How can i stop smoking when i have an obsession about it? -

How can i stop smoking when i have an obsession about it? -

i always smoke because i think it will make me lose weight! (i know it doesn-t and the myths about it raising metabolism may not be true and even if they were it did would be such a small amount it would do nothing)

but i still smoke before i eat, after i eat, i panic if i don-t becuase i think i wont lose any weight that day.

if i binge i chain smoke, and for some reason somewhere in my head i really believe this!

i do have eating problems, so can you help? what do i do? i can-t stand the smell of smoke

can no one give mean awnsers, i know this is weird, but if you want to laugh at me could you not awnser??holy **** i totally went through this! but do you know what happened? it didn-t stop with smoking! i also drank, smoked weed, did coke, did meth, and did all kinds of dangerous things to lose weight. and then i forgot how really great of a person i was for a while and it was really bad until i flipped. no, i didn-t flip out! i flipped my thinking- from focusing on how my body looked to my health. i just took a nutrition class that really helped me figure out my eating last semester and i do yoga. it works for me, but i had to work on some other issues before i really felt good about myself. sounds like you may have an eating disorder. this is a psychological condition that involves food rather than a physical one that results in anxiety. professional help would really be a benefit.
you are right, your basal metabolic rate, or BMR (metabolism) goes up when you smoke, which means that your resting metablism is faster. That pretty much means that your heart is beating out of control for no reason and that is BAD. smoking also makes you smell disgusting and ruins your teeth and insides. like your lungs are totally gross right now but if you quit they will get better. smoking also messes with your sleeping patterns which may lead to unusual eating patterns.
go to mypyramid dot gov and learn about what your body needs. you will find that you can eat a lot more than you thought and still lose weight. try to eat oatmeal, a bananna, cinnamon, peanut butter and soy milk for breakfast with orange juice to avoid eating too many calories through the day. exercise 20-30 min per day and if you skip a day just start up again the next. im sure that you are a really beautiful girl but i have a lot of guy friends, and even the ones that smoke say girls that smoke are not that hot. be healthy hot, not carcenogenic hot.uh, smoking does make your metabolism high because nicotine is a stimulant like coffee is...

being fat is healthier than smoking thin. if you want to smoke, expect to have lung cancer or something just as fun in the future, because that is what your working for.If you want to lose weight, then you are obviously concerned about your health and fitness, so why keep on damaging your body with smoking? Try using nicotine patches and gradually wean yourself off them, Eat good healthy food, with plenty of fruit and vegetables in your diet, stay off red meat and processed foods.i d k, cuz everytime i try 2 stop smoking i gain weight all over again cuz i crave sweets, esp. ice cream - chocolate when i stop smoking. all my tricks 2 stop smoking fail cuz of the huge appetite surge. chewing lots of gum didnt last long cuz my stomach would rumble - i would dream of all kinds of cakes, puddings, etc.just stop

i used to be addicted to alcohol
i was almost always wasted

but my friends started treating me differently
i didnt really like it

so i just stopped

with drawl is hell but you need to have some will powerSmoking or any other addiction, developing a strong faith in Jesus works.Try meditating - reading the Bible, spend time in prayer - you will see the changes coming in.I tried it.It sure works!it sounds like you have 2 addictions, smoking and eating. you need to take care of one addiction at a time. pick if you want to lose weight or stop smoking and then focus on the one thing. when you have that one thing under control then you can think about adding on the other addiction. for both of them you will probably need professional help and medicine to help control the urges. worrying about both things is only sabotaging the entire thing and making you feel worse.

hang in there, there are so many people in your same situation. your not alone and I know you can do it.I gave up smoking two months ago and can tell you from my experience that when you try to quit cigarettes seem like they are the solutions to every problem. I have problems with my stomach and spent two weeks telling myself that cigarettes wouldn-t really make my stomach any better and would probably make it worse. You just have to realise that if you do put on weight while quitting it will be easier to lose it later. If you stop then you will have better breathing and circulation meaning that you can go down the gym and exercise the weight off. If you keep smoking you will eventually end up sitting on your sofa doing nothing and gaining huge amounts due to being unhealthy. It is hard to block the temptation to begin with but once you feel how much healthier you are not smoking I doubt you will want to start again. I at least no longer cough up phlegm in the morning and have recovered my sense of smell and taste and it has only been two months.
