Best product to quit smoking? -
I am looking for a good product to help me stop smoking ..I can-t chew the gum it makes me feel very sick ...But smoking isn-t making me feel good either ..Help me!!!If you are quitting for yourself (quitting for someone else will not get you to quit for good - only quitting for yourself will) Zaiban is quite effective. Ask your doctor....Chantix - It-s a new approach to quitting. It does not contain nicotine, like the gums, patches, etc.
Instead, it -subdues- the receptors in your brain which
cause you to crave cigarettes.
You take it for a week before quitting. Some people take it longer before quitting. On about the 5th day, I noticed I was smoking less. And, noticing that I didn-t -need-(addiction) a cigarette, I just -wanted- (habit) one.
On my day 6 of taking the pills, I quit cigarettes.. That was 3 days ago.
I don-t have the least interest in smoking. I-ve been more active (instead of sitting and smoking). And, I smoked for years!
Of course, I-m only on day 3 of being a non-smoker. But, I
feel real good about it, and don-t think I-ll go back to them.
Most Dr-s recommend you take the pills for 3 months.
But, some take it for longer - or shorter periods of time.
Some insurances cover it. Mine does not. It costs $100/mo.
Side effects listed are minimal. Some people have nausea or gassy stomachs. And, of course, many people start eating more. But, those are better than smoking!
Give it a try! Best to you. There is only one way to stop smoking. Make the decission and quit. Dont use any crutches that dont work, cold turkey is the only way.Cold turkey does not work for everyone.
Product recommendation depends on your current medical condition, medication(s) you may be on at the moment, what products have you tried (to help you quit smoking), and etc.
My advice for you is to talk to your doctor. If not your doctor, then at least your pharmacist. They should be able to help you find a product that is right for you.the will to live *)get a doctor to help you or join a support group... they can give things like a nicotine patch or some other things to ease out the withdrawal.
but if those are not part of the options and you want to do-it-yourself then try substituting your oral needs... instead of smoking try lollipops or a celery stick until that becomes your habits instead of smoking.
to get your mind off the cravings...do something else like play video games, jog or go to the gym.
if there-s a set-back like you just can-t help yourself... try to compensate by jogging or eating an all vegetable meal afterwards especially veggies you don-t like as some sort of punishment for the set-back.
keep a journal of your progress and set-backs. and be realistic.
don-t hang-out with people who smoke like chimneys...you-d be tempted to join in.
if you really can-t quit then cut-back...meaning only 1 cigarrette a day! and that-s it!!! you don-t even have to smoke everything...just hold it until it burns off.
good luck!!!! and do this for yourself because you really want to and not because somebody else want you to!!If you are really serious about smoking....hold on I need to take a drag...o.k. there is a new product out called I think Chantex or something like that. It is by prescription and I heard very good things about it....have you tried the nicoderm patch???Honestly, I would ask your doctor what suits you best.Try JESUScold turkey! I went to Walmart and bought a kit called -smoke away.- It came with an inspirational cd, anti-anxiety tablets, and natural vitamins to help the withdraw. The cd was great it informed you on how you would feel and how to deal with it. It also helped me to buy bags of totsie pops to satisfy the oral craving. It was only hard for about 3 wks but it was on and off. Everyone is different but if you really want to quit its not hard. I havent had a cigarette for 3 years last feb! And I smoked cigarettes since I was 9 yrs old! I wish you all the luck in the world!! Youll be amazed at how well you feel in the end.
