Any stop-smoking solutions? -
I-ve been smoking for about 4 years, and I really need to quit but its hard to go -cold turkey- and I-ve already tried nicotine patches, which dont work. If anyone has any inexpensive solutions, please let me know.I listed 3 programs below for you to check out. I used the last one and have not smoked in almost a year now (9 months) and know of atleast 5 others that quit using it also. The other two have great information as well and are very good with high results, but the bottom link is the best.Helps you to quit smoking today. Higher success rate than patches, gum etc... It has just became popular and several are recommending the techniques

Stop smoking in less than an hour. This one sounds like it fits in the -too good to be true- category, but my cousin swears it worked like magic. I also know a few others that have had success with it, but have not used it myself (read next paragraph) so I can-t personally say. However, I have also read a lot about it that well over 50% have succeeded with it.

This is what i used to quit smoking after 10+ years and it is guaranteed to work!! Don-t see that often. I have been smoke free for right at 9 months and do not have the craving to smoke ever again. This program really saved my life and I recommend it 100% to everyone.

All 3 of the links above will give you wonderful information, and I-d check them all out b/c the longer you wait the harder it is. I know from experience, when I had smoked for about 2 years I quit for a month every so often without a terribly huge problem, but after the 5 year mark I couldn-t make it even a couple of days until I used the program above. Good luck and don-t give up!!Actually what worked for me was the anti-smoking campaigns. It made me sick to see the pictures of damage smoking does to your lungs and the commercials with the guy talking with a trache.
Fear was a great motivator for me. I started smoking when I was about 19 or 20, and decided that gaining weight was better than lung disease and death. I was able to quit cold turkey after 8 years of smoking. I also chewed a lot of gum.
Your doctor can prescribe medication to help you too.i found self-hypnosis tapes to be very helpful, i would play them over and over and over and over.....it changes the way your mind thinks about smoking. also, avoid anything that makes you crave one...like soft drinks (drink water instead...a LOT of water)You can research it on the internet. Recently I read somewhere that there is a prescription drug that is suppose to help.
Here is a support group.

I found a site that talks about the new precription drug that has been approved by the FDA to help smokers quit. The drug is called Chantix and here is a link about it.

I hope this is helpfull and I wish you the best of luck kicking this habit.Well, my mom quit smoking..she bought filters from the drug store it filters out the nicotine so you get used to not having any. She quit smoking within 2 months. Also, limit yourself to so many per day. Say you smoke a pack a day (20) Just start out saying you will only have 19...18,17..etc. Also, as a smoker myself, sometimes, I dont feel like smoking..I light up and wonder why I am doin it. What I have tried, is just light up, take a couple of drags..and put it out. It gives me the nicotine I need to cure my craving..just use the cig the next time you need one. I have noticed with me, it is not really so much the nicotine I need.it is also the -hand to mouth fixation- Just take an unlit cigarette, pretend like you are smoking...if you dont want to use a real one (in fear or lighting up) they sell fake ones. There are so many things you can do..you may even come up with something yourself! As a healthcare provider I have had alot of success ordering Chantix. It costs less than a pack of cigarettes a day to take if you have to pay for it. And it is well worth it. The way this new drug has been working is better than anything we have ever had before. And congratulations on making the decision to quit.
