Any cheap ideas on how to stop, w/o pillsHere is MY advice ,,,,,Idea; You must decide to quit, NO B.S.!...When you decide, you need to be SERIOUS;;,,Start by cutting down right away, at 1st, just something, ANYTHING!!.. Do this by putting time between cigs, at least 10 minutes at 1st,,,,or go with 15, or 20, see I don-t know your habit as well as you so??? After 2 weeks, add another 10 minutes between cigs....WEAR A WATCH!!!... DONT CHEAT!!!...see what i-m saying??..get it?...2 weeks later, time to quit all together!! Try that.... AND Once you quit... Use ANYTHING as a sub.. Chew tobbaco, gum, eat , Anything!! to get you by for awhile...I Quit my LAST time by putting time between ciggarettes, it gets your system used to the fact that you-re gonna not be able to smoke all you used to...so when you quit, its easier.......REMEMBER!!! if smoking is so great, why do you want to quit???There are lots of ways you can stop smoking without using pills - some people find hypnosis works for them, others find accupuncture works. There are also forms of laser therapy which can inhibit the nicotine receptors, stopping you from getting cravings.
If you don-t want anything like that, then it is possible to stop cold turkey - the cravings can be hard to resist, but they don-t last long, and many people find it-s the habit that is hardest to break - they reach for a cigarrette because they-re used to doing so, even though they don-t actually WANT one at the time. If you can find something to replace the smoking habit, then you will be in a much better position.Good for you for wanting to stop!
It won-t be easy, but you-ll definitely live better
without the devil sticks,
if only by saving a fortune in cigarettes
(a mere $3 pack-per-day habit
comes to over $1,000 per year!!!)
or whatever you were smoking,
not to mention the inevitable hospital bills.
Use your favorite search engine to look for home remedies; also check with the American Cancer Society and other legitimate medical-based websites, and/or consult your parents and/or physician, if only to avoid taking bogus cure-alls. Many communities have smoking cessation groups, quite a few of which are free; check your community or town hall bulletin boards, local newspapers, hospitals, etc.
Good luck!Try this: Each day or if you want each week a cigarett less.Throw it in the garbage and don-t care about the money you-ve spent because your health and habbits are more expensive than a pack or two of cegarettes.Put each number of thrown cigarett on your calendar as a reminder and you will start making your new habbit...much better one.
All the best
SezaI love the patch. It-s really great! It-s cheaper...they have generic brands that are quite a bit less money and they work the same.
It takes care of physical cravings...seriously. Plus, if you smoke while on the patch, you get really nauseous...
The generic line costs me 20$ a week...quite a bit less than 7 packs of cigarettes!
Cold turkey also works. You have to leave your debit card/credit card at home and only carry less money than a pack of cigarettes costs. Cigarettes here are 11$, so I would only carry 10$ cash. It worked. If you really want to stop smoking than get family members to help, tell them if they see you with a cig than take it from you if your really committed because famliy usualy don-t let one another down.just say nodon-t you ever buy or get it from someone else
