Tobacco works on the pleasure sensors in the brain, its hard to retrain them if you have smoked for a long time!
I went on Chantix, so my side effects were vivid dreams, and some nausea. I also gained 20 lbs in 3 months. Going cold turkey causes headaches, nicotine withdrawal, weight gain, jitteryness, mood swings, insomnia....you name it and people have experienced it when they quit.
