You don-t say how much you smoke. If it-s only a few a day, I-d say don-t worry abotu it. If it-s a pack, I-d say you-re at the stage where your risks are going to start going up. If you-re a heavy smoker, two or three packs a day, I-d say stop or it-s probably going to kill you.
Also, being that your only 27 and not yet at heart attack age, I-d suggest other forms of nicotine -- Commit lozenges, the Chinese mini e cigarette. After a period of adaptation to different nicotine levels they-ll give you much the same satisfaction you get from smoking without the cancer risk. I used the Commit lozenges for several years after I stopped smoking with good results, then stopped using them because at 54 I have to be concerned about heart attacks. How much do you want to live? I have never smoked. I saw a science programme when I was about 12, when a lung was brought on in a bucket which had belonged to a non-smoker who died in a car accident (pink in colour) then another bucket containing that of a smoker who had died. The second lung, of the smoker, was picked up - it was completely black, with tar oozing off it.
There will be always someone who says that they know someone aged 110 who smokes 40 a day - is as fit as a fiddle, but I-m sure any hospital will tell you that-s the exception rather than the rule.
I read once of a man whose parachute failed to open after he jumped. They found his arms - legs in different fields, sewed him back together and he survived. However, just because he got lucky doesn-t mean it-s a good idea to jump out of an aeroplane without a parachute!
It-s rather like that with smoking. Smoking KILLS. Why take the risk? You are 27 and would like to stop because of the health risks, you don`t want to end up with lung cancer and die young and also if you stopped smoking it would save you a lot of money that you could use for better things.
These are your reasons all you require is will power.
Make up your mind that you mind will control your body from now on and not nicotine or hash.
If you can give uo for 3 - 4 months you can gice up permanently.
Good Luck.well those are really good reasons to stop smoking. i am trying to quit myself and it seems impossible. i don-t know how some smokers can just quit and be done with it..me on the other hand...I love that smoke after eating and while drinking or that morning smoke in the car with my coffee. its so gross though lol
my mom enjoys smoking too. she has smoked almost most of her life and doesn-t plan on quitting. her saying is -im gonna die some day anyway so i may as well enjoy what i enjoy most-
so idk. i hate the way is smells and hate the way it makes my breath stink. otherwise..the craving seems to win each time.
you know i read somewhere that if you quit and start back up...it actually makes it twice as worse on your body??? i thought that was interesting.
I am going to be 27 next month. i am trying so hard but apparently not hard enough :( i go to the gym..started eating better..now if i can quit the nic..Its swings and roundabouts.
Don-t give up if you feel that carrying on will make your life better. I agree its difficult to get hash into your system without smoking (though have a look at cooking with it!), so why not wait till you get bored with dope then give giving up a go,
The heath risks are possibly overstated by the government. They do have bit of a micromanaging/nanny state agenda, so why do what They want you to?you should stop smoking because of all the health risks however if you enjoy it you are guna end up going back to it you have to really want to quit and i wouldn-t just go stop altogether because you will find it to hard so you need to just reduce the amount of nicotine and any other substances you are smoking each day so its not such a huge diff and its much easier to do there are lots of diff products that you can buy now to help you stop.I am only a bit older than you and I agree with you, but I say that quitting is the best option. I have been working on it recently for my health. A doctor refused to give me surgery until I quit. Smoking can drastically increase your healing time and make it much more difficult to recover from health problems. If YOU want to stop smoking then go ahead and do it, just remember you cannot stop just like that, its going to take time, im a smoker too.Well it-s completely up to you. It depends whether you feel your addiction(s) are more beneficial than your health.Stop.just stop. think of ur health, others and ur money
