Whats the best way to persuade someone who doesnt want to stop smoking to stop? -
they are bright, they know all the effects etc, but they just don-t want to quit.As everyone else has told you a smoker will only quit when they are good and ready to quit and not until.I am currently smoke free for six months after having smoked for thirty yrs.
Now having said that I can tell you it is NOT an easy journey to make. Nicotine is an extremely addictive drug, and not only do you have the drug addiction you also have the hand to mouth addiction.
Soooooooooooo not one thing you say or do is going to make someone quit ciggies.
That is a choice they have to make all on their own.
In fact I know someone who is dying from colon cancer, her liver is full of cancer nodes now and she has a colostomy bag.....and she-s still puffin away.........
Tell you friend you love them, and wish they would quit smoking for THEIR healths sake, then drop the topic.
It-s all you can do, no matter how intelligent a person is addiction is a strong hold over everything.

The more you rag him about it the worse it gets. He is addicted. If you haven-t been there, you can-t understand.there is no way. the smoker has to decide all on their own
