did you have side effects what did you think of themchantix is known to cause nightmares, and the people i have talked to that have tried it have experienced them. these same people have also said that it is helping them to quit.yes I did and it worked. I wanted to stop smoking. my breathing was bad. had tried patches previously without success. In January 2007 my doctor prescribed Champix. In the accompanying paperwork were details of possible side effects. However I commenced the course, I felt sick for about an hour after taking, but not actually being sick. It was felt it was a worthwhile discomfort .. I was monitored fortnightly by the practice nurse. The course is usually for three months, but after two months I felt I was ready to stop. The nurse was not sure, but I did. I have not smoked a cigarette since, I felt like one from time to time, but resisted. Now 15 months and no desire to smoke a t all. My health and breathing are much better.. I know there have been reports of depression and suicides , mainly from America, but relatively few in relation to the number taking it. Wonder if the depression is as much to the stopping smoking as opposed to the drug itself. Personally I would recommend it.I have not personally taken it, but both my parents have. My dad who is 52 had been smoking since he was 13 and my mom who is 50 had been smoking since she was 18. They both took champix and have not smoked a single cigarette in over a year. The only side effect that they experienced was when they first started taking it if they smoked it made them feel extremely nauseous. Good luckI did. worked like a charm. Full quit after 50 years of smoking, mostly pipes.Almost every drug I have ever taken has had a psychotropic affect on me, particularly dreams. Vivid dreams, but not nightmares. Almost fun.good luck with any stop smoking aid will power is harder at first but has certainly kept me off it for almost 5 months now Chewing gum and cleaning my teeth helped also drinking lotts of cold water the worst is the first couple of days but keep telling yourself if you can make it thro the first day you can surley do 2 days so on Me I never ever thought in a million years that I could do it but here I am smoke free and I feel fantastic about it I smoked for 30 years as many as 30 a day so If i can so can you good luck
