Is it easy to break this obessive habit ?
and how to ?
I found it quite difficult...I smoke again when I-ve got nth to doHey, I-m going through exactly the same thing. I had smoked for 30 years. Everyone said, -When are you going to quit?- and I would answer, -When I-m dead, because I enjoy smoking so much.- Well, guess what, I started cutting down in January. I would smoke 2/3 of a cigarette and throw the rest away. I would smoke 1/2 of a cigarette, and put it out, and finish the other 1/2 later. Slowly I went from 15 a day to 5 a day. Then to 4, 3, 2, 1. Then 1 every 2 days. Then guess what happened? When I had a smoke I had pain in my chest (heart?) and dizziness in my head. I couldn-t fall asleep or stay asleep. It became terrible to have a cigarette. But I would still have a few puffs every few days. I would suffer and feel miserable. And then it became worse to smoke than to not smoke. It is now August 10th. I quit a few days ago. That-s it. I can-t and won-t have another one. I-m still going through withdrawal but a few more days and I will hopefully start feeling better. Try cutting down. Hope it helps.I literally had the **** scared out me when looked inside the lungs of someone whom smoked for 40 years., Trust me you-de quit too. It literally looks like a mud slide inside your body, emagine that!don-t buy cigarettes... seriously!!!smoking is a horrible habbit to break. not that i know, im only 14, but thats what i hear. my mom used to smoke and my dad does smoke.( not in the house tho ). my mom stopped cold turkey and hasnt smoked for 3 years( at least not around me ). anyway...theres the patch, but thats really expensive, nicorett gum, or theres this thing where you can go see a phymposis and they can hymatise you into never smoking again.I would try injecting heroine for a while. That will take your mind off it.just don-t do it.yeah...alls you gotta do is stop buying cigsBy finding something else to replace that desire. Sometimes medicine patches, gum and Hypnosis can help too!yea it is,to stop you from smoking you can just use gumThe following link is to a previous question, -What are some useful tips to help me stop smoking for good?-

Please stop smoking...You know its wrong, or You wouldnt be asking. I just quit cold 6 years ago....No patch, or gum nonsense.
One thing to remember: smoking doesnt calm your nerves. Sometimes the act of taking abreak, with long deep breathes does.....which You can do without tobacco. Good luck to You !that-s easy, simply program yourself to clear your lungs bcuz you love your lungs and you don-t want nicotine to stick on it. And frighten yourself that one day you can have difficulty in breathing if you don-t stop today.i am getting ready to quit. i have been smoking for over 40 years. my plan is to use the patch in conjunction with a fake cigarette i found online. that helps with the handling and hand to mouth habit which is why a lot of people start-up again.- Feed The Opioid Receptors In Your Brain. -How to stop smoking? -

I know smoking is a cause for heart disease. I know 430,000 people die every year in America due to smoking related disease, heart being the major one. I know smoking is too bad and it has to be even banned like cannabis or any other drug. I know smoking is dangerous extraordinaire. And yet, I read somewhere smokers who quit smoking may develop serious heart disease within 2 years fromn the date they stopped smoking. Is it true? There may have been a study on this, I haven-t seen it. The problem is that these people may have had the same complications if they continued to smoke. It might not mean that quitting is bad for you, it might be that quitting too late is bad for you.
BTW: I-ve been smoke free for 2 weeks.Heart disease usually is caused by a build up in the arteries. Heart attack can result because the blockage restricts the amount of oxygenated blood that gets through the heart. Without oxygen, the heart does not function properly. The cause of blockages? Poor diet. Control your diet and exercise.
Smoking can lead to a NUMBER of terrible illnesses. Applaud yourself for quitting. Your lungs have a number of stretchy tissues that enable them to expand. Smoking DESTROYS them. While they may be able to heal, sometimes people smoke for so long that they don-t have TIME to heal. Living with any type of COPD such as Emphesyma or Chronic Bronchitis is not fun. Emphesyma causes the alveoli (where carbon dioxide and oxygen are exchanged) to collapse and complications follow.
Stop smoking.
Learn to eat healthy.
Be active.Chances are those people would have died even sooner had they not quit! Every cardiologist will tell you that one of the most important things you should do for your heart if you smoke is to quit NOW!
Of course it-s easier said than done, but if you-re worried about your health, it-s a must.

Good luck! The smoking hazards are over exagerated,, over smoking is injurious like every otherthings.. Once stoped smoking the effects heal.It-s very possible but not because they quit. The effects of smoking will stay with you for years. It dissipates over time but doesn-t just disappear when the cigarettes do.smoking does cause heart decease and its been proved time after time not to mention other complications your body does heal its self but it all depends how long a person has been smoking forIs there any link between quitting smoking and heart disease.? -

I smoked cigarettes and other things for about 4 years ( i know im a POS whatever) well i recently quit all of it. I-m young and i never thought i would feel the effects! i should have listened to everyone telling me how im going to regret it! but, i feel almost asthmatic sometimes. i know i do not have asthma though...i just went running and i feel like a tickling sensation in my lungs and i feel like i can-t take deep enough breaths. i don-t feel like my lungs are closing up or anything like that. i was just wondering...will this go away? it-s only been maybe a month or two since ive stopped smoking...i smoke a cigarette now and then. I know if i want to stop i really need to STOP it all. but is there any thing that i can do to get my lungs back to normal? i know stop smoking but anything else? and how long will it take?Honestly, it will probably take 1-4 years for you to feel better, and free. You need to totally stop smoking. Everytime you smoke ONE cigarette, you are damaging your lungs THAT MUCH MORE.
Check the sources for the effects of smoking- that page is quite informative. Good luck, =)well you need to quit 100% have you started coughing up black tar yet? cuz you will.... your lungs are restoring itself... but dont work to hard on them just yet.... might do you harm....
try a steamy shower every day and take deep breaths....You have to stop smoking completely and let your body totally recover from the damage that smoking caused.you need to stop smoking.you need you lungs to recover.try to take things easy.take a hot shower. Why don-t you start drinking milk every day? Just a cup or two... You will feel much better.sounds like asthma to me. better get it checked out.Your symptoms might not be your lungs. What you describe with the tickling and the not being able to take a deep breath is a type of heartburn (seriously). There is a nerve in your lower esophagus that gets overstimulated by a little reflux. You don-t need enough reflux to feel heartburn for this to happen. The sensation is the feeling like you need to cough, and this tight chest/can-t take a deep enough breath sensation. Get some Tums and take them for a few days to a week and see if these symptoms go way. (They will!)
