I-m a 67 y/o male. I have copd, heart disease, high blood pressure, emphazyma, and asthma.

I quite smoking on July 31 of this year, via the Chantix stop smoking plan. Prior to my stopping smoking I had gone from 252 lbs down to 218 lbs in about a year. I-m back up to around 250 labs now. Instead of smoking, I-m eating all the time!

I-m stressed out 90% of the time, too, with the craving for a cigarette. So, any opinions on this?Yes sir, I do.
Smoking for you should be considered from now on a terrible crime. You have COPD, emphysema, asthma and HBP, you cannot, should not be allowed to smoke ever ever never never again.
You gained weight? So be it! You will lose it again if you put your heart and mind to it.
See, if you keep yourself cigarette free you will be able to get up and walk to get rid of those extra pounds, but, if you go back to smoking then you won-t be able to exercise not even a little bit and you will die sooner than if you carry some extra pounds.

whats the long term effects ?Stop smoking in general. Smoking is bad for everybody, and everything.
if you stop smoking youl see your mind will be able to focus more because your brain isnt always thinking about your addiction. but long term affects of smoking weed is basicly the same thing as smoking cigaretes, drugs are all bad for you. you should get that through your brain. its HORRIBLY BAD FOR YOU, theres no reason to be doing it. it will get you high and then what. your back to normal. what did that accomplish? And weed does help natually treat the sorness and help repair muscles so it can help with that too.

you could also try eating weed (*boil the weed in oil and use that oil in brownies) to avoid taking in smoke all togethernot really ...

good luck ..There is no long term effect from smoking trees, if your smoking all day every day you start forgetting stuff, but that goes away if you cut down. And i agree with the focuses the mind, a good buzz makes me preform better with what ever I-m doing. And if any one says trees is worse than cigs its bs, there-s tons of awful chemicals in cigs only thing worse about trees is there more tar. Trees keep people open minded and down to earth to.

dont use the nicotine patch.... its very harmful as it gives u nicotine into ur body all day long....

so definitely go in for the meditation and ur willpower thing.....Your friend has to WANT to stop, and if that ain-t there, then,...but it always tears me up to see people wasting their breath on a cigarette.determination. Unless you determine, no one including medicine can help you. just quit it no reduction and counting the days. keep away from negative influence like it helps to reduce tension, it is a better way to solve the broblem. condition your mind and whenever the thought comes, think of something like your child, job , best personality and avoid the thought entering your mind. Put it simply -Mind control- the best and surest way. nothing else.Wanting to quit. That-s the only way. If your friend doesn-t want to quit then you can-t help.

i havnt smoked cigarettes in like 3 months and when i did smoke i would smoke one cigarret a day. i smoked yesterday. only a little stub.and today my throught is killing me. should i be concerned?Yes, of course and you should give up bungee jumping, being in a car without a crash helmet, riding a bike, climbing ladders, inhaling fumes while painting in oils, chocolate, walking in areas where there are cars and exhaust fumes, sexual activity, skiing, parachute jumping, rock climbing, cosmetic surgery, drinking alcohol, crossing the road, travelling on a late night bus, loud music, eating doughnuts, horse riding.
All these things are hazardous to your health and you must keep yourself and others in a safe safe world.

You could try reading a book I think that-s fairly safe, but check your posture first.Yeah, most definitely.
