Now, why? (Smoking)...? -

Think about it, there are many commercials on pills and crap to stop smoking, if everyone is so crazy about wanting everyone to stop, why don-t they just stop selling them all together? people will get over it.They say drinking and driving are bad too. Why don-t they stop selling alcohol and cars?Because prohibition does not work. Prohibition has not worked for alcohol. (see US Constitutional Amendments 18 and 21) Al Capone became a millionaire bootlegging alcohol. And, alcohol related deaths increased dramatically when Prohibition took effect. Good discussion at:

Prohibition doesn-t work for another plant, Marijuana, nor for opium, a poppy. Prohibiting anything makes it just that much more attractive for many.

Besides, tobacco companies pay huge taxes to the government, and tobacco taxes fund a lot of programs. The interests that have a stake in tobacco production and use would not allow prohibition. Besides, if one can grow Marijuana in a forest area, so could one grow tobacco. And a whole new -war on drugs- would be waged, and a lot of money probably made (untaxed, most likely) by criminals.

Bottom line: Banning tobacco is ideally a good thought, but would most likely not work in the real, practical world

Just my thoughts.i know 2 reasons....1) cigarettes will go on to the black market and then many people who had no intentions to get involved will get involved because its meant to be cool (like drugs...) and also 2)people have the freedom to choose...that also means the freedom to choose to smoke...because its all about greed.. people want money and thats all they care about even if it means endangering millions of peoples lives!rufr? the people who sell cigarettes make a lot of money and would never contemplate not selling them.
