OK need help in weight loss and stopping smoking.? -
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I need to lose alot of weight and stop smoking. I am tackling both at the same time. I have a question. I quit once and gained like 30 lbs. If I quit while eating healthier, will I still gain weight or will it decline. It doesn-t really matter, I plan to do it anyway, just curious. I really do NOT want to gain anymore weight and any tips will help. Thanks.Nicotin gums. Slap yourself each time you think of smokeing, smoke, cigarettes.

How do i get someone i love to stop smoking? -
How do i get someone i love to stop smoking? -
well, my dad was the 1st one i got to stop smoking, but whenever i turn around, someone else i love smokes. my aunt is someone who i really want to get to stop smoking. A lot of people have children and they smoke and then the parents can die. That is one thing that makes me so sad. I understand there is a addiction in it, but that is the thing. If people know that, why would they smoke. Then most people end up dieing and i don-t want that to happen to anyone in my family. My papa is around the age 78 and he just stopped smoking and i am very happy. :) So i have a few questions.
1.) why do people smoke?
2.) Why do people start smoking?
3.) How to i get them to stop?
4.) Why don-t police take them away? i mean like stop people from selling them?
5.) Is it normal to ask these questions?
lol. sorry. just wondering. thank you. - sorry i didn-t know what category to put it under.1. Cigarettes contain nicotine which is a highly addictive barbituate. Once someone starts, without a significant desire and will power to quit, most will relaps and smoke again.
2. Everyone starts for a different reason. Peer pressure, boredom, they think it make them look cool. Some use parents or sibling as a excuse by saying -the second had smoke is going to kill me anyway so I may as well smoke myself-
3. There is no easy way to get someone to quit because it is an addiction. The bottom line is that if they do not REALLY want to quit, they won-t. You can stress the health benefits, money they will save but not buying the cigarettes, or the fact that they will not longer strink.
4. Why isn-t it illegal to buy cigarettes? Money! The fact that people die is of no consequence to the government, only that they can tax it and make billions in revenue.
5. Asking question is a great thing! When we stop questioning and learning new things... we die. :)because smoke has drugs in it!! it can make you high.. so people end up dying because of the drug that makes then over dosages. my advice for you is to smoke 1 stick a day until you reach 5 packs a day so when one of your family dies you will not worry anymore cause you will die also and you will end up seeing each other in heaven or hell. hahahaYou can-t stop anyone from smoking. This has to come from internal motivation to stop but you can continue to tell them that you want them to be around for you for a long time and hopefully, that will help them to be motivated to stop smoking. People smoke for lots of reasons - so they won-t eat all the time, nervous behavior because they need to do something with their hands, etc and it is addicting so it is very difficult for someone to stop. Each time one of your relatives lights up a cigarette, look them in the eye and tell them you are sad because they won-t be around when you grow up.How do i get someone i love to stop smoking? -
Physical effects of smoking pot? -

does smoking pot permanently mess up your cardiovascular system? like if someone has been smoking like 3 times a month for the past year, and they start finding it harder to work out, if they stop smoking will it eventually get better? or will it be there forever?
please no -smoking pot is bad for you, idiot!- lectures. I quit this week.
thanks.Frequent marijuana use can seriously affect your short-term memory. It can impair your cognitive ability and lead to long-lasting depression or anxiety.
While many people smoke marijuana to relax, it can have the opposite effect on frequent users. And smoking anything, whether it-s tobacco or marijuana, can seriously damage your lung tissue.
Damaged lung tissue leads to COPD and emphysema which can also seriously threaten your cardiovascular system.
It is said that one joint contains the toxins equivalent to 6 cigarettes.Physical effects of smoking pot? -
Does a doctor have the right to tell you he wont operate until you stop smoking? -
Does a doctor have the right to tell you he wont operate until you stop smoking? -
I need a operation on my back and they tell me they won-t do it until i stop smoking, and smoking has nothing to do with whats wrong with meSmoking creates risks for surgeons. You constrict blood vessels, raise blood pressure, and have a whole host of weird chemicals running through your body.
What happens if you have this surgery and can-t get outside to smoke during recovery? What happens if you run into post-surgical complications due to the diminished capacity of your blood vessels?
I had a doctor tell me if I were to have surgery to correct spinal stenosis, I would fare better if I lost weight first. These things can and do create complications. It does. Probably it does have a connection. (It might have a reaction with anaeshetics or meds, or slow your recovery) Trust the pros.It could have something to do with how they give you the anaesthetic though, especially if you have a cough or asthma. If you stop smoking, your breathing will be easier and that I imagine will help the anaesthetist.I work for an orthopod and yes they can refuse and should not operate until you have stopped smoking for at least 3 months but I know some that will operate if you have been quit for at least 1 month and you shouldn-t start smoking again after surgery either. If they intend on using any kind of bone or on doing an acd or fusion, smoking hinders healing. In the case of him using any type of hardware or bone, blood supply is needed in this new bone for it to become living bone and when a person smokes, blood vessels constrict and this new bone will essentially become stone and useless and you will be in more pain than you are now. I have seen it first hand and yes I have been a smoker for 20 years. It would be a waste of your time, money and why bother if it isn-t going to work. There are multiple web sites such as webmd that will tell you about back surgeries and the reasons behind not smoking. Get all the facts please. It is in your best interest and health to quit prior to any surgery.Absolutely! He wants you to have a good outcome. He it looking at your total health -- not just your back.
I-m not a lawyer, but many have told me that the only time a physicain is obligated to work on you is if you are not -stable.- If your life is in immediate danger they are obligated to work on you.
There are lots of reasons why docs, mechanics, musicians, contractors, and lots of other professions refuse to work for people.
Good luck. I hope that this all works out for you. Back pain and injuries are tough.Does a doctor have the right to tell you he wont operate until you stop smoking? -
