Still wanna smoke: Think again :-)I quit cold turkey (for the hundredth time) in April of 2000. Hopefully the last time. I haven-t had one since.forget the gum program,,,,it makes food taste like sh*t,,,and I hate gum anyway...........I-m now on 3rd box of the patch,,only one week left to go ,,,stopped 12/24/06 at 6pm,,,I have gone a day without patch just to see how I-d do,,,,,,,,,didn-t smoke,,,and I take the patch off at bed time(to many vivid DREAMS).......Oh i did stop 5/18/93,for 8 years ,hated the $.75 a pack price,, stopped cold turkey!!!!!! And that was easy back then????I chewed a lot of big pieces of bubble gumi quit cold turkey.. tried everything else and it didnt work. it was a lot of tension during the first month but it eases off afterwards... have not been smoking for 4 years now. LOVIN IT!I quit smoking in 1991 and it was hard but not impossible. The biggest problem I had was the -habbit- The cravings I could deal with. But I found when I was in specific situations (at a stop light where I normally light up) I would reach for a smoke. I managed to deal with this with herbal cigerettes (no not the illegal kind) you can buy them at most all healthfood shops and though the taste is not what you are used to you will find it will help you when you are at the end of your rop and just can not go on any more. To deal with the cravings themself I had lasar done and I really had no cravings at all. good luck!-The Easy Way to Stop Smoking- by Allan Carr. Find it at Barnes and Nobel. Amazing results.I quit with the assistance of Commit lozenges three years ago, still smoke free. Good luck, keep trying, it took me six tries to finally succeed.Cold turkey baby...not me, but several friends. That-s my plan when I decide to quit.Stopping smoking ?- do not answer after Feb 1.? -

Stop using nicotine patches? what to do? -
Hi guys - gals,
so i have stopped smoking ciggies for 5 days now, by using the patch, so tommorow i want to try to stop using the patch, but i-m so scared i will withdraw.
any tips? i used to smoke about 10 to 15 a day, the patch shows it has 15mg of nicotine,
anyone else got hooked on the patches?I quit two years ago this past June. I did it cold turkey and haven-t had any since then. It-s really all mental and if you really want to quit, you will have the willpower to do so. If you truly don-t want to quit, it won-t work. I would remove the patch and take day by day. Good luck

first you must want to quit, set a realistic date to quit 5 or 6 weeks.when you light a smoke , smoke it as short as possible do not take a couple of puffs and put it out. every puff you take tell yourself it taste bad. e mail me if you want to go more in depth. in any case follow the above until you reach your quit date. at that time stop smoking.Step 1 you have to want to quit, Until that is in your head nothing will help
The way I did,
1. For a week I recorded times and time spacing between smokes
Like 1 every 5 min
2. The next week I spaced my smokes out another 5 min between
3. continue spacing them out,
In the end you will be able to get away from the table w/o lighting up, you can have a drink w/o a smoke
If you don-t succeed your only normal
Start again
LOL I-ve been smoke free for almost 2 years
Quit a 5 pack a day habbit, smoked for over 55 yearsThere is no such thing as smoking -as much- or -this much-. Smoking is a yes or no proposition. I quit smoking in early January this year - although I considered my smoking -moderate- - about 10 a day. Prior to quitting cold turkey, for a week or so, I stopped carrying a pack. I used to buy a pack and hand it over to a non-smoking co-worker, and I-d ask for a cigarette from him in the AM, then after lunch and one before heading home. This reduced my smoking to about 3-4 a day, and I did not smoke at home. I chewed gum (Tridents - I chewed as many as 50 pieces a day for 2 weeks when I quit cold turkey), drank a lot of water, and ate 2000 mg of Vitamin C. Even though my tongue had sores from the gum, it was much better than smoking. Now that I-ve quit for about a month, I do not see a heck of a lot of difference in my health, but I am saving some moolah for sure. So - stop carrying or even buying a pack, and trick yourself into delaying the smoke break. Widen the break interval by 50-100% and you will see an automatic drop in the number of cigs you smoke. But eventually, try to quit - or prepare yourself to quit. Start reading up about damages from Tobacco, watch some anti-tobacco ads, read a couple books - you-d get strong enough to wake up one day and give it up altogether. If I can do it, so can you. Its all in the head.you most do,nt use cigarette after any your repeat work in your life as in do,nt use cigarette after anything ate or drink because ate and drink in your life is repeat .Stop the influences that lead you to smoke. You probably smoke in certain situation, so stop doing them. Put something else in your mouth. Get the will power to quit and do it!
Or when you get that craving just wait until the next craving before smoking again.
You know all the negatives, it-s up to you!Quit completely. Any smoking it too much.Use a straight jacket or something??
I don-t no?chew gum and drink water or low cal drinksStop carrying smokes with you everywhere. And quit smoking when you drink... I-m still working on that one.you an only stop smoking if u r really willing to. otherwise no use for you to some question and read the reply and that-s it.How can i stop smoking as much? -
