i have been trying some pills, they affect me really bad. they made me extremly aggressive and it was scary so i was wondering about these other methods.Hypnosis can be real effective for quitting smoking, long as you really want to, and to that I think you would succeed with it.I tried hypnosis once but lit up when I left. I was chewing gum and that was a distraction so if you go with that, make sure you are completely relaxed and not chewing gum or anything. I knew several people who have tried acupuncture and 2 people have not smoked and it-s been about 4 years now. Another one went back to smoking in a month or so. I am thinking about trying it. I don-t want to try Chantix because of a lot of people having such bad side effects.
I think the best option for me right now is the acupuncture. I want to quit really bad. I wish it was easy.

im not saying that i am going to start smoking to lose weight. lol. but i do recognize that if a smoker stops smoking, they will tend to gain weight.but as a smoker, does smoking help you to keep off weight?? like you will not eat as much or snack on things if you do smoke? this is just out of curiosity. any opinions, advice is accepted . thanks.Hahaha mabey because they need something to replace smokeing by eatingno it doesnt usually u get kind of lazy and get fat but if you get skinny it means that you are sick
here are some other reason you shouldnt smoke:

* Smokers get 3 times more cavities than non-smokers.
* Smoking lowers your hormone levels.
* When smokers catch a cold, they are more likely than non-smokers to have a cough that lasts a long time. They are also more likely than non-smokers to get bronchitis and pneumonia.
* Teen smokers have smaller lungs and a weaker heart than teen non-smokers. They also get sick more often than teens who don-t smoke.Cigarette smoking makes you lose weight but it is not advised to start smoking or continue smoking for this purpose. Smoking causes loss of weight due to an action which is harmful to the body.

However, I just stopped smoking after 30 years -
One month only and I dont see an increase in appetite but I do want to chew on gum or have a candy as there is a need to keep my mouth occupied-as a substitute of having a ciggie in my mouth.it really goes hand on hand. I used to smoke, it made me stay the same weight about, sometimes id weigh less here and there
