What is the best way to stop smoking? -

What is the best way to stop smoking? -

am so sick of spending all my money on fags and standing out in the cold just to feed this stupid addiction, not even mentioning what i-m doing to my body.

any tips? from personal experience or other.

thanks in advanceI just quit using wellbutrin which is really zyban with a different name. I have tried everything else and to my suprise this really worked. After about 10 days of being on the medicine I noticed that cigarettes didnt give me the pleasure it used to and the taste was gross, I couldnt even inhale it. So i finished my last pack didnt buy any more and havent for 2 weeks. I-ve had no withdrawal symtoms at all. Seriously. My regular doctor prescribed it.Look up some facts on smoking, like how many it kills a year, what it does to your body, what illnesses it causes, etc. Print it out and post it somewhere (like even on your pack) and like a bathroom mirror that you will see every day to remind you what you are putting in your body.

Keep your fingers busy.

Saying no, to even yourself, is the most powerful!

Maybe try some type of gum or patch? I-ve heard they work awesome.

Start a fitness routine, especially running. Since it-s harder to run while smoking, every time you workout/go to the gym it will remind you how much easier (and better!) it is for you if you quiti used the patches and the inhaleator, i gave up on 1st jan this year it was hard for the first coupld of days then weeks but well woth it, if you realy want to kick the habit you will succeed in giving up if not you wont because you have to realy want it! i did it for my kids because i knew it wasd hurting them knowing what the cigareyyes where doing to me i felt i owed it to them to value my health and so they didnt smoke when they got older too!
its a good feeling being a non smoker :)
good luck xxxI know I-m probably the exception to the rule, but I wanted to quit and I did. Finished off my last pack over a fortnight and haven-t touched one since. That was 8 months ago. Will power, you can get self help books/hypnotherapy/counselling, but even after these treatments, at the end of the day, it-s all down to you, and you alone. Will power. Whatever crutches you use, it ends up being will power, a sheer determination to quit. Take a look at a lung that been subjected to inhalation. It will make you jump off the wagon. That-s one of the grossest things you-ll ever see.A smoking cessation program emphasizes support, behavior modification, and pharmacological interventions. You seem to have the right reasons to stop so give it your Best and stop now , From a reformed smokerNicorette patches and the fake nicotine inhalercold turkey.

and use a therapy group. its best when you-re not alonetherapy, to figure out why you smoke in the first place
