I stopped smoking 1 week ago? help? -

I know I have to give it a while and it will take a few months but will the cravings even slightly reduce anytime soon??? Im 19 been smoking for 6 years, 20 a day for last 3 years. also how long will it take me to be completely weaned off cigarettes???You actually, physically are off the nicotine need.
Now you have a whole bunch of other issues, like the hands thing, or the usual signals, like picking up the phone, or taking a break thing, or beginning a task or ending a dinner.
All your previous signals for lighting up.
You can sip water, file your nails, use a strength ball, whatever you need to do with your hands so they aren-t just laying there.
One thing I did that helped a bit with the early cravings was to pucker up and breathe in slowly. This reduces your oxygen a little and its a little like taking a drag.
The other thing I did was remind myself I wasn-t going to be smelling like an ashtray. It helps to sniff an old ashtray and remind yourself that-s what you smell like.
And best of all take that money and buy something sinfully sinful,
Like splurge at Victoria-s Secret, or a god-awfully expensive soap or perfume. Something really fun.I just quit 3 weeks ago so I totally get it. I still have some cravings but they do diminish more and more every week. Are you on the patch, it-s personally the best solution. Also you should think about what your smoking triggers are, for example if you smoke when your board then instead of lighting up call someone.
Most ppl get over the bodily cravings for nicotine before they get over the physical cravings, such as hold a cigarette or blowing smoke.
Trust me it will only get easier. A general craving will pass in two minutes so when it happens do something to take your mind off of it and it will pass. Remember that people sometimes don-t quit on their first shot and that-s ok you can always try again and learn from what made start and avoid it next time.

best of luck!!!
