Is it normal to cough up some blood after stopping smoking? -

Stopped about 8 weeks ago. Some blood in my phlegm.
Thanks. You don-t have to run to the emergency room on an ambulance. However, I would, if I were you, go to the doctor as soon as you can.

Again it could, hope its not, be Cancer. It could be something else. If your lucky it might not be anything bad. Coughing blood at any time is always a warning sign to see the doctor.

I hope it turns out to be good news.Nothing normal about it, get to the doc now. If he ain-t open phone NHS 24 if you-re in the UK.no. you need to go to a doctor immediately.you need to go to the doctor asapMaybe you should-ve never started smoking in the first place.

im helping a friend stop smoking. whats good way of encouragement tp help him? i was thinking buy something small for every few days he doesnt. any other ideas?Hello,
I quit smoking 4 and a half months ago, and it-s the best thing I-ve ever done! Good for your friend. The best advice I can give is to keep him occupied, I found doing crossword puzzles and word searches helped me out tremendously! He needs to keep his mind busy so he doesn-t have time to think about when he-s going to smoke his next cigarette.
The first week is the hardest. If he can get past that, it will get much easier for him.
Good luck to you both!buy him some of the patches yourself that way hell know its important to you. and he wont have to spend his own cash right away which would make it more unlikley he would buy them sooo by you perchasiing them it allows him to have them right away without having to go out and buy them because people put that off, if he has them there isnt any excuse not to use them if hes serious about quitting!!!!I quit it since 4-15-08 cold turkey after 32+ years of smoking. Make the will and commit 100% to it, it-s very hard to stop it I know. But he can do it. He may or may not success this time but keep trying, he will get there if he WANTS to quit it.

Good luck!If he is interested in quitting tell him to talk to his doctor about Chantix its a amazing drug for quitting smoking. If he isn-t wanting to quit then you should back off. People have the right to do what they want even if its bad for their health.if you give up something to then you could help motivate him because you know what he will be going through... just probably not as bad a quiting smoking:D

for natural medicineNicotine patches: Nicotine patches, or transdermal nicotine, can be an effective way to quit smoking. The quit rate for patch users is around 20% after six months. Nicotine patches are available over the counter, but it is best to consult a doctor before using them, particularly people with any medical problems.

Nicotine gum: Nicotine gum (Nicorette), available over the counter, has also been effective for a number of people. Some prefer it to the patch because they can control the nicotine dosage and chewing satisfies the oral urge. Long-term dependence may be a problem with this method.

Nicotine inhaler: The nicotine inhaler resembles a plastic cigarette holder. It comes with a number of nicotine cartridges which are inserted into the inhaler. It has some specific advantages over other slower nicotine replacement products:

Nicotine nasal spray: The nasal spray satisfies immediate cravings by providing doses of nicotine rapidly, and thus may play a useful role in conjunction with slower acting nicotine replacement therapies.

Nicotine tablet: A nicotine tablet that is held under the tongue is also very useful.THCI cured myself and I bet you can cure yourself too from this bad habit with this natural product I found out:

Well I don-t know exactly what you mean by -natural-. Tobacco itself is natural as is uranium, that doesn-t automatically make it good for you.

I-ve heard that mint can help but I have no idea how that really works.Try acupuncture. I-ve heard that it works very well for anyone trying to quit any type of addiction............smoking, drinking, food addictions. It seems to be quite effective. I-ve had acupuncture for pain alleviation and worked like a miracle.
