I quit smoking and cant stop coughing! Any ideas? -
I just stopped smoking a week ago, due to chronic respiratory illnesses and i am still coughing really bad, bringing stuff p sometimes and sometimes not. Also, I have been having urination problems from coughing and it makes me not want to leave my house. What should i do? I can-t stay home much longer, I have to get back to school. I have had to come home from school due to -accidents- twice this week. The second time I didnt even make it out of my car. This can not continue.when you cease consuming a substance that has been a problem in the body...the body goes thru a withdrawal period where symptoms are amplified while the remaining toxins [ in this case tobacco] are leaving the body. It usually begins 3-4 days after ceasation, peaks by day 7 and usually starts to wane from day 10 -14 and usually over by day 21.Hang in there ...........you are doing the right thing and in a few weeks will really reap the rewards of not smokingWhen I went to Smoke Stoppers they told us that your body would begin purging itself of smoke residue right after you quit, and to expect to hack up some nasty stuff until it was done. I-d still suggest seeing a DR for a persistent cough that lasts more than a week (be safe!)Your lungs are probably trying to clear themselves. As for the other problem, you should go see a doctor, in the mean time, wear an adult diaper, no one will know you-re wearing one, they look like underpants.water
