Why cant i stop smoking crack? -
Why cant i stop smoking crack? -
ive used alot of drugs no meth no herion no X. but i cant stop smoking crack, been on and off for about 5 years now,and its sickning. been in programs and WANT to quit, but keep useing,WHY?hummmmm? awnser that !!!because you are addicted but if you still have a computer you aren-t doing all that bad....usually people on crack try to pawn anything and everything.
Most programs aren-t geared towards crack addicts because crack doesn-t have the same physical dependance as heroin or meth or coke....you just have to avoid those you buy it from...stay away from those who do it and those that have it to sell. I-ve know many of people that went down the same path you took and they are all fine now...just stopped hanging out with those who did it!
Good LuckYea right give me a break. If you were a crack smoker you would not be posting on Yahoo. you would be smoking crack.for starters you are addicted. when addicted to anything your life means nothing and the only thing you truely care about is when , how, where am i gonna get my next fix. your ability to have control is gone(atleast you think). what you need is to make a list of the good things in your life and list of bad things . compare the two then as an adult make a decision as to whats important whats need and what isnt. loose the so called friends that temp you or give/sell it to you. get back into a program and dont drop out of it just because YOU think your ok. become a leader not a follower. learn to get high off life, YOU DONT NEED DRUGS to be happy or to get you through a hard time. DRUGS ARE A CRUTH !!!
are your legs broke? no? then throw them away. love yourself and love life.
and if ya cant do it by your own will power which eveidently is lacking(you shoud build yourself esteem up) or by a program trained in helping those that want and should quit. turn to your family and true friends for help and support. OR....
CALL DR.PHIL, HE WILL MOST DEFENITLY HELP YOU AND HE WONT GIVE UP ON YOU and he wont let you give up on yourself. Im sure your a great guy so learn to love yourself and respect the only body that god gave you.Because you are addicted and you are too weak-willed to quit. If you really, really wanted to, you could, but psychologically you don-t. You appear to be looking for someone to absolve you here?I think that if you really want to do something in life you can. Addiction is all in your head, try to see if there is a problem at the core rather than the addiction itself.....I am employed at a Mental and Substance abuse hospital. I come across many cases like yourself. This has nothing to do with willpower. When you abuse drugs, there are many factors. Including but not limited to physical, sexual, and verbal abuse during your lifetime. Most cases turn to drugs to ease their pain. Emotional pain is difficult to deal with in a positive way. We tend to deal with our difficulties in a negative way.
If you want help you should look for help. Maybe at first the programs will not work. Because you need to find one that meets your needs.
Which state do you live in. I can provide some suggestions.Probably you dont want to stop!Because it-s addictive - you-re an addict?!?!?!crack is very likable you have one soon as you have had that you want another its very addictive i tried and i just wanted more and more but then i thought **** that ill be a mess so i stopped hanging around peolpe who do it and that worked for me im not been horrible but you should go on jeremy kyle he would get you of.good luck in life i hopeyou go the right waya few years ago my husband was faced with the same problem until he had to choose between crack our marrige 3 children and our grandchildren not to mention his job well he stopped hanging out with his so called friends and decided crack isn-t all it-s cracked up to be.we have since moved to fl added 3 more grandchildren to our family and he thanks god everyday he made the right choice.until you are willing to change everything about your life style nothing will work.good luckCos you-re a jerk?If ya wanna tell people ya smoke crack edit your profile!
If ya wanna stop smoking crack stop.
why do you keep smoking crack? - because it defines who you are.
What a tragic waste of genius
Buff.hmmmmmm, lack of willpower? stupidity? if u wanted ta bad enough u wud be tryin ta and not sittin down writin ta yahoo about it!because crack is the best if i were you i would stop trying to quit !!!go for 10 years you got my support!!!Why cant i stop smoking crack? -
Stopped smoking and dont wanna put on weight.? -
Stopped smoking and dont wanna put on weight.? -
My days are really full. I am up at 5am, get ready for work, get my daughter ready for school, i serve breakfast (usually cereal) tidy up the house then I am off to work at 7am. I am at the office till 5:30 and then get home by 6:30. Which means I have less than 2 hours to serve dinner and get my 5yr old ready for bed at 8. Is there an exercise program that doesnt require too much time? I just stopped smoking and I am scared of picking up weight. With a tight schedule like yours you are going to find little time for an exercise session. I choose to walk to work as this in itself is excersise. You can control your weight by watching what you eat. For eg Bake , grill or steam all your food dont make acceptions unless its unavoidable in wich case you can fry in a little olive oil, cut out white bread, pastas ( twice a month), Potatoes ( twice a month), and rice. Eat plenty of salads, veggies ( steamed to retain goodness this can be done in a microwave by placing the veggies whole or cut in half in a tiny bit of water in a glass bowl and covering the bowl with plastic wrap and cooked on high for between 3 min and 5 min depending on the veg) and fruit ( have this on hand at all times for an alternative to snacks) and stay far away from takeaways even if it is tempting to buy a ready made meal instead of cooking. I have a similar routine and also need to watch my weight. This eating plan along with the walk to work keeps both my son and myself healthy and trim without having to go on diets or cut down on food.I-ve been researching workouts, and I-ve found the T-Tapp method. You concentrate on using good form, and 15 minutes is all you need. I just bought the book today, so I haven-t done it over an extended period of time. I did try out all her moves available on her website, though, and they feel quite effective.

i have many overweight friends who smoke so dont kid yourself. Sounds like you have a busy day i-d suggest waking up an hour earlier if possible or stayin up an hour later, fit in a jogging/walking routine.It-s a myth that stopping smoking makes you gain weight. A myth perpetrated by the tobacco companies to keep you hooked.yer not gunna get fat from quitting;; the smokingg companies just tell yu that to keep yu on it.get 3 m baby-s and i promeas that you will not get fatI think there is some truth to gaining weight after one quits smoking. I-m one of those people who has to have something to do with her hands, even though I was never allowed to smoke indoors. When I read, I take my thumb or finger and flip the corners of books, I chew pens, etc. When one stops smoking, especially if s/he is an indoor smoker I suppose that needing something else to do, like eat, fills the -need- for the hand to mouth action.
How do you have time to breathe? I actually lost weight when I quit smoking. I quit because I realized what I was and wasn-t doing to and with my body by not only smoking, but the way I was eating and living. Soon after I quit smoking, I became vegetarian. By the end of that summer (I quit smoking the first week in January of 2005), I became vegan. For me, it did help that I had to go outside to smoke so the temptation to just idly light one while watching TV or playing on the computer was not there. (I would smoke and read because I would take my book or magazine outside with me.) However, I did chew more pens.
I really don-t remember what I did. However, if you -need- something, try all-natural organic suckers (I found some at Babies -R- Us, but try Trader Joe-s, Whole Foods, or the local natural foods store), fruits, veggies, etc. for the hand to mouth thing. Sure, I had my setbacks. The first time I really drank after, I was hunting for an old one. That summer we went to New York City with my husband-s younger sister and traveling with her was quite the trial. (The only thing that kept me from buying a pack in NYC was the price.) Actually, that whole month was bad for me and I was thisclose to buying a pack several times. I-m not sure what stopped me, except the thought that I actually succeeded at something and didn-t want to fail. Also, since I was taking better care of myself, I didn-t want to ruin it.
Anyway, I-ve lost my train of thought, as I just noticed the time. I hope I-ve been of some help.Stopped smoking and dont wanna put on weight.? -

im 33 and desperatly want to stop smoking...Ive tried the patches they made me ill ive tried the gum and -
gave me ulcers really bad in my mouth.. i can smoker upto 60 cigs a day when i-m stressed i-m overweight too and that-s not helping i-m on a low income so not only do i want to quit for my health but also for financial reasons.. can anyone recommend tried tested and proved methods of stopping please ?if you have the time... just quit.... cold turkey... get away from everyone for FOUR DAYS....
your blood replaces it self every four days nicotine is in the blood stream.... wait four days... then the nicotine is out of the system... then the rest of it is force of habit.try hypnotherapy, it could also help with your weight loss. go to your gp there might be a local service available to you as you are low income? worth askingMy uncle went to hypnosis clinic and was able to stop cold turkey for about six weeks. The craving started returning so he went again and that was it for him.
He was still visiting people who smoked and that triggered the craving. After the second visit he no longer even liked the smell of cigarettes.i am a smoker myself and am also married to a wonderful man who was addicted to chewing tobacco up until about a month ago. He is also about 40 lbs overweight. i never rode him about the tobacco use and never really rode him about the weight until he developed a severe case of gall-bladder trouble. let-s just cut to the chase. NO-ONE can overcome any kind of addiction, until they want to do it for themselves! what i found worked best for my husband as far as his weight was concerned; was, i cut out all carborhydrates (no white food whatsoever) i.e. bread, corn, flour, butter, fat, chocolate,. I think you know you know what i am referring to. it was hard for the first couple of weeks, but after that he started to see a change in his weight and stuck with it. the thing that helped him was he ate 5 times a day. not 5 full meals, but a good breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner (before 6 or 7 at night) and then a snack before bed. as far as his addiction to the chew; he totally came up with how to quit all on his own. my point is, he decided all own his own and didn-t even let me know what he was doing until he felt confident with what he was dong and was proud of himself for doing so. BOTTOM LINE IS: HE WANTED TO DO IT HIMSELF FOR HIM SELF and that made alot of difference and has got me thinking very seriously about quiting smoking myself. i have tride to quit before and have always gone back for whatever reason. so if you should try to try to quit smoking on your own and find yourself falling short; just e-mail me and i will not judge you and will try to get you through it as best i can. you say you are only 33 yr. old. ; i am 47 and wish i had started this a long time ago.
hope i haven-t discouraged you!!I was a smoker for 25 years. I quit using the Allen Carr book and cold turkey. The first week was hell. I suffered intense insomnia and I almost caved, however after the first week I have to say it was easy and now 5 months later I can honestly say I don-t even miss it. Good luck, but please do read this book. It gives quitting smoking a whole new perspective.60 cigars a day??!!! You need professional help man..really! call the quit smoking hotlines or something...=)) i hope you will find the strength and courage to do that! Good Luck!the key to stop a habbit or addiction is to keep yourself busy with something that is not harmful in any way.
so, fill your day with lots of physical and social activities. e.g. going out with friends, excercise etc. to begin with, fill your day to be as busy as possible. remain mentally strong..... when you make improvements decide to make your day a little easier as you get along.
stress can cause you to start smoking again. instead, why not try something else. e.g. massage, swimming or even chocolate.
there are many things.
just keep mentally tough in what your doing. good luck.
and feel free to contact me with any more questions.

lydiaknows@yahoo.co.ukTry the book by Allen Carr -The Easy Way to Stop Smoking-. It is in book form and CD. I recommend the book. I know several people who quit this way. He has had a high -cure- rate in Europe, I think the book has been in US like a year or so. Ashton Kusher quit this way and said it was easy and great.
Good LuckPlease read ALL of my answer ... with an open mind
Do you REALLY want to stop?
or are you looking for excuses?
My father always said
- A boy starts smoking to prove he is a man.
A man gives up smoking to prove he is a man.-
Read that slowly and think about it.
You have more than one problem to deal with.
You need to decide what you are going to do.
Will you prat about and blame everything and everyone else?
OR
Wlii you grasp life and yourself and
chose one thing to get started on
AND DO IT.
Set yourself small targets to help you towards your goal.
Do what they did when you were in your first years at school.
Sounds daft but it works......
Make a chart....... eg --go xx mins without smoking.--
When you can do that, increase the time ....
or if you decide to lose weight first then
1 weigh yourself, or get a friend (a true one)
2 get that friend to measure you in bust/chest, waist, hips, upper arm, lower arm, ditto legs.
the more measurements the better.
3 decide how you are going to loose the weight,
less fat? fewer calories?
don-t forget to factor in exercise
remember those small targets?
plot your weight in 1/2 pounds
every 4 weeks get that friend to re-measure you.... and see those inches disappear.
Best of luckClaire - a really good place for you to start is with Allan Carr-s Easy Way to Stop Smoking. This is not some wishy-washy self-help book - but a really sensible and down to earth look at the reasons we smoke and the fibs we tell ourselves to justify continuing. I promise you that he will change the way you regard your smoking.
For some people, that-s enough to make them stop altogether, but not everyone. If it isn-t quite enough for you, then I would recommend seeing your GP and ask to be referred to a local Quit group. This is free and run by the NHS, and you-ll get to join a group of other people in the same boat. You won-t feel quite so alone and will have people to chat too when it all gets a bit rough.
Good luck hun (you can do it, but you need to approach it in the right way). The only way is just to stop. Patches, gum, hypnosis etc can bring about temporary reduction, but these are about making money for the producers of the goods and services.
Lots of very strong mints and strong tea, and tell yourself that the sensation of -gasping for a cigarette- is actually the sensation that reminds you your lungs getting cleaner. Have a pot and put the money you would have spent on cigarettes. Look at it and count it every day. This will re-enforce your will to quit.
Like you I smoked 60 a day. I stopped in 1996.i asked this question a couple of weeks ago. I was told to get rid of all evidence of the cigs, put how much i would normally spend on them in a jar every day, and then...
put the contents of your ashtray in a jam jar (empty one of course), fill it with boiling water, shake it. and leave if to cool down.
and every time i wanted one to sniff it. i keeps to that now... and it is working a treat!
every time i want one, i smell it and it makes me sick! it works!Read -Quitters, Inc-by Stephen Kingstry going to your doctors they have no smoking clinics now and offer lots of things (patches ,inhalers, tablets ziban, sprays etc)
good luckYou, me both, I guess like drinking which I don`t anymore, when the time is right I will stop but,my willpower at the moment is zero.I have however changed my brand of cigarette - smoke a milder brand maybe that would help you to? but that has taken a year, Menthol next stop!! If you do find the answer be sure to let me know please.my dear, if you want you can,
all things in our life need our decision
so when we want, we can, even, change the monutainsI smoked 50 cigs a day when I quit back in 1986. I quit cold turkey, it is the only way to do it. You could also ask your doctor for Zyban (welbutrin). That is supposed to help too. Or you can wait until they give you some horrible debilitating disease or kill you. Stop looking for excuses. You can do it. Think of them as a very expensive poison that is slowly killing you.Try laser therapy..... bro has tried several methods and said this was the best as it de-stressed him also..... it is also used for weight problems. (Although he was backsmoking within 2 years). He is currently successfully doing the pheonix programme but still maintains the laser was better for him.
My turn next month!!!!!I gave up after 20 years smoking at least 20 day... Youre not gonna like it but I gave up by simply not buying any more, and not going to the shops or the counter in ASDA that sells them. I had a few false starts but the hight blood pressure, heart problems, and the lump in my throat that I-m having MRI, CT and biopsy on this month are all reminders now that I do not smoke.
My aunt... in similar circumstances used accupuncture, and claimed that worked, but it only worked for about ten years.
I can-t see why being overweight is -not helping- over weight is a state of mind kiddo... just ignore that untill you stop smoking, there-s no point worrying about much else till you do stop. You-ll probably feel a lot better about yourself and your body once you have quit smoking, as you will know... If you beat smoking, you can do anything you want ! You might realise that you only feel unnatractive because youre poisoning yourseld every day with niccoteen, which will depress you. You stop, you realise theres zillions of us bloke out here do genuinley prefer big girls to bonebags.
When people offer you a ciggarette, tell them you dont smoke, you are a non smoker etc..., and they won-t go on with that -Go on... just one, you know you want it- crap that that you get if you say -I gave up-.... Why do they do that ? becasue thay cant stand that you have more willpower than them and they want to feel better about thier inability to give up.
Move away from (ie avoid doing) anything you do that you asociate with smoking... Not for ever, just till you are fully quit. I stopped going to the pub for seven months, because I liked to drink.... and smoke... If I dont drink, I dont want to smoke. I stopped working on car-s.... because I always had on in my mouth while poking around under cars, no car work, no smoking.
I totally banned everyone from smoking in my flat, even my ex when she drops the my daughter off, even my best friends.... In the mid winter I let them smoke in the kitchen with the extractor on and the window open, forcing them to make the tea !!!
Hope there-s a few pointer there... good luck, be strong !!!!
Also 60 a day is about £15..... a day ! thats enough to pay for a membership at a health club or gym.... or as it-s £5475 it-s also enough to buy a small car, a fantastic holiday, a trip to almost anywhere in the world.... a new kitchen.... buy a BMW for a total stranger on Yahoo answers ? LOL
Be strong and do your best.I really feel for you, I was one of the lucky ones I guess, I went onto patches after smoking for 44 years and found I did not need the patches after week 6, I am on week 8 now and still not smoking, and feel great. And NO I was not a light smoker, I used to roll my own cigs and went through 2ozs of tobaco a week. There are lots of ways to quit but everybody is different. It-s going to take will power to do it and the support of friends and family. Talk to your friends and family and ask for their help, support and understanding. Talk to the NHS quitline (it-s free help, support and advice!) and also talk to your doctor.
Good luck!Yes i am an ex smoker of 13 years .When the Doctor told me i had Copd i never had a choice so i quit cold turkey. I only have a 32% lung capacity. Give them up . I am sitting here right now typing hooked up to oxygen.Gradually cut down. One after each meal. Reward yourself for cutting down. Realise what your triggers are. Stress? Boredom? Environment? Boyfriend troubles? Elimate the psychic need and your physical craving will dissipate......Your problem, I believe, is that you-ve convinced yourself it-s difficult to quit. In fact it isn-t. You don-t need the gimmicky stuff at all in fact. You buy the smokes. You light em up. You suck on em. It-s you bud. Just you. Now who-s the boss here? You or Phil Morris? Throw what-s left out and stop. Wash the drapes. They stink. In fact clean the whole place; it all stinks. Get rid of the ashtrays. You don-t need them. Take charge. And know this, One day, in about 4 months, you won-t get the urge to light up again. You will be a non smoker. You can sneer at those monkeys lined up outside puffing away. Have clean breath again. Save big dollars. And it-ll give you a reason not to be stressed. Have a nice life.Try Hypnotism I-m thinking about it also !!!I quit 2 years ago after smoking more than 20 a day for 17 years, I read somewhere that because I started through peer group pressure that was going to be the best way to stop. I announced that I was stopping a week before I did so, I got used to the idea I was stopping then when I finished that packet, that was it I had stopped! I got comments like -you will never stop- -you cant do it- I did it purely on will power, those comments made me want to stop even more to prove those people wrong! No matter how bad you think things are, they arent going to get any better by having a fag! Best of luck - if you wish to contact me for further suppoert feel free to....... you can do it........!I smoked for 25 years and tried everything, patches, cold turkey, acupuncture, the lot.
In the end i saw a hypnotist. He put me in a trance which was the weirdest thing ever and i haven-t touched a ciggy since.
That was 2 years ago and I-m so glad i gave it up.
Theres loads of ways to stop. Just find out which is the best for you.
Good luck.learn to meditate. that will staisfy the inner craving. and be strong.i dont know what to tell you im in the same boat but i guess try to put a time limit down i smoke way to much but if im running low on smokes il tell my self one an hour but that not so easy just try to look at the clock and pace yourself good luckrecently my town has posted a no smoking band so i have been quiting and using this product called smoke away and i quit in 5 days and i was up to 2 packs a day u can get them hereOK - you probably won-t get to reading this far down the list but here goes.
NICOTENE IS NOT ADDICTIVE - believe me you think it is because the cigarette companies and the medics and drugs companies and the firms that make patches and -cures- want you to believe it is!
I KNOW ABOUT THIS I SMOKED AND GAVE IT UP
THIS IS THE HABIT YOU HAVE TO KICK - AND YOU CAN
1 You pick up a cigarette and light up when you do something of habit - [answer the telephone, make a coffee]
2. You put the cigarette into your mouth [something between your lips like a suckling baby - comforting]
3. You light it and then you take a long slow intake of breath - [reallly relaxing - that-s what they train pregnant women to do in relaxation classes] and then you take more long slow deep breaths [so relaxing]
4. Then you hold the cigarette between your fingers [something to cling to - like mummy]
You just keep repeating this relaxing routine until the cigarette is no more!
OK - YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE ALL THAT!
1. Buy yourself an A4 students sketch pad and a giant packet of kids felt tips
2. Now scribble all over a page with a black pen fibre tip pen
Next time you have a signal to light up
Shove a felt tip between you lips - that-ll do for the suckling bit
Start filling in the shapes with your favourite colours
Take some long slow deep breaths in and slowly let them out
Now make yourself a nice relaxing drink of camomile and vanilla tea and keep on filling in the shapes with your favourite colours!
I guarantee that if you replace the cigy routine with this one you will kick smoking.
I did overnight when I mistakenly thought the doctor said I had the symptoms of Angina! I just said I-m never having another cigarette and I haven-t and that was on 6th October 1997!
Good Luckim 33 and desperatly want to stop smoking...Ive tried the patches they made me ill ive tried the gum and -
