it works for you!Yes, my son in law. He didn-t quit and the side effects were HORRIBLE!!! Please try something else, and not Welbutrin, they have the same side effects.

I stopped smoking today after 8 years of smoking. will that hurt my body? -

i been a heavy smoker for 8 years. today i decided to quit, its been a hard day. everytime i wanted to smoke i made a push up exercise and that kinda helped me. but i-m worried about the sudden withdrawal of nicotin from my body. is it bad to suddenly stop smokig? will there be any permanent effect.Hi there and well done..I just stopped one day it was hard but I am so glad I did it. I am sure it does no harm at all. Your health will only improve from today. I am sending this link hope it helps. I used to suck a mint when I wanted to smoke and also I reminded myself that if I smoked now I would only want another in a few minutes....the craving Does get less. The benefits are really worth it. Good luck.

I had to quit smoking due to a facial paralysis. I understand that smokers never healed and got their face back, so this was the ultimate motivation.

So I quit cold turkey. It was kind of hard at first, but it was pretty amazing how fast I started to get over it, when I mentally pictured it like a toxin that ruins my body-s ability to heal itself.

It was like I conditioned myself. My perception of the stuff completely changed. Soon after I know longer needed a smoke during work. Soon after that I could be around other-s smoking, and be able to fight the urge (took a little willpower for that one), then I learned to fight the urge when I would be in a nervous situation (like a club, I get anxious in a dance club), then finally I was able to say no while drinking relaxed at a bar with a friend who had cigarretes.

Change your mental perception of the stuff...its poisonous crap. Once in a while I-ll relapse, and it really makes you feel like it weakens your body. Now I don-t crave one at all...its been 6 months. My energy levels are much higher now as well.

Good luck.
Absolutely not, there will be no permanent damage in fact quite the reverse, it-s all good from here on. You have stopped insulting your body with all those poisons so your body will thank you for it. You may experience a little weight gain if you substitute food for smoking so keep up the exercise also you might be a bit irritable at times but that passes. Well done youwell...depends on your definition of -hurt-...you-ll probably feel some negative side effects of quitting, especially right at the beginning like this, but i have a feeling it will get better, and the positive effects of quitting smoking far outweigh the negatives. stay strong!Sorry to deflate your balloon, but day one is nothing. Enjoy your cigarettes tomorrow. I believe even if you quit, you will still feel like a cig 5 years later.
