I have COPD and the Dr. has me steroids and I stopped smoking I am being kind of nasty is this normal? -
I was in the hospital for a week and the Dr. had me on steroids and now I have to keep taking them to get off them slowly I am also on the patch. My boyfriend and i have had several arguments in the past few days.He is still smoking but outside. Will the bad moods go away when I stop using the steroids and have been off the cigarettes for a while.I would guess your doctor has you on prednisone. Prednisone is a strong steroid that will help with inflammation of your bronchial tubes. It has some noticeable side effects. First off weight gain you may gain 10 pounds or more while on this drug. Next dramatic mood swings. The times my doctor put me on prednisone I was unbearable and only had negative and downright mean thoughts. Please, talk with your boyfriend about your breathing medication and its side effects and let him know for awhile you are not being yourself so try to cut each other a lot of slack.Steroids can do that, as can stopping smoking. Is it possible you could use some nicotine gum? That might help you a little. Good luck on your stopping smoking!I have COPD and the Dr. has me steroids and I stopped smoking I am being kind of nasty is this normal? -

Hope tht helped!Well most people are addicted to something whether it be alcohol or food or drugs in one way or another. Your choice, and it is a choice, is probably not the worst but it is also not the best. It will require real will power to stop. You have to want to stop. Consider the money you will save and put it toward something else instead that you really want, Consider the health implications (lung cancer?) or if need be replace one addiction with another healthier one. Good luckI know what you mean. Many people say its not addicting but I definatley think its mentally addicting to say the least. The best thing to do would be to go to rehab or go to the doctor and talk to them about it. They are not going to call the police on you or anything especially when you are trying to quite.Go To Rehab.Ive been an avid pot smoker too :) the only thing that has given me the -will- to quit was my pregnancies, and honestly i didnt even quit till i had too (mandatory drug-testing on newborns, ill lose my kids if one is born w/ it in their system). Is there a specific reason u need to quit? The motivation of jail, a job or losing something over it might be the only thing to -make- u quit. Personally, i dont think pot is addictive, its in the mind...its not like drinking, or doin another kind of -harder drug-, even smoking cigarettes is way harder to stop and we all kno it kills us :) I cant really give u a suggestion on how to quit, but being around ppl who smoke wont help...so the first step would be getting rid of ur friends and contacts...but it doesnt sound like u have a -problem-. Thats just my personal opinion! :)Im finding it so hard to stop smoking cannabis? -

Is it possible to stop smoking weed? -
Yes, it is.
You just have to ease yourself off of it. Not very easy if you smoke every. Single. Day.Certainly but the emotional, physcological addiction is difficult to overcome. You should look into NA, Narcotics Anonymous for suggestions on how to live your life free of weed and any and all other mind altering substances. I have been in recovery for over 15 yrs.Yes, many have, at least the ones with enough sense to stop. Like all smoking, it can easily be addictive, more for some than others, so everyone is different. It is all about you, and nothing anyone says will help you stop, it is up to you.
www.Revelle-Stop-Smoking.comSure. Most find it easy. For about 15% of smokers weed is physically addictive, and judging by addicted friends who have gone through it, stopping is pretty damn hard, sort of like giving up cigarettes. But some of them managed.Yes, anything is possible. As someone already said, its more of a psychological addiction. It may be hard at first, but you would have to be strong mentally in order to completely stop.YEP, I USED TO SMOKE EVERY DAY, IN THE MORNING, NOON AND NIGHT. START BY SMOKING A JOINT/BLUNT LESS A DAY. SMOKE LESS EVERYDAY UNTIL YOU STOP. IT WAS NOT REALLY HARD FOR ME TO STOP. I JUST MADE UP MY MIND THAT THE S*** WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND I GAINED ALOT OF WEIGHT FROM EATING AFTER GETTING HIGH.Yes you can stop smoking weed, but the real question is do you want to. If you want to bad enough anything is possible.Yes, it-s not physically addicting, only psychologically. Is it possible to stop smoking weed? -

How to stop smoking??? Please ans asap? -
How to stop smoking??? Please ans asap? -
Justly never smoke.well, you just stop.
honestly, i used to be a heavy smoker...about 2 packets (marlboro) daily. then i had a wake up call.
instead of quitting immediately (which often results in failures), i cut down to 1 packet. - usually, i make it very inconvenient to smoke- e.g i put my cigs in the office, or distribute the remainder to other smokers.
so, when i have the urge, i will have to go out - buy another packet...gradually, you-ll smoke lesser - lesser....and before you realized it, you can quit smoking!Go to prison in California.do it as you like - stop immediatelysomeone asks this question every weekI quit a month ago and am going strong. Here-s what I have done:
I don-t hang out with any smokers anymore.
I don-t go to smoky places (e.g., bars).
Obviously, I-ve gotten rid of all smokes, ashtrays and other smoking paraphenalia from my house and life.
I quit drinking, too (we-ve all started up again after a few drinks).
Started drinking a lot of hot tea. Celestial Seasonings -tension tamer- works wonders.
The biggest key for me: exercize. Lots of it. I have really embraced my new hobby of cardio bike riding and weightlifting and I am loving it! Every day I bike I push myself a little harder-- trying to increase my stamina. Since I am so into this new hobby, I don-t smoke because I know smoking would interfere with it.
I also set a quit date 3 or 4 weeks in advance and stuck to it. It allowed me to get psyched up for it. Set your quit date for a day off from work (a weekend day). You don-t want to have to deal with work when you are going through the withdrawl and the crabbiness and spaceyness that accompanies it.
The first day was horrible, excruciating pain. But you survive. I took a really long sauna that day. It REALLY helps. Join a health club with a sauna. And you can totally afford it -- you-re throwing away 70-100 bucks a month on smokes; why not instead invest that money into your health?
It really is key to replace the smoking behaviour with something else-- again, some form of exercize is highly recommended. It also helps you break through those nicotene craving tension moments!
Quitting is hard, but each day after you quit it gets easier and easier. Think about all the rewards of being a nonsmoker. It-s totally worth the pain.
Ask yourself: who is in control of my life? Me-- or this stupid cancer-causing weed?
I wish you the best of luck! I hope myt suggestions are helpful. And remember: even if it doesn-t take this time around, there-s always next time. It-s always hard to quit, but each time it gets a little easier!JUST STOP SMOKINGFind your inner peace. Take a vaccation to any tropical island etc. If you go to church. ask your minister for a prayer. DO YOU REALLY HAVE THE DESIRE TO STOP. ?cold turkey it is the best way.
stick a picture of a cancerous lung on your table. it-ll make u think twice before lighting up another one.you can try the nicotine patchesI think you should go and have a picture of your lungs taken so you can see how black your lungs are and how bad they look and then start subtracting about 10 to 20 years off your life and then believe me you will stop smoking instantlyU SHOULD MENTALLY STRONG FOR THAT AND HONESTLY THINK ABOUT UR HEALTH. I HAD 15YRS SMOKING EXPERIENCE BUT TOTALLY QUIT RECENTLY. USE GUM TO ENGAGE UR MOUTH AT THE TIME OF SMOKING. DON-T TAKE ANY CIGER AFTER FOOD. JUST WAIT FOR AN HOUR. AND SLOW DOWN. AND COMPLETELY QUIT.I THINK U CAN U CAN U CAN... I KNOW U CAN.....
PLS DON-T FORGET TO INFORM U MY MSG HELP....See if you can find a Seventh Day Adventist church that offers a -Breathe Free- stop smoking workshop. Also, there is an herbal product called -Smoke Away- which works very well for some. I know of someone who used it. Besides that, make up your mind to do it even though you will suffer from withdrawal symptoms. The physical symptoms only last 21 days or so. After that the struggle is psychological. Of course, the American Cancer Society has lots of good info regarding smoking too. Be sure to surround yourself with people who support your decision to stop smoking and remember it-s not the end of the world if you slip up. Don-t quit until you quit! Take care, ButtercupI-m not a smoker but I sympathize - I-m a little bit of shopaholic and have a hard time with that. But anyway my brother quit for over a year now -he used a quit smoking program in his area - check your local Health Dept. or look up on the net for a smoking Gestation program in your area - He told me the program was very supportive and provided a counselor to talk it out with also they tried hypnotherapy techniques that he said really helped - after all addiction is just Matter over Mind -you have to gain control and turn it back to MIND Over MATTER - though if you doubt your strength and ability to do this you will not quit smoking - above all you have to believe in yourself - and dont listen to Nay- sayers who will say things like -you-ll smoke again or you cant quit- You have to be above that type of thinking- I would also recomend you read some books on possitive thinking - It helps to change old patterns of thinking in order to quit a habit - cause if you did quit but still thought the same way about smoking then you may start again without trying and youd be right back where you started. I know my brother said it was one of the biggest battles he ever experienced but it was worth it - he even quit drugs and alcohol too -I-m extremly proud of him - He did it and so can anyone if they want to bad enough - Just remember only you can control you so make the desicion to quit and commit to it - and do whatever you can in your power to quit and you will succeed. After all its just a cigarette (tabacco, and deadly toxins rolled into paper that kills your health) YOU DONT NEED IT !!!
Good luck to you and dont give up - you-ll make it and when you do -CELEBRATE!!!I dont think anyone has a good answer for you,but try this...seems to ease the craving if you quit already,Find NON-Smokers.with out the smokey air,u wont crave.with the people u chose that dont smoke, makes it easier to stay calm.doesnt mean get rid of your friends that do smoke, just try to stay out of that AIR area.helped? How to stop smoking???
