I have been trying to have a baby for about 6 years now and my doctor said that if i stop smoking my chances will increase fast so i need to know the best way to quit smoking with out that much money. i was going to get a prescription from my doctor but i have no insurance and the meds would cost 120 dollars a month for up to 6 months with no promiss that it would work for me so what do you recommend anything would help please!!!First, you must have the WILL to quit. If you don’t have the will, it won’t happen.
First, set a date when you will quit smoking.
Forget the medications available. They are expensive. I would suggest ‘poor man’s ‘ acupuncture. The area acupuncturists use to stop people from smoking are the earlobes but you don’t have to stick your earlobes with needles. Rather, whenever you get the urge, grab both your earlobes and massage them using light pressure with your forefingers and thumbs. While doing this, tell yourself you don’t need that next cigarette. You can do this for 30 seconds or a minute. If you still have the urge, repeat the process. But as always, no method works if you don’t have the will. been smoking for 30 years and i need helpJust try to ween yourself off. Don-t cold turkey it, or you-ll go crazy, and revert back. Those who ween are the more successful ones.This worked for me...
Start off with 21mg patches and use nibbles of 2mg gum as needed until you can ween off of the gum. Use the patches twice as long as they recommend, then go to the next step.
When the urges get overwhelming, rub the patch. It will give you a little boost. Wear the patches for 24 hours, and try to stretch out the time past 24 hours when you can.***remember it is not a bad habit it is a drug addiction. I-ve only smoked hookah about 4 times so far, the first two times there was a 4 month gap in between, and the last two were on subsequent days.
Basically the alst times I smoked, Friday and Sat night me and my friend get into smoke blowing contests and he and I usually suck from about 5 pipes and see who can bring out the most. We also blew the smoke into a water bottle and then drank it with the smoke inside -.-
my knee was shaking the whole time and I was really dizzy as well as him, we were pretty dead after like 15 minutes. My stomahc felt empty and it hurt kind of :Sdid you really mean -YOU DRANK THAT WATER??-

you can smoke that thing but please don-t drink that s*** again... as it contains ashes and i think it might be poisonous. it filters the smoke so it would have probable side effects if you keep drinking it...
smoking tobacco is not healthy and would cause many cancers as well as bad colored teeth and lips... its totally up to you to quit smoking!

i put it in this catorgory cuz i didnt know which one it went under. im starting to wonder if theres something wrong with me i shouldnt be sucking my thumb still. but i dunno i guess i would say it is harder than to stop smoking because your thumb is always there. (no i dont smoke) k well i do it when i go to sleep when i am watching tv, when im sick, when im bored, or upset, etc.It-s actually not as uncommon as you might think. Here-s a thought on how to stop though even though it might sound a little iffy: I-m a clean freak and I-m always washing my hands and using hand sanitizer. Sometimes I-ll touch my lip and then later I-ll accidentally taste the hand sanitizer on my lips and it is so bitter it makes me cringe! Therefore, maybe you should get in the habit of using that a lot because there-s no way you-ll want to put that thumb in your mouth with that on them! And slowly you won-t need the sanitizer anymore and you-ll break your habit. Hope this helps!Im 13 and still do so =]

I do it without realising, but somehow i never do it when i have friends over.
Theres this stuff that you apply like clear nail polish that tastes really bitter, and that helped me.
Stick a bandaid on your thumb at night, or just stickytape,but not too tight!
Its about self-contol. Dont just give in when youre watching a movie. Refrain yourself!
CHew gum istead, but not too much or it-ll give you cramps!

Theres no use trying to stop if you dont want to. You have to want to stop. Just keep trying =]This would go into mental health category, and there isn-t really anything wrong with you, it-s just a safety mechanism. It-s your body-s way of keeping a constant behavioral pattern.
Some people tap their fingers, others twirl their hair, you suck your thumb. The old saying -Idle hands are the devil-s playground- is kinda true here.
Take care.I had this problem when i was about 10, and i had to go to a sleepover. This is what i did... First, i got ALOT of nailpolish and put it on the finger i liked to suck on. Then when i would go and put in my mouth it would taste like something died! I kept doing it until i finally broke it and didn-t do it at all at my sleepover. Make sure you don-t do it at night, though. Thats where it got me sometimes.there is nothing wrong with you. this is probally just one of your body-s ways of keeping yourself calm or entertained. a good way to stop would probally be putting really hot hotsauce on your thumb. so whenever you go to do it your mouth will burn.
