comes to our rooms our home always smells like cigarette. I don-t know what to do because he has lived downstairs for years and he is disabled and he wont stop smoking. I can-t get out of the lease and my baby is going to have to live around all the smell.. I have tried everything from sprays, candles, baking soda and lots more... what can I do?you will have to buy an air purifier until you can move out- get one with a hepa filter, they work really well. there are also electric ones that have an ionic filter- they are good, too. i lived in an apartment where a lot of people smoked, and it stunk like a bar in the hallways. i ended up moving out,.Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do about making your neighbor stop - but I would definitely invest in an air purifier. Though a little pricey for a good one - definitely better than sacrificing your childs health.
And once your lease is up... you need to move.You will definetly need an air purifier, but that will only purify the air it won’t eliminate the nasty order. For that you will need a good scent candle. my mom and step-dad smoke allot. (cigarettes) i tell them all the facts and how it hurts me, and my stepdad goes -when you stop biting your nails, ill stop smoking!- and storms away. then i go back with -Biting my nails won-t put tar in my lungs!- then it turns into an argument. my mom just goes -i know hunny. I-m trying- but she-s not! what can i do to make them stop?!As an ex-smoker I-m sorry to tell you that there is nothing you can do. The person really needs to want to stop themselves and be motivated to do something about it. I used to see all those horrible ads and my husband would look at me, but I didn-t care, I enjoyed smoking and that was it.
I would stop asking them if it just leads to fights, you can-t live their lives no matter how much it upsets you that they smoke.It-s an addiction already.. theres nothing really YOU can do about it... try something else.. maybe like a doctor or someone in the medical fields can help.How can i get my mom and stepdad to stop smoking? -
